  1. Alright, both of the cabin fuses are good.

I checked the voltage at the compressor connector and it never changed when I turned the A/C on or off.

From another thread, the wonderful Max Capacity has recommended replacing the engine compartment relay.

I found the relay, but how do I get it out? It seems to have two release tabs on the sides but it doesn't seem to wanna come out when I pry them outward and pull up on the relay.

    I watched a bit of this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv6tI7CyztE

And I tried to find the green test connectors but I seem to have a panel above the pedals and looking under the steering wheel, I couldn't seem to find them like I can find them for my '94. So right now I'm hoping it's the relay.

Found the test connectors up in the passenger side footwell...

The compressor relay is working, and compressor clutch cycled about 4 times then stopped cycling. If I can get a relay for a reasonable price, I'll see if maybe it's just working and then failing after a few cycles before moving on to the compressor clutch.

  2. So after refreshing my A/C refrigerant and enjoying A/C it seems that the compressor clutch has gone out.

    I found this thread - https://www.legacygt.com/topic/73566-ac-compressor-clutch-replacement-diy-walkthrough/

I was wondering if there might be good trouble shooting thread for seeing if it might be something else before I try and get a replacement clutch (if the clutch can be replaced for an 08).

And since the hood was open I added half a quart of oil.

Click the "Plus" on the quote button underneath someone's post. Now do it for multiple posts. You can now quote multiple posts.

    Like I just did, here.

I'll try the plus then. I've just been clicking on Quote.

    You could multiquote before.

Unless I'm not seeing it, you've only quoted from this thread, and not another thread into this thread.

just an FYI grimmspeed will not just sell you a silicone coupler, you have to send them proof you own the TMIC, a picture of your car with it on. 🙄 I mean I was like take my money. I needed the throttle body hose because I have a small tear in the top part and I think that is the problem with it popping off under boost. Plus I got the kit used off here, and they said parts just get old and warn.

Getting my nameless 3 inch pipes put on, paired with my fujitsubo mufflers. this should sound so good. can't wait.

I think RallyArmor also won't sell you parts unless you have proof of purchase.

I don't have proof of purchase, the mudflaps came with the car when I bought it!

Does anyone else find it hard to tell where the, "sticky's end and the new threads start ?  I'd like to see a solid line or a space, as some other forums use.

I also find it hard to tell the difference between the threads I've read and the one's that I haven't read yet. There used to be a brightness or boldness to the unread threads.

    Yes to both.

This has been a futile few days.  For the last two oil changes, I have used Amsoil oil filters and they are great, certainly better than the NAPA Wix filters that I can use everywhere else but they unscrew themselves on a Subaru because the engine vibration rotates about a vertical axis and the filter mounts vertically, so Wix is out even though it is the filter I go with for everything else.

I've used the Wix and Napa Wix filters for years on NA and Turbo Subarus with no problems.

I still do about 3/4 of a turn when the gasket meets the mating surface for filter tightness.

  7. Actually on Monday, but since the wonderful Governor here banned r134a for regular folks I had two coworkers that had the hook ups from traveling friends, and got the A/C Pro r134a and recharged my A/C.

From the gauge on the canister it was just at the bottom of the green zone and I charged it to ~40.

For the last year it was just barely putting out cool air, but now it's a bit too chilly!

You can quote posts across different topics pretty easily with IPBoard.

How? I've tried it but I'm not sure what I need to do.

With vB it was easy to just quote the post and then copy and paste it in to the other thread.

Now I when I try and select a post in the quote, it just puts a square around it and a little crosshair thing comes up in the upper left corner.

Is there a way to get the "click here" link in my sig, so it's easy to find my rebuild thread.  I just went to look for that thread. I think it was titled, Got some new parts, from early 2012. I think it was in the 4th Gen forum.

OK, After looking through 38 pages in the 4th Gen forum I went over to the Outback forum and found the link to my thread.

    https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/got-some-new-stuff-engine-r-r-184106.html

When I clicked on it over there, it takes me here and say's

    Sorry!

The page you requested does not exist

Rather than looking for threads, it might be easier to go to your profile and then See their activity, and then select Topics. That will list your threads.

This is a trend that started a few years ago. I noticed it when my work got their new ticketing system. Nothing better than knowing theres going to be an outage "in 2 days" that ends "in 2 days".  You have to hover over to see the actual time  If you're on mobile, you're borked  Terrible trend.

Apple did this with their email client, and I can't stand it. The email times are relative until about a week goes by, then you actually get the date.

  11. How do I get actual timestamps for the posts?

I greatly dislike relative post times ( 27 minutes ago ) and I would prefer just seeing when it was posted.

I don't see a control panel to set my settings/preferences, so I'm not sure where I could change it.

Oooh, I might have found a solution to deep links of topics. I've deployed this and will just have to watch search engine logs for 404s if the regex was wrong.

    Screen Shot 2022-07-15 at 6.05.11 PM.png

So how do we get that to work?

When I try and go to a bookmark, I get a completely random thread.
