That reverse scoop (first pic) is pretty awesome, but i fear too aggressive for a LGT, plus is it effective? Seems it would be more effective the other way... but does look freaking awesome on a hawkeye wrx. Otherwise I really like the second pic or ajw style...

I split the difference by being a S&W fan boy. I want to pick me up a new M&P in 9 as my carry (have it in .40S&W. Currently carrying a Gen 2 G19 and a G42. At the end of the day I dont care that much, I'll make fun of you no matter what you carry!

Are purchases often delayed beyond 30 days? I read that some people photoshop an old receipt or go to a store they frequent that lets them buy a lock and return it after going out to the car Not sure I follow why you want more locks ether. If having 3 locks didnt work, whats another free one going to do? It has to be accompanied with a proof of purchase and the proof cant be older then 30 days. Why im not sure, its as if locks expire if not used within 30 days of purchase I also would point my finger at the MFG's though. They are required to make an entire gun thats CA compliant, knowing these FSD laws exists, and they cant toss a lock in to make it easy? Lame.

According to https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/fsdfaqs you can bring a lock - just has to have been purchased within 30 days. You dont even need to bring it, just the receipt. But if your process is delayed longer then that, you're screwed! My question is if they allow them to have come with the gun... who says my S&W lock didnt come with my BNIB Glock? That site also touched on an interesting topic - If during a private sale a proper lock can not be furnished, then the gun goes back to the seller. I'll have to double check, but i'm pretty sure locks are provided to gun stores here. Both new purchase and private sale i've had with BGC I was given free locks and pretty sure I was told I can always get them free if I need any. I was told per U.S.C 922(z)(1) the FFL is to provide a lock because the whole premise is part of the PLCAA which removes the store from liability by requiring them to provide a lock if one cant be furnished at the time of sale. My question now is I wonder who pays for the locks, if its just a state thing, or if I'm remembering wrong But I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on the interwebs. I'm also looking for a reason to buy a new gun... conducting research sounds like a good reason

Thanks for the suggestions guys. After my research and everything I decided I dont need the monitoring company or anything. Just need to decide on the pieces and parts from what companies I want to compile it together. For the suggestion of a doggo, I always have one and have the "Security dog" signs. Used to have a Husky Lab mix with a bark that would scare me sometimes and he wasnt a mean dog - just a VERY good watch dog. Now I have a pure Husky who's a big baby and whines more then barks. Oh well... people for whatever reason are still scared of him, so I'm ok with that haha.

I've never had a security system but I recently purchased one and am considering returning it. Anyone actually used one and it be useful? Even with having to register it with the cops thats no guarantee they'll show up. I dont blame them or anything but I'm really not seeing it being as effective as proper security measures, standard deterrents, and the simple magnetic break alarms. Even if cops showed up to every alarm I dont feel it will do that much. I know a few people who have switched companies, but no ones every really used or needed it and I hear a lot of complaints. Thoughts?

Ill swap triggers/parts all day - but tuning a sear/trigger is something im not sure i want to try. I had to trim a Ghost glock connector. Not exactly fun and pretty time consuming and frustrating at times. Especially when the gun locks up and you get to learn how to disassemble it the most difficult way ever. Just like with cars... i cant ever leave good enough alone.

Thats what I love about AKs, like cast iron, they get better the nastier they are. I made the mistake of shooting 'Non corrosive' steel ammo and not cleaning it that night. It rusted. Shot the rust out and its never been better!

Thats cause you got the wrong 7.62 i only pay like $5 for a box of 20 "hunting" rounds. Thats one of those calibers where it does pay to reload.

