  1. I gotta get better at taking car pics, but this is how it sat yesterday. All dirty on the road.
  2. A night pic with the new color. It's a crappy phone pic too, but looks better if you click on it.
  3. No worries cww516, it's all just conversation and me asking questions that have been answered a million times. Here are some pics with the new wheel color and a pretty clean car. I really like the burnt copper color the more I look at it. What do you guys think?
  4. Thanks guys! That was the plan FLlegacy, I was going to install the parts and then get the tune. I was just going off of what cww516 said about the Cobb AP possibly being able to take care of the EBCS, but I was thinking, from what I read that it would need an aftermarket tune when the EBCS was installed. Thanks for confirming guys! That's where I want the power a little more consistent too, from the dig. I'm not doing any roll racing, I may or may not be too old for that poop.
  5. I will just stick with my plan, put these parts in and get a stage 1 etune. I agree, I might just be happy there and not need to go to stage 2, but who's ever happy for too long with these things. I don't need to break things too often from the upgraded power because it will be my daily still, but who can resist more fun? The only thing missing from my set up to yours is the down pipe. I guess I forget from reading that crazy long Nameless DP thread, if you had to port your turbo or not. I don't think you did, if I remember correctly. I think I would need to port my turbo due to the climate I live in and that down pipe looks like it will be quite the challenge to remove with the rust belt miles it has on it. Playing it safe and sticking with the stage 1 seems like a good choice at this point in the season for me. Thanks for the info!
  6. I ordered the BPV and EBCS today. Will I need to get an etune if I use the boost controller? At least to be useful or will the Cobb app take advantage of it?
  7. I did this to my stock wheels last night. I will get a pick of them on the car with the over spray on the tires cleaned up... and the dirty car cleaned up too. I really like how it looks on the car. Now, I'm considering doing the same to the grill.
  8. I finally got my AVO and Whiteline bushings installed in my LCA's and it was a bitch in those old arms. I had a seized rear bushing bolt on the driver's side that took a considerable amount of time/effort to remove, but I got it out and didn't have to break anything to do so. I even had time to give the arms a good prep and bunch of coats of paint, to get it ready for some more years of service. Pressing the actual bushing was the easy part. I need to take it out on the highway and see if it got rid of my front end vibration. I think I will still need to replace the passenger side axle, but wanted to wait and see how much the new bushings helped. After that I have to get my turbo cooler lines replaced. I already have the parts for that, so I just need to find the time. The last major thing for the summer will be the stage 1 tune. I was thinking about going straight stage 2, but with the new (to me) info of having the boost creep issue in this car/turbo, I figured I would take it easy on myself and save stage 2 for next year. I have had enough time working on this car just to fix the old age items I inherited from the previous owner(s). Quick question, should I install the BPV and EBCS for the stage 1 tune or just tune it stock as it sits?
  9. I found the clunk on a couple of my other Subies to be the slop in the steering rack. I could grab the rack on the WRX and shake it in the rack housing and it would make my clunk. I replaced the rack on the WRX, but there is an adjustment on it to take out that play. It's not good for things if that is too tight or loose, so it's a bit of a tricky adjustment. I would get noises over bumps and not just turning left/right too. Not saying that's anyone's issue here, but maybe...
  10. I just installed the fumoto's in a few of my work trucks. The crush washer doesn't crush down all the way. It only indents a little bit to create the seal. I had a bad washer on one of mine and I just removed it and installed it with some black gasket maker. It has been leak free for a couple of weeks and a few thousand miles. I agree with Sarang, if it's not leaking it's working properly.
  11. Man, I'm still bummed I missed the chance to meet up with you! I should have parked by the show and not back in the shade. I saw your friend win and walk back to her car (as I was waling back to my car). I imagine we were so close a couple of times. I'll give you my number for the next meet and make it a little easier. Congrats on the win!
  12. I caught your last run or one of your runs at the Fl4tfest today. The run looked great and the car looked awesome too! It was a really fun event! I'm going to have to run my car through the autox next year.
  13. I hear that, it's easy to be broke. I will keep an eye out for the Humble Rumble 3.6R+!
  14. NO need to feel stupid, you had a lot of stress in that situation. At least you didn't get it towed.
  15. I finally replaced my leaky passenger side valve cover gasket yesterday. My hands are not a fan of that job. It was a tad easier than my 02 WRX, I had to grind down an 1/4" drive 10mm socket to fit the lower rear bolt between the wheel well on that car. Now on to the wastegate porting...
  16. I just got back from a Takeover meet at a big parking lot by a couple strip malls. There were a lot of WRX's and STi's. There were two Foresters Lowered and looking good. There was one 4th gen Legacy GT there (debaged) and it looked pretty good., nobody around by it to talk to. There was a stock Legacy in the parking lot and I parked over by the visiting Subaru parking area away from the show. Lots of other crazy stuff there, a bunch of slammed and loud cars there. There was a cool old sleeper Volvo and some crazy jacked up trucks. It was a cool show. I wonder if they are going racing some where around here overnight? There were a couple of big trucks with trailers and race cars on them. It's a good rare summer night for racing around here too. It is nice out, cool and dry. Haha, my car was pulling good tonight.
  17. Did you hear about the Takeover tonight at the Rocky Rococo's on East Wash? I just got back from there and there is a lot of cars and trucks there. I know this is probably the last place you will check yet tonight, but figured I would mention it.
  18. I did indeed pick up the SILFR6B-8 plugs, thanks to the search function on the forum. I had to order them because I couldn't find anyone locally that stocked them. Yeah, gotta do the maintenance before the fun stuff. Not sure how relaxing it is for me as I do it all week long. I really like the outcome though:). I'm the fleet manager and the only mechanic for a fleet of 22+ vehicles. Due to taking that job, I got away from caring too much about my own vehicle. Now, I have been doing that long enough and have the stress under control, so I'm having fun with my own vehicle again. This forum has made it possible for me to gain the info needed to get these mods done without it all being my own trial and error. I really appreciate you people and this place!
  19. I picked up a 4 set of the NKG plugs from Amazon. I also ordered the parts needed to replace the turbo cooler lines. Once I get that and the valve cover gasket (guess I picked that up today too) installed I can move on to porting the wastegate in the turbo and adding the go fast stuff. So much crap to get to the good stuff.
  20. Does Jay Leno have a garage in Madison?
  21. Thanks man! Just a 2 inch wider stance looks much meaner, for sure! I am very happy with the way it sits now, even though it probably should've looked close to that from the factory, for a sports sedan.
