  1. A new headunit can be installed anywhere in the car you have the money to put it.;) Seriously. With that said, the glovebox would be the only location other than the stock location that would not be a nightmare for daily use, IMO, in a car that already has NAV installed in the dash.
  2. Parked next to a black LGT with tints and a spoiler in the Walgreens lot tonight at Kedzie and Irving. Might have crossed paths in the parking lot of it weren't for the lady with 200 items at the checkout counter. I, with my stealth skills, checked out at the pharmacy counter before the line had even moved one person.

Saw a blue Legacy on 355 this afternoon with a small scratch on the rear bumper. It should buff out.

  3. So am I to understand that 05-07 calipers will require 04 STi rotors and a spacer to be used with stock 5 spokes?

No other brackets for the front, the STi Brembos will bolt right up?

HMMMM.....is it worth just doing the fronts in anyones opinion?

Nope, you got that about as wrong as possible:lol:

    * any STi caliper (04-07) will fit any LGT (05-08)

    * You must use 5x100 front rotors, only available on the 04 version of the STi

    * Rear calipers require relocation brackets, such as those from Kartboy

    * Rear rotors must be a hybrid type offered by DBA through MachV or from Brembo

  4. Does anyone have suggestions for an outback XT. I want better performance, but I have stock wheels. Can I go with bigger brakes? What is the best bang for the buck.

I know this is a BBK thread, but you can also look into Legacy GT front calipers and rotors as a very cost effective upgrade. Not sure what the Outback stock rears are like, but the Legacy GT, Racing Brake rear kit, and the H6 upgrade are all options.

  5. bought them that way ANSI don't really have an opnion yet. I want thesubtle effect so well see
Obviously I'm biased, but I think they take away from the classic style of the 5 spoke design and I don't like the contrast they add either. But, like you said, person choice which is why we can run 'em anyway we want. Just wish it was summer so mine could go back on.
  6. I know this is purely for looks,

but does anyone w/a silver car have gold Brembo on?

I'm about to get some, but cant decide if the extra money is worht it for black. I am unsure how gold brakes would look on a silver car

I do, they look good. However, given the opportunity, I would have gone with black calipers to keep the car looking a little less noticeable. Gold Brembos are more common and less expensive than the black ones.

  7. Earthworm stopped by last night in his way to the west coast and we fixed his too. It seems like the ACT setup needs far less tension than the SEPC setup to correct the issue. We ended up using a 5Lb spring and bending the bracket a little to get his to quiet down.

That's good to hear. As soon as I read your post, I PM'd him about your spring solution. I had just heard it in person the other night and he was pretty bummed about it. How random that he had a planned stop in your town on his way out west.

  8. Man I would love to have them from what I have heard, but Wheels too....

    You guys are killing me.

I did find a full set of 04 sti calipers for around 1000. Im tempted.....

buying the calipers is the easy part. The rear brackets and rotors add up quick cause you're not likely to find them used.
