Eyesight is only standard on the automatic models, not available on the manual ones (which I assume would be of more interest to you).

Way to check for odometer rollback?
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Pre-purchase Questions
Thanks, will check for those things when I go see the car in person. Basically the Carfax report has service records until ~110k for the first owner, but the smog check record for when the 2nd (current) owner bought it is at 84k. I'm suspecting the first owner replaced the cluster before selling to the current owner, and did not report to DMV, which means it would currently be at ~130k and not 103k. Honestly I'm not super concerned but would be good to know. -

Oh wow... PM sent, maybe we can make this work somehow?? -
Looking at a local 06 LGT, it has 103k on the odometer but there appears to be an odometer inconsistency on the Carfax report (but nothing reported to the DMV). Is there a physical way to check if the odometer has been rolled back, or gauge cluster replaced, or something like that?

79k mile 06 LGT - Should the timing belt be replaced?
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Pre-purchase Questions
I no longer do but you should be able to find it by searching for an 06 Spec B near Portland, OR on Facebook marketplace. I believe the listing is still up. -

79k mile 06 LGT - Should the timing belt be replaced?
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Pre-purchase Questions
Sorry if I wasn't clear, it's not 3k just for the intercooler, it's 3k for everything that would need to be done total - there were a lot of other things as well, like needing a complete new set of tires etc -
79k mile 06 LGT - Should the timing belt be replaced?
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Pre-purchase Questions
As an update, the prepurchase inspection found a number of mechanical issues (biggest one being needing a new intercooler) that would add up to probably $3k or more to address, so looks like this car is not the one. Disappointing since it's a Spec B too (#155), oh well. Timing belt turned out to be in good shape though, lol. -
79k mile 06 LGT - Should the timing belt be replaced?
derache123 replied to derache123's topic in Pre-purchase Questions
If it's helpful at all, I asked the shop that's doing the pre-purchase inspection to also take a look at the condition of the timing belt, and they said it would probably add an extra half hour or so to the inspection. -
Hey all, Currently looking at picking up a very low mileage 06 LGT, only 79k miles, 1 owner. It still has a while to go in terms of mileage before the 105k mile service (timing belt, etc), but given the car is now 14 years old, is the service overdue anyway? Would it be safe to keep driving on the original timing belt until 105k? Banjo filters also have not been removed IIRC - is it a big deal if I don't remove them right away? Thanks

Seems like tinypic has taken down the pictures in the OP, any way they could get reuploaded? -
Selling my set of OEM 17" Legacy wheels with like-new Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 winter tires, purchased in November of last year. The tires currently have only around 2500 miles on them and are in very good condition with lots and lots of life left. The wheels are in good condition with very slight curb rash, nothing serious. All four wheels have functioning TPMS as well. I am moving to California later this month and therefore won't need winter tires anymore. I'm currently located in Blacksburg, VA and I would prefer local pick up. I am also willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet with you - PM me and we can figure it out. I'd prefer not to ship, but if you really want to, it can be arranged at your cost. The wheels are currently on my car - I'm planning to swap on my all seasons early next week, and once I've done so I'll upload some better pictures of the winter tires/wheels off the car. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Pricing is $500 OBO. Thanks for looking!

FAQ: Offsets, Sizes for Rims and Tires on the GT! Xenonk Version! - Vol 2
derache123 replied to SBT's topic in Wheels/Tires
Thanks for the tip - I've already located a few Spec B spares from various part outs, so getting one shouldn't be too hard. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't buying something I didn't actually need. -

A bit of a strange question, but having swapped to 225/45/18s from my previously stock 205/50/17s, will the original donut spare still be safe to use? Should I purchase a Spec B spare instead to replace it? -

Yeah, I just went along and got them and turns out they work fine - they're mounted on OEM 06-07 Spec B wheels, 18x7 +55 offset. -
I have a very slightly leaky head gasket and I figured I would just get it over with and fix it. The local shop that specializes in Subarus quoted me $2700 (inc. labor and tax) for replacing the head gaskets, timing belt, and whatnot. Is this considered overpriced? Below I've attached the list of parts that they'll replace:

I have an 09 2.5i on stock suspension. Stock tire size is 205/50/17 but I'm looking into a new set of wheels with 225/45/18 tires. Will this work with stock suspension? -
