  1. Where in Maryland your at. If your close by. I can help you tracing the exhaust leak. I have access to a 2 post car lift.
  2. My wife sister drove the Legacy and backed it up hard against a light post boulder in the parking light with her mother, daughter, my wife and my born son (week old) in the vehicle. My wife was to tired to drive because of the birth of our son. My wife sister daughter put all her weight on the passenger side rocker panel and broke the clips while entering and exiting the vehicle . I'm getting the rear bumper painted, OEM brand new rocker panel painted and installed and getting the front driver fender fixed. It was pushed in by a little bit but enough to have a gap (due to pressure) between the front bumper, headlight and fender meet.
  3. Admin, may have to change the topic to food thread instead of living, lol.
  4. Saw my painter yesterday and we scheduled the Legacy for tomorrow. Should be done by Saturday or Sunday. The only thing to do now is clear out the trunk just in case if he needs to remove the rear bumper and go to the bank.
  5. My dad started with me in the late 70s to learn the basic stuff like oil change, filters, stereo, etc then customizing cargo vans (cargo vans used to be the thing back then). That where it all took off from there. Then I hanged out with my cousins more often while growing up that race car's and Motorcycle's. Welding, fabricating that stuff I also learned from friends that own mechanic shops now. This is how I learn how to do full restoration. I learned over the years with German cars is you need a set of Torx and special tools that you have to fab up or get it from the dealer. That's the life of my story and my wife hates it because she is very afraid that our son going to follow in his father foot step.
  6. If I think about it we tack weld and hammer it on a 1929 Essex rat rod, 1940's GMC Truck, 1976 Nova, etc.. We did use baseball bat on the Acura's/Honda's fenders using the top of the tire as a guide.
  7. This is how the newer generation roll fenders . We used to do it with baseball bats back in the day.
  8. Oil change, rear diff oil, CVT oil, TPMS replacement and reset, air filter and cabin filter. Got in touch with my painter. Legacy going into the body shop next weekend.
  9. I'm not taking the cover off for the Diff. I'm aware of the front plug gasket. I'm more concern doing the fluid for the CVT. I never done one on a CVT this will be my first. I'm already aware about the CVT trans has to be at a certain temperature to have the correct amount of CVT fluid in.
  10. OEM Subaru order Should be arriving to the shop today. Time to to take it easy on my back (getting old). Till I get to work on the Legacy this Friday on the 2 post lift. Doing the following for the 100k mile mark CVT trans fluid and replace the o-ring for the fill/check plugs Front/rear diff gear oil (was replaced at 70,921 miles and it was pitch black). I'm debating to have it done. Motor oil/filter with additives Brake Flush Power Steering flush Coolant flush Air/Cabin filter (replaced at 56,145 miles) Replace (1) TPMS due to low battery (I had one TPMS replace at 80k mile) Then I can call up my body/painter and schedule the Legacy in.
  11. (1) 28103AJ00A, TPMS (1) 806916050, O Ring (CVT) (1) 806911080, O Ring (CVT) (10) SOA427V1660, CVTF-II
  12. Fixed the can-bus Led on my Euro. I had to use a decoder. This weekend taking the Legacy up to the shop to see which TPMS have a low battery.
  13. Detailed the dashboard, door panels, center console. Took it for a drive with my son. I notice the TPMS may have a low battery (flashing and stayed on) checked all (4) PSI and there in spec.
  14. Adjust all (4) tire psi. The TPMS won't reset itself (driving over 44 miles). TPMS just flash a few times then stay on. Found a missing 30a fuse in slot 27 for the window relay at the instrument panel. This is probably why I had to keep re-syncing the windows?
  15. Rear quarter Window regulator is finally done. I should raise hell with the dealership body shop. Found out there were (2) loose bolts and the side molding was not installed correctly due to bent mounting clip because there were another bolt behind the molding for the regulator this is how we discover the molding not being install correctly and the paint chipped off around the edges. Waiting on a used SRS unit and H7 mounting clips to arrive.
  16. Took the Legacy out and notice the low oil light came on/off on the way to the gas station and grocery store. Finally made it back home to put oil in the vehicle after I got done and closed the hood. It was snowing heavy.
  17. Had my son in the car and got to my parents neighborhood and the rear quarter window dropped on the other vehicle (motor is fine). I think it came off the track but again there is no B-pillar. I'm taking the car this Saturday to the shop and thought I be working on it. I saw videos on how to remove that glass and now I decided to have my friend (shop owner) do it and he agree to it and he will get to it by the middle of next week. Edit: New OEM window regulator is on order (1 in stock local) and waiting to be deliver to the shop that's where the vehicle been at since Saturday.
  18. Got tired running to the shop all the time to use the Snap-On Diagnostic tool. I end up getting a iCarsoft MB II. I just updated the software on it just now. This scanner suppose to read SRS, ABS, BAS, ESP, Air/heat Condition, Can-Bus, etc. I will put this scanner to the test sometime this week, before I rip out the SRS N2/7 control unit on the Benz. Dealer wants $1,400ish without tax for the unit. Waiting on my friend that works over at Mercedes to see how much he can get the unit for under his employee discount.
  19. Called my painter and he is backed up. I need to call him again after March 1. The orange/yellow light that my wife mention. I drove the Legacy the other day around the block before it snowed and the light was not on.
  20. Just remember, My wife saying there is a yellow/orange light on the dash on the Subi. I'm expecting low tire PSI or maintenance light. I got so caught up troubleshooting the SRS system on the MB for weeks now and forgot all about it . I have to do it today when she get home tonight because we are expecting snow.
  21. Spend so many hours troubleshooting and scanning the SRS system. I even had my friend over at the dealership scan the vehicle with the dealer scan software and was kind of expected that I need a new SRS unit for the MB. I know this will be an expensive part but waiting to see my friend employee discount will be on the unit.
  22. Nothing to the Legacy except for wiper blades and oil change. It needs to go into the body shop with the new OEM rocker panel. I need to schedule that with my body man. Been occupied with my other vehicle on the SRS light. I have narrowed it down to the SRS N2/7 unit that is not communicating (can-bus). I already put in a new fuse (total of 4, found one that I could not get power from my test light) but need to see if I can clear the codes using the shop Snap-On. If it does not clear the code. I'm pulling the SRS unit out of the vehicle. That mean the whole center console needs to come out including the HU, Air/heat unit, rear blower fan, etc.
  23. 2013 close to 100k no CVT fluid change but planing to change it out this Spring. I'm kind of skeptical on doing it since I never did a CVT before. I do have a exchanger/flush machine at the shop. I did replace the front diff and rear diff fluid around 71k.
  24. Congrats and welcome to the family club Other news - I need to get in touch with my body man to get the Subi in for rear bumper and passenger side rocker panel repair. My friend told be that there are rumors that Subaru is bringing back the Legacy GT but not sure if it will come in Manual?
  25. I see the Main and overflow tank. I had to look at the picture again but did see you added a vent line. that's good you don't want the gas to flow back into the house. Your adding manhole access to the tanks above ground?
