  1. You need a long (12"+) Phillips-head screwdriver. If you look really close there are marks molded into the top of the plastic headlight housing that show where the top of the screwdriver goes. From the service manual:

  3. The Nappa leather is now a choice of black or brown instead of Sierra Tan. Just about everyone likes the tan when they see it so the new colors are a letdown.
  4. I wouldn't do the overpriced 2 year service special the dealerships offer but I would have a safety check done. In the warranty and maintenance manual there is a chart of what is recommended.
  5. Check to see if the bracket and mounting screws are in the trunk with or under the spare tire. The installation instructions were not updated for 2023 so not much help: https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/SOA342L171 IxI.pdf
  6. It looks like they changed from chrome to black trim for 2023. They are listed in the accessory catalog as part number F001SAN110. 2020-2022 was F001SAN010 but no longer showing for 2020 in parts catalog but was updated to show 2020-2023 in technical information system. Other references haven't been updated.
  7. Drive with it in full auto so as to dehumidify the car before you park it.
  8. Try keeping it on full auto to see if it makes a difference. Otherwise ask the dealer what's going on.
  9. Not a problem with my 2020. Is it worse after a rain? Do you keep anything in the car or trunk that holds moisture? Is it different if you park outside vs. garage? Do you keep the heating/cooling in full auto?
  10. Good to know. I haven't seen the new Cosmic in person but it seems Subaru is going in the right direction there. I passed on the old Abyss Blue as it was too dull so went with the Magnetite Gray Metallic (still a bit boring). From the brochure the 2023s also changed some interior colors. One change I don't like is going from Sierra Tan Nappa Leather to Java Brown Nappa Leather for the touring. Your black STI wheels do make a better look than the standard rims. Congrats on the new ride.
  11. How do you like the Cosmic Blue Pearl as compared to last year's Abyss Blue Pearl?
  12. I went down that road when I first got the car trying things. Not much seems to matter other than outside temperature even if the HVAC is set to off.
  13. I haven't gotten the postcard. Was it only for the 2.5L? I think they shipped with a slightly smaller CCA battery than the 2.4L. On the Outback forums they talk about how the battery affects the ASS (auto stop start). Sometimes I want it shutting down for longer periods (like at a drive-through) but 15 to 20 seconds is a waste. Once in a while when it is warm out it might go to 2 minutes. I'm thinking a better battery would help but I'm not willing to spend money on it.
  14. When I bought my Subaru in 2019 they offered 3 years of STARLINKĀ® Safety Plus and STARLINKĀ® Security Plus for $75 which I signed up for. Now I see that it is set to auto renew (they have my credit card info) at $150/year. For that price it is not worth it to me so I turned off the auto renewal. Have others seen any discount offers? Check your pricing and turn off auto renewal here: https://www.mysubaru.com/starlink/subscription-billing.html
  15. Looks like there are different part numbers for spoilers that come with new torsion bars. 1st one is original 2020 without bars. E721SAN000XX - https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/E721SAN000%20-%20Legacy%20Trunk%20Spoiler%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf E721SAN030XX - https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/E721SAN030XX%20-%20Legacy%20Trunk%20Spoiler%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf E721SAN031XX - https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/E721SAN031XX%20-%20Installation%20Instructions%20-%20Legacy%20Trunk%20Spoiler.pdf
  16. Thanks for the info. The app uses cellular to communicate with the car so no distance limits, just needs cell service. I've had lots of failures so was hoping the fob was better.
  17. What kind of distance are you getting with the dedicated remote start fob?
  18. You need the part which you referenced which includes a remote start control module. In my 2020 manual the info you found is in the "Remote Engine Start System (Dealer Option)" section. Since it is an option here are the installation instructions: https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/H001SAN000%202020%20Leg_Obk%20Push%20Start%20RES%20IxI.pdf Apparently with the remote start kit you can use you current fob to start but it only works at short distances. You need the dedicated remote start fob for up to 400 feet. I think the Subaru team working on the head unit wasn't talking with the accessories team. Maybe this will be fixed with the next refresh.
  19. Fog light installation can be DIY. Less than an hour's time so that dealer is screwing you every which way. Buy online for $300 then follow the official instructions: https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/H451SAN000%20-%20GC7%20Legacy%20Fog%20IxI.pdf#search=fog
  20. They are getting special inspection cameras. Goes in through the oil fill plug or something like that.
  21. Not sure how different but what it connects to has different part numbers as well. Different bushings so I wonder if it has a different thickness.
  22. The Outback has a different sway bar than the Legacy. I don't think that it will fit.
  23. I received one on that basically says there is an issue but they aren't ready to fix it.
