2.5is came with 16" wheels stock in 2005 so I'm pretty sure you can run 16" wheels on your 06. Not so sure on the tire size though, judging from https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=205-50r17-225-60r16 there looks to be a nontrivial difference. EDIT: saw your other post, is your car a 2.5i or a GT? A 2.5i can run 16" wheels but I don't think a GT can.

There is an 07 spec b for sale on the forum right now (if you can afford the spec b tax!)

After looking through madrig's hood scoop thread, I just might go with one of his fibreglass ones instead.. he really does make some quality stuff

Interested in a BSM hood scoop, and black sedan door cards. What condition are these parts in? Photos available? -
Seat heater - too hot
derache123 replied to Rittmeister's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I can definitely relate to this from when I was living in upstate NY. I would rather have my seats be too hot than not hot enough. My BMW F800GT's heated grips get very toasty very fast, and I love that about them if only it had a heated seat too! -

Did you have to modify the JDM grille to fit the USDM bumper? And I would like to mention that I think the tinted tails look great, I have them on my 2.5i -

Cool. Might be interested in the headlights - I sent you a PM with a few questions. -

Have you had any issues with condensation in the headlights? After washing car, rain, etc? -

Sounds good to me, sent you a PM. -
Anyone have copies of Cobb's v300 OTS maps for 05/06s? The current v350 maps remove CEL suppression for the codes resulting from up pipe replacement, and their customer support won't provide the older maps because they "can't assist with bypassing federal mandates and requirements"

Cobb AP showing 05 LGT for 06
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Hmm, seems like the gauge cluster and ECU might've been swapped together then. When I get a chance I'll try and take a look at the number on the ECU case and report back. -
Cobb AP showing 05 LGT for 06
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Yeah I know it's probably not a big deal - I don't have any CELs and it runs fine and everything, honestly just my inner OCD coming out lol. Although I do have a very slight concern about passing smog once the time comes - I saw a few posts on here (perhaps from m sprank?) about people failing smog because the state ref crossed referenced their ECU ROM with their database and found a mismatch or something. Hopefully I never get sent to state ref... -
Cobb AP showing 05 LGT for 06
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Hmm, seems like something's definitely off on mine then. IIRC I read somewhere that for the 06s they removed some sensor, so an 05 ECU should throw a CEL because it's looking for a sensor that doesn't exist? And my car is not doing that :/ I could be mistaken though... but I do know for a fact that the 05 and 06 ECUs have different part numbers... On a partially related note, anyone know if the gauge cluster is tied to the ECU? I'm fairly certain that the gauge cluster on my car got swapped 30k miles ago (mileage inconsistency), maybe the first owner swapped both the cluster and ECU from an 05..? -

According to my VIN the car was MT from the factory... does your 06 show up as an 06 on an AP? -
Cobb AP showing 05 LGT for 06
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I did some searching and it seems like all 2005.5 were AT, so it doesn't look like that should apply to me since my car is MT :/ -
Just picked up an AP3 today and installed it on my 06 LGT, I noticed that on the information screen after installation, my car showed up as an 05 LGT rather than an 06. I'm assuming 05 and 06 ECUs are different, so the AP should be able to recognize that it's an 06 - does this mean one of the previous owners replaced the original ECU with one from an 05?

Interested in some of these - which gaskets do I need for an up pipe replacement? I know I need the two up pipe gaskets, but I remember reading somewhere that since the DP comes off too, I need a DP gasket as well? -
