  1. Does anyone knows about the product made from Kenwood and called KCA IP 500 ??? It is an interface for the IPOD. Has anyone buyed it and tested it ??

Yes, it connects to the back of a kenwood deck using the CD changer interface. It charges the iPod as well as provides a line level audio connection and some basic control.

You can not use the controls on the iPod while it is connected to the HU with this cable. You can use basic functions on the HU like play, pause, stop, next track and previous track. The ID3 information shows up on the HU screen as well. You can't chnager between artists, albums, but you can use the disc up/down buttons to switch between available playlists.

Its not perfect, but IMO, much better than FM modulation, tape adapter, or a basic line level connection with no control at all.

  2. Nice meeting you Weasel ! I was going to post as well...I was on my way to Diversey Bowl for Bowling with friends !

Traitor...silver huh ! On a second thought...finally...(RAO aside) finally Larry does not feel lonely !

But it is highly remarkable how friendly LGT drivers are to eachother !

Had a feeling it was you. Only a true enthusiast would recognize merging headlights and wave to a car still behind him. Good eye! We were on our way to Portillos for dinner. It was my turn to cook.

  3. anyone put a double din in the cubby hole? I am thinking about buying a LGT and I would like to keep my double din kenwood headunit. Has it been done or is there enough room? sorry for the newbie question thanks in advance

I'm trying my hardest to fit the Kenwood in there. It's not a money problem though. There is a steel beam running right to left behind the cubby. The single din conversion piece places the HU just above it, but a double din (ala Kendwoon DDX) looks like it will not clear it when mounted flush.

I'm going to try and build a mock-up and see if mounting the HU more horizontally will work. this will cause the screen not to be flush with the bezel in the off position, but when turned on, you should be able to adjust the screen tilt to compensate.

I just think the factory location, which has been done, is too low for a double din screen.
