  1. Put a search on ebay for the part number. I just picked one up a few weeks ago. Just be sure that they say it came off an STi, I did find some that had the part number but said they were off a WRX and the seller didnt respond to e-mails so I didnt risk it.
  2. If that was doable, wouldnt it be possible to just get a WRX ECU and then WRX flex fuel kit and be good? Ive read some people attempt a swap but havent come across a completed swap and the conversation goes over my head with a lot of this.
  3. So weird. I would have assumed that it would be easier to do the 05-06's and just say "Must convert to top feed". All the electronics of the SI-mode should make it more difficult - but it does seem more people have that so I guess I cant blame them.
  4. Thats consistant at least. I didnt know some years came top feed. would a top feed converted work or is there a big difference in the ECU too? That seems to be what they point too as the hold up for the Legacy.
  5. And when you do... link them to this thread! Let them know you are far from alone Heck, even blame them for contributing to global warming - whatever it takes! Last time I e-mailed them I was told they are trying to get something for the manual LGT's done but unsure of what years will be supported.
  6. Im surprised your allowed on a firearm thread on an iPhone So true - revolver guys really like to push the limits it seems. But it can make for some amazing fireballs and pictures
  7. Right, those noob motorcycle riders are crazy. And the sea creature is icky. I think you mean squib. Which is an undercharge or usually no powder.
  8. How can one tell if its the correct rack? I was looking to pick up a used one but then i found another with the same part number but they say they pulled it from a WRX. Part number should be on it somewhere right? Any way to tell from pics tho?
  9. True, I didnt think about an under charge. Once I get a baller setup I'll run something like that. But with just a little lee turret its not a big deal to look each time as I seat the bullet. I also weigh a random round every now and then.
  10. My first few times loading I was scared... but once you find the setup you like and get it dialed its so consistent theres nothing to worry about. You can also choose to load with powders that make it stupid obvious that you've double loaded - usually it means I spill powder everywhere and no way is a bullet getting seated. Brings prices down, great for odd calibers, and best for ammo shortages if you've prepared for them! I believe every gun I own says not to use reloads/handloads. :lol:Too many lawyers But if you do reload for a Glock I recommend staying away from lead unless you really clean it well each time and size the lead properly. Maybe even use a harder alloy. But as long as you're competent - IE, work on your car and not screw it up - then I highly recommend loading!
  11. Funny, I never knew the name of those. I also had an old customer that found a funny looking flash hider that fits into mag lights - But i'm not looking for work arounds or items that could end up as constructive possession. I agree the NFA laws are dumb beyond restricting full auto. But I am the type of person that like Silencer Co - If I can, I will just because. Is anybody really asking for suppressed black powder guns? Not likely because as its been pointed out, there should be no legality issue with owning a black powder rifle and a black powder rifle suppressor. But what the heck is that?! I agree this isnt the year for HPA, but I can hope that we'll at least have 7 more years for a good try!
  12. How can a silencer be created and owned for 'not a firearm'? As in if its legal to do as you say, how can I obtain a silencer for my black powder/not a firearm without NFA notice? I also figured this is why they said "moderated". Its stupid just like the AR being a pistol vs rifle and how even if it was a pistol before, once its a rifle it cant be a pistol. If it was built on an 80% lower, how can it ever be known what it was? We have trans people - why cant my gun be non-binary platform fluid?! Sorry, had to go there. I can obtain stripped/80% lowers - I havent seen a stripped or 80% suppressor. Is there a complete design difference that makes it easy to spot if its for a firearm because the law just says "intended for a firearm" are illegal but as we learned with the Shoulder braces, That depends on their mood that day how they interpret what we intend. I could never be a lawyer
  13. So sad. Thats worse then people not driving their cars! Only engraved guns would I be reluctant to shoot. Pics of the octo barrel? I think those are so cool. You guys see the new 50 State legal "Moderated" Black powder rifle that can be sold direct to consumer?! They actually decided (after "Never Shoulder, Never Forget) to get an ATF determination letter. But it ended up stating that its completely legal. https://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2017/09/20/silencer-maxim-50-a-50-state-legal-suppressed-muzzleloader/#disqus_thread Yea, Kommiefonia's head just exploded. I also like the use of "Moderated".
  14. Thats a good start... Thats part of what I like about .22 and 7.62 - I dont hand load them and they're still cheap enough I can do mag dumps with just for fun.
  15. .22 was my last caliber to get. Its tied with 7.62 as my favorite to shoot. Right?! I started shooting the year the shelves went dry. Sucked having to stand in line for hours and ration ammo. I think my next purchase needs to be a suppressor. .22 and then I want a 300 blk. Was going to last black friday - 15% off but found out it was a year wait and bought a .17 HMR instead. Maybe this year if I dont go broke with subie parts
  16. Crazy - I dont quite know enough to act like I know whats going on, but very interested. The tighter tolerances should just make it shoot better like a custom Les Baer 1911 I've heard some glocks (cant remember what ones, wanna say early gen 3) had some that refused to properly eject. Wonder if adding an Apex ejector could solve that oddity.
