  1. I follow them and saw that. I have the AVO J-pipe, but a cattted downpipe from them would be sweet. They appear to do really good work
  2. Got my beer summit T-shirt and mug tonight. It was a fun February http://i.imgur.com/9jB3kC4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FkWwn8x.jpg
  3. So Saturday night my buddy parks his fleet 2018 Subaru Legacy behind mine and comments that he wishes he had a trunk spoiler and brake light. I hit the brake and he notices that it didn't light up. Sure enough I prop my snow brush on the brake pedal and it doesn't light up. So it appears I've had my spoiler brake light out the whole time I've had the car lol. I took down the carpeting and the light wasn't plugged in all the way. Wasn't snapped together but it works great now.
  4. Got my inspection sticker today. The attendant kinda gave my primitive skid plate a side eyed look, but other than that nothing seemed to make him blink. I noticed that they're a lot more thorough looking for things, but I passed. Not sure they even noticed the AVO J-pipe
  5. I'm sure it's possible to get out. The bolt is small, but so is your area to work.
  6. ^ correct. The angled bolt is for the oil cooler and the bolt straight down is one of the mounting points for the heat shield between the exhaust and the drivers side cylinder head.
  7. Without a lift it doesn't look like fun at all. You did it though.
  8. July 2009 as well. Practically twins from the series. Only a couple hundred separate us FLlegacy http://i.imgur.com/3nuTBhO.jpg
  9. Cleaned my MAF sensor and reset the ecu to relearn. Due for a new air filter, so I clean the sensor with crc maf spray.
  10. The fact that humble has his fog lights zip tied might have led to needing adjustment. Just throwing this out there.
  11. Didn't touch the support bearing, but I changed the transmission cradle bushings to energy suspension poly bushings. I did the bushings and the group n transmission mount all at once.
  12. New England weather is nutty in general, but March is a piece of work. Saturday was nearly 60, and today a nor'easter with about 8-10 inches of snow. I got off lucky for snow totals
  13. Snow changed my workout schedule. Instead of abs/cardio it was a back/cardio day from shoveling.
  14. That's good to know. I was just going to pick up a used sti/wrx pedal, but this would be cheaper and easy as well.
  15. I've been driving without a pad on the clutch pedal since I bought the car. Finally put something on. Not difficult, but more tedious than I anticipated. http://i.imgur.com/zLQOOta.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lSXb4mD.jpg I'll have to replace the accelerator pedal to match ay some point, since my 2010 just has the black plastic one.
  16. Eh Cusco struts for 5th Gen? Didn't know that. Is it a wrx fitment?
  17. Shifting into 1st while moving really shouldn't be done anyway, but it's rough to get in unless you're nearly at a stop. Think it's pretty normal from what I've read. 1st to 2nd can be notchy for me at times but more when the transmission is cold. 3rd to 2nd is the one that can be a pain unless double clutching sometimes. I use AMS Oil Severe gear 75W90 for the record. I'm about 20k miles into it since I drained and filled when I first got my car. Overall I've been pretty happy with the gear oil. A little thick when the temperature drops into the teens or lower but still shifts and warms up quick enough.
  18. I've never done this, but from the pictures you can surmise a few things. 1 : fmic 2 : fuel rails 3 : phenolic gaskets 4 : maybe some type of spacer between tgv and manifold. 5 : bpv Could be more things but that should be the main ones
  19. Nearly lost my L7 courtesy light slide. I hit a bone jarring pot hole the shook the chip loose from the courtesy light projector. Luckily it stayed in the door when I took it out to investigate. Was panicking for a few minutes since I couldn't find it at all
  20. Scored some nice tools at work for free since they were just going to dump them. 3 analog Brown & Sharpe micrometers and a digital Mitutoyo depth mic and caliper. http://i.imgur.com/srMAvp2.jpg
  21. Replaced a burned out driver's side low beam. Went with the wheel well method because it's wet out and no garage. Let's just say there was a bit of cursing, but mostly trying to get the dust cover back on. Didn't even bother doing the passenger side because I was annoyed. I just used some Hella bulbs off Amazon to replace the more expensive Sylvania that lasted about a year. I'm going HID and leaving this bulb nonsense behind in the near future.
