  1. Mine was $440 total and including the JDM hazard switch. But it was so worth it.
  2. I had spots drill on my TH350 VB and even have the part the holds the clutch packs(I forget the name) to let fluid move away from cluthes quicker for faster shifts. On of that effected downshifts.
  3. Bring it!!!! They are about to open an e85 station on my way home from work and I'll be pushing around 400whp. Where in LA are you?
  4. Hi-stall torque Convert(t/c) don't make any "more" power it just gets you to your power band quicker buy slipping more. Think of it this way. It's like having a stick and letting the clutch engage at 3000 rpms instead of 2000rpms. You didn't make anymore power but, it will feel faster and launch better. They also called them hi stall(or loose) because old cars with big cams had to rev higher just to be able to idle so they won't stall. My '56 F100 has a Chevy 327 with a hot cam not crazy and it would idle at @1200 to 1500rpms just to smooth it out. Below that it would have rough idle sound like it was about to turn off. Stock stalls from @1200rpms and @1500rpms. I had to get a @2500 rpm stall just to drive the truck with my cam. If i had a stock t/c the motor would be fighting the tranny and t/c at every stop light and cause alot of heat like when you power brake. Downside to hi stall too high is they are no fun to drive in a daily driver. They slip more then standard until they lockup if it's a lock up T/c and that kills MPG. Back in the days before ECU and Variable valve timing you needed a high stall just to drive built motors. If you built a motor that made power on the top end you had to do something to get the rpms up to make the car move at low rpms. If you every been by a V8 with a hi-stall at a stop light you will notice they don't creep forward at a light like most autos. They roll back like a stick in neutral. Because the engine is not turning fast enough to move the fluid in the t/c fast enough to move the impellers on the front of the trannies input shaft and front pump. When the take off you can hear the motor rev faster then the car moves. Before lockup t/c you wold have to live with that slip all of the time even on the freeway. Now lockup t/c solve that problem by locking up so there is no more slip. If you are using this car on the street get hi stall with lock up t/c.
  5. Get out of my head man!!!! I was going to say the same thing.
  6. I built and raced muscule cars( '69 Mustangs one with a 390 big block and C6 auto/ reverse shift pattern and hi-stall, shift kit, etc the other I put a 351C w/4sp,'56 F-100 w chey 327 built 350 TH, etc...) before I got into Subarus. I built engines and I helped my mentor built Ford and Chevy trannies for drag racing. I remember most of what he taught me on how to keep a tranny together behind a big block. So if there is anything I can help you with let me know. The members here helped me get my FMIC bussiness off the ground and I like to give back. I'm going to send you a PM and good luck. Bryan
  7. FX300 it hooks so well I thought I broke tranny. So I took a friends advice that my center diff was gone and I got a new tranny. Well the noise wasn't the tranny it was the turbo. So hopefully I can tell you how the clutch holds up to a 20G 7cm hot , EWG, and a New Billet wheel. I want to see how close I can get to make 20psi at 3000 rpms. I got it for about $580 shipped.
  8. I have the clutchmaster and I have no chatter with my 20g.
  9. It dependes on you. If you like the way it drives or not. I just swapped to a tranny without a without the TSK kit and I don't have any chatter. I also took the retainer clip off of the TOB that comes with the TSK kit and put it on the stock TOB just to see what it would do.
  10. I got my CM FX300 setup for less than $600 shipped from MAperformance on Nasioc. The pedal is as light as stock and holds very well.
  11. I found a stock LGT 5spd w/ 30K for $1300 to my door. So it will be here Wednesday. Soo I'm going to rebuild my stock one. It's about time I learned how to build a tranny:) I killed my center diff so I need to find a stonger one. I'm going to a LSD and upgrad the syncros if I can. I'm going to start a build a tranny thread. The goal is to make a strong tranny for a grand. My labor is free and I like to experiment. thanks for all the help. Bryan
  12. I killed my tranny . Any lead on a 6mt. Not trying to thread jack just needs so leads. Just PM me. thanks Bryan
  13. I fixed it. The 2 front bolts on the tranny crossmember were loose. The clutch has a very smooth engagement and no chatter.
  14. I just install the ClutchMaster FX300 setup with a stock '06 WRX flywheel. I finally took it for a drive yesterday. The pedal is about the same as stock if not lighter. It's easy to engage and drive. The only thing I got this clunck sound sometime when the clutch engages. Only when I'm driving not when I'm parked. What could it be? Is that the chatter people talk about?
  15. I compared the stock TOB the the one the comes with the TSK and it looks like they just honed a stock TOB alittle bigger to fit over new sleeve. I think if I mic the TSK TOB I could modd stock TOB to fit. I think if I get a drill press I could do it. $80 is way too much for a TOB the next time you change your clutch.
  16. I had to wait for the TSK kit to come in. Everything is in including a new passenger side axle. I just have to hook the driveshaft to the rear diff.
  17. have you checked their site for the part and price? I didn't see it. Let's say in 3 years the go out of business. Are we SOL?
  18. I was just wondering. When you buy the tsk3 kit that is not a standard TOB. So where do you get a replacement TOB the next time you change your clutch and how much is it? When I ask the guy on the phone at "Fred Bean" he said that's a good question and he did not know. My snout was messed up so I bought the kit and will worry about the TOB later. So everyone out there with the kit what are you going to do when you replace your clutch?
  19. I'm going to order the Clutchmasters FX300 and I will put it in next weekend. I will be the first to try it. I will keep you all informed.