  17. True true. If you dont vet your instructors you could end up training under VODA Or learn "E-brake setting 101" with Yeager Better yet, "I went to a Tactical Response/Sunny P class and all I got was my truck/stomach shot". And the whole downrange camera man thing? That just makes me give so much more respect/credit to people like Costa, Haley, Pat, ect. Oh boy - I sort of forgot about Costagate. I give him a pass on that because it was Japan, they take everything to 11 and dont have much gun culture. They make Cali restrictions look tame. Then when they think of our gun culture its probably the good ole fudds that open carry rifles into starbucks - Costa/Haley/Zero are like Majestic Unicorns of beauty and freedom. I likely would have done the same... On a more serious note: How would you recommend to Vet your instructor as a new shooter? On paper a lot of people can look/sound good, but not be teaching the proper techniques or at the right level for the shooter. I really like the point you touched on with "Custom" pieces. Anytime you make something custom tailored to you, that is the best solution - as long as you dont compromise reliability. Sure you should be able to run a stock Glock well, but I want any and every advantage I can take.
  18. So much jelly right now I need moar better training. I see your point - thats why I dont say what these guys teach is Gospel. I like to listen to what they say and decide if that bit is information or shilling. I cant blame them for wanting to make a good living - and product placement or slapping your name on things does that well. I really commend those that dont seem to focus on products/theatrics and their top priority is student advancement and thats who I try and point to. I just dont think using a local guy as an authority on gun stuff is as effective as Costa/Haley saying the same thing. You can bet you'll never see me in 5.11 trying to do bag over my head drills because Instructor Zero did it and is a good shot. I guess I can say I'm not a big fan of blanket statments.
  19. True, its an industry - but Costa is an Instructor and he doesnt tell you to run what he brought - but explains the merits of such modifications and has found that many people can improve with them. Its not like he's the LAV pushing Crisco-clean (Fireclean) - Costa seems to have a genuine interest in making people a better shooter more then selling a gun. He sold like 20 of his signature gun in one minute. Why stop if its just the money and such he's after? Just for clairification - I dont believe adding these parts or doing these things automatically can make you a better shooter. Its just tools or techniques to possibly make a good shooter better. The statment I was rebuting however was "Those cuts/serrations have zero function. They also would jam up with debris". When this is clearly not true. From there we need to take it case by case. Those guns that failed - were they tuned? How did they fail to perform? Light primer strikes? FTF? OOB-KB? How many rounds had been through them? I feel like if this was about car parts, the argument would be "Putting on performance parts or making the car lighter does nothing to the car" and "Those performance parts made the car fail or decrease reliability". When we know theres factors like tune and supporting mods that also come into play. And yes, not everyone needs a 350whp Daily driver. But a lot of us would like it.
  20. I cant say I find any rules that state Press checks are an Auto DQ - I've also never heard of this before. Please explain how IDPA and USPSA would DQ you for a press check. Also funny that you say you need training if you press check... all of my training has taught me to press check. NEVER to trust by feel or because you "know". Its not a "Need" to do it - its just the best way if you're unsure. LCI's can fail. Good to know that because it's never happened to you - it will never happen to anybody. Except it has, in a time of need.
  21. Like someone else said - I think press checks have their time and place. But theres a reason RSO's usually make you show clear and not show me your LCI. I've seen the LCI fail When you say P80 you're talking polymer 80% right? Something has to be wrong I'd bet - I can not get any of my three glocks, my two SD9's, or M&P to fire out of battery. The M&P only needed a small amount, the glock needed more. One glocks stock, the other two have Ghost/RYG connectors, springs, and trigger stop. Just like in the Costa video I posted - its not for everyone, and it has advantages and disadvantages. But when someone wants to claim it has zero function, I have to laugh and say something.
  22. Striker fired guns cant fire out of battery even if you try. The gun would have to have a mechanical failure or the ammo would have to go off on its own. If a press check sets a round off, you were bound to have a problem sooner or later - or its just a Taurus or Sig P320 Max butt hurt/jelly mode achieved! Thats the type of garbage I'd expect on B-ARFcom.
  23. Wow, just wow. Like in Billy Madison - I feel stupider for having read that. You have stated press checks are useful - but serrations to make press checks easier are not functional? Hmmm... Sounds like someones jelly! Chris Costa has done the same thing with his gun. Would you tell him he made a huge mistake too? Those modifications arent for everyone, and they can be done to a wide varying degree - but Costa isnt exactly some schmoe off the street but he obviously sees some merit to these modifications. I'd be curious to hear what your ideal "game gun" (I assume you mean "Competition") would be. Are we talking IDPA? IPSC? 3-Gun open class? Or is this my 10th gun and so I probably dont need another duty gun, let's do something fun with it? That post wouldnt make you an asshole if you actually had a valid point. You dont seem to have run a gun set up as such - maybe you should quit being a Fudd and try it? Who know's... you may be able to be a better shooter with something like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYrSFRkue3Y - You could learn a LOT from this video (unless costa's just some hack like that old cheat Jerry Michulek) but theres a lot of good information so you should just skip to the 20 min mark where he talks about how useless those slide cuts are or how you dont tune them out. Like those silly people that get pro tunes when they install performance parts... If you wanted to stick with the benefits are minimal if at all noticeable I'd cut you some slack, but you went full retard with "no function at all. none". Here's some more duty guns that likely cant hit the broad side of a barn or run a full mag... http://blog.robballen.com/images/Windows-Live-Writer/Ladies-and-Gentlemen-and-you-too-pdb_12A95/image_2.png
  24. In for hopes and dreams and info... Also emailed COBB and pled my case - Here's the responce. "Hello Sparkey, Thank you for contacting Cobb support. We are investigating adding support for some manual transmission Legacy GT models, however I do not know which years will be supported if we do offer it in the future. Keep an eye on our blog and social media for updates!"
