Project Phoenix: 05 Wagon Restoration

So clean......so much want. -
Congrats! Can't wait to see the power curve on this beast.

Finally installed the upgraded front/rear sways with endlinks and AVO reinforcement brackets. Why I waited so long to do so is beyond me, the car feels tremendously more planted. As in significantly less body roll and unless I am going crazy the T1's are handling road imperfections better. As of today all I have to do is take the driver side axle off to replace the leaking axle seal, install the carbon fiber duck bill, replace the window tinting and remove the 3m clear bra that has more surface scars than the surface of the moon.

I guess in this regard CA has an advantage. E85 is becoming more common every year. I have at least three stations on my way home and that's because I haven't bothered to look for more.

Couldn't quite finish installing everything I wanted but got close enough. The control arms with KCA334 and all other bushings replaced are in. Huge inprovement in driveability and the intermitent shake while braking at 60mph is completely gone. In other words the OEM bushings were done. I have a spare set of Spec B aluminum Arms now or maybe I'll sell them. Today I'll finish installing the bump steer kit since I couldn't get the tie rod to budge and will know borrow the proper tool from Autozone. I'll finish installing the sways as well. Alright, rant is over.

My current motor is a 9.0:1 compression motor, flex fuel tuned. You'll be limited in how aggressive your tune can be (ignition wise) on Cali piss 91 octane but that's about it. I'm running almost identical boost levels in 91 and E85 and by similar I mean maybe a 2-3 psi difference if that. My high boost setting fyi is 25 psi. A higher compression motor will most definitely be more responsive off boost. Sometimes I make it all the way to work without hitting any boost

Would you mind posting a picture showing how much poke if any you have with the wheels? Also are you having to run ridiculous amounts of negative camber? Spacers to clear the Wilwoods? My rear fenders are rolled with a slight pull it sounds like yours are unmolested. Any clearance issues in the back? Sorry for the rant I am torn between the two colors but leaning more to the silver.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little jelly.

I'm Stage 3 (3.5?) with a fairly long list of mods. I'm more than happy with my current power level and rarely ever run it at full power (500 WHP) At least when it comes to power mods the goal post is done moving, but in other areas at times it wants to move. For example, getting a paint job or upgrading the headlights, etc. On another note I felt the JDM double din was without a doubt worth it.

For those of you that have reached the "end of the road." Meaning your cars are essentially as you've wanted them to be.... What is next? I would't say I am 100% done but I am without a doubt 90% of the way there. I have front/rear swaybars and control arms with upgraded bushings pending installation and I'd like to get a DAMD wheel, and upgrade the pioneer double din with a more modern one. Other than that the car is essentially done. Now a days I spend my time figuring out how to make the car more DD friendly. For example, adding a vibrant ultraquiet resonator to the Stromung exhaust (also pending) or wheels that won't rub when hitting big bumps with the whole family loaded up. I sincerely struggle with moving on, mostly because this is my most involved build ever and the one I've essentially hung unto to completion. I also absolutely love driving the car and finding anything equivalent will cost upwards of 50k. On top of that I would want to tinker with it. In any case, I just wanted to hear what you long time owners think.

That makes for a very fun daily driver, congrats. -
You might have mentioned it and I missed it...... What wheels are those? Specs?
