WTB: R180 rear diff, 2008 Spec B
Gabo replied to chanceparker's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
A couple of years ago I thought my rear diff was done. I found out then that the Spec B rear diff uses a pinion-yoke from an R160. The pinion-yoke between the R180 and R160 are suppose to be interchangeable. Basically you can buy an R180 from an STI, swap the pinion-yoke and call it a day. At least that was my plan, turns out my rear diff was fine so ended up not needing to go down this route. Here's more info for reference..... https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1249910 -
So, I've been contemplating options in way of quieting my exhaust. When I upgraded to a DOM 1.5 the Stromung exhaust got louder and with a bit of drone. I have a vibrant resonator I was planning to add but I'm afraid it will ruin the Stromung sound. The Stromung is an uber rare exhaust but I'm contemplating selling it rather than modifying it. I have a Q300 collecting dust in the garage and I figure I could buy some XForce mufflers and custom fit them to the Q300. Am I crazy? Should I just add a resonator to the Stromung and call it a day?

Gex what are the specs on those RPF-1's? Are you running a spacer to clear the Brembos? Thanks

This makes me wonder if my OEM fans are a little tired. Sometimes I see 203 degrees in 88-90 degree weather.

Right now I'm on 17x9+38 on 245/40/17. Rolled and slight pull on the rear and unmolested out front. OEM front camber bolst maxed out at -1.5 camber. Now I'm concerned I'm rubbing the T1's. On really big bumps sometimes I'll hear a rubbing sound upfront, I figure it was the fenders not the coilovers I also have the whiteline bump steer correction kit and all control arm bushings replaced, including the one for caster.

Pictures please. I've been considering a 18 x 8.5 +38.

Legacy GT rotated turbo thread

I'm flex fuel but I wouldn't call it plug and play. You'll need a custom tune to run it. I wouldn't run E85 any other way though. -

Is there a particular reason you don't wish to run E85 for the long term? I've been on E85 for about two years now. I make 370 WHP on straight Camifornia 91 octane fuel and 500 whp on E85. Yes! I picked up 130 whp switching to E85 -

Your advantage is not living in CA like me. In my case I would have to go with the spoolinator in hopes of keeping the car visual "friendly". Are you already use to the 450 whp? I made 500 whp on a DOM 1.5XT-R on E85 but I rarely run the car in the high boost setting let alone go over 12 psi very often. -
So..... I have quite a few oem parts I might have to unload due to a relocation. I normally keep all oem parts in case I ever decide to sell the car and the buyer wishes to go back to stock. I have front and rear Spec B brake calipers, oem exhaust, all 4 OEM wheels with tires, OEM top mount intercooler, a Q300 and a few more things I can't remember. Are OEM parts worth the hassle of posting and trying to sell them? I'll need them gone within the next 40 days.

Sound clip?

Add a duckbill or not? That is the question.