I got my first gun during this last huge panic. It was harder to find reloading supllies then ammo and the prices were just stupid. I lucked out and worked with someone getting out of loading and i bought a random old school lot for $40 from him - all sorts of odds and ends and a press. then was able to trade the mostly revolver and rifle stuff for pistol stuff as i wanted to start with 9mm. Then waited for killer sales - xtreme was doing free boxes for black friday and I ended up with like 4 free boxes. There was a good 2000 rounds at least that only cost me powder. Pistol is easy enough ill always load it because i prefer my loads. Only pistol i dont load are my carry rounds. But rifle requires enough work i bulk up on it when its cheap so im not at a point where I have to load. Depending on my intentions one day of shooting can be 500+ rounds. If family or friends go its easily 1000 since they cant seem to buy ammo, yet have guns but this is also because i usually dedicate a day since i drive up to the forest. I have to set everything up, take it down, then pick up mine and usually other peoples trash - so i make it worth my while. Those that ive talked to that load shotgun did it for the custom loads more then cost savings. The dollar savings comes at the cost of your time and its usually only pennies your saving. I feel cost savings is hit or mis with loading in general, however being able to create a load specific to you, your gun, and your use is invaluable. Plus you can shoot wacky calibers like 9x25 dillon (want so bad!) Speaking of reloading and such... anyone seen this? I dont like the multibore factor (unless maybe they did a polygon) but im always interested at new or unique designs.

Whats mentally ill? The problem with your idea seems to be it has no defining lines, or gets 'legal citizens' caught up. Can a person be found no longer mentally ill? What about the mental illness caused by military? People can serve and die for their rights to be stripped once found to have PTSD? Is there anyone these days whos not a little sick in the head? So you go through the process once, but then something happens and you become mental and kill people. Does everyone lose their license? Do we now go to yearly checkups? I assume youre assuming everyone has a regular doctor and gets regular checkups... but how in depth to mental health does that go? Just like training if youre not keeping on top of it, why bother? Whos going to pay all those trainers? More taxes? What if they cant get enough trainers to keep with demand? Is this going to be free? Because i dont remember 2A saying you can have your rights if you jump any hoops. I also shouldnt have to figure our how or when i can get in a class to be provided my rights. I feel if we had the rights as they should be, and more people were less ignorant and afraid of guns, more people would have them and seek training. But those on the fense would rather look a certain way to the public then seek training and education about guns. Ive talkes to a few people who purchased guns but due to the stigma keep them locked up and dobt get training Why is it only guns that people feel this way about? Sure i have to have a license and insurance to legally drive, but more people daily are put in danger, injured, and killed by cars that require nothing for me to go buy one off craigslist. None of this was about the military, its about the militia which are the individuals not in the military who are of a certain age who are not in the military. It was to ensure the people have the same power as the government so there could be checks and balances as well as of the military was occupied the people could still fight if needed. I really wish there was a way to only prevent criminals from using guns in a bad way - but that would mean we wouldnt have much of a need to protect ourselves would we? Not trying to be a jerk, but do you believe in our natural rights? Do you believe in the constitution as it was written? Have you read any of the federalist papers? What does shall not infringe mean to you? This also applies to search and seizures and 'innocent until proven guilty'. If we shouldnt be allowed to freely buy guns - even with it explicitly stated in the constitution - what rights do we have? You may not call it asking, but if they can deny me, then im asking. Like i said, theyve gotten in your head. I too used to think there was no need for too many guns, or too much ammo, and its not a bad thing to do background checks - but then i got into guns. I realized the arbitrary laws that have done nothing to stop criminals, but HAVE ended up gettings citizens killed while having to ask to use their rights. Ive known more people who have been denied for no reason and now have to fight to reverse it. It can be months before youre cleared agin. I also dont think its a once and done thing where you get a non violent felony, but lose your right to own a gun. Its no coincidence most shootings happen in a gun free zone, so why would we think making more places or people gun free zones do any good? You keep saying I have to prove this or that... and thats not how America was built or intended to be. Or do you think Ameica is wrong and should scrap the bill of rights and constitution? Individual to dealer, then dealer to individual - sorry i wasnt clear on that. Like i said, trying to simplify it but also put as much out there as possible. Thats not to say who has to cover the fees, just that anytime its transfered to or from an individual, a tax stamp must be purchased. We have a state requirement for the fees.
