Does anyone have a comparison to the included bushing in these VS the group N bushings?
-
In.
I've run e85 in other cars, but stopped because of the hassle of finding it when away from home. Flexfuel would be a lifesaver.
-
I'll check the axles tonight. Someone I know had a similar issue with an OBXT.
It's a stg3 car with a 20g. Brake boosted to ~10psi@3k and launched.
Dont mistake me asking for me being surprised.
I have an extra trans+rear diff at a friends house.
-
For those who have had rear diff failures, what symptoms were you having?
My car started making a grinding/popping noise coming from the back tonight.
It was one of those "hey watch this" moments

This should be stickied.... I didn't get current measurements, but setup the way the 'guide' shows my battery would drain in about a week of non driving. No issues after changing to underdog's setup.

Inventory shown is not correct. It still hasn't accounted for the ones I bought a few hours ago.

You guys must not know how this works... Buy now, ask questions later...
If it was a price mistake, they would have fixed it yesterday when he posted

Robotised ???
I assume DSG/dual clutch. The manuals that are computer controlled.

Collected the bounty 2 years ago
Swinging from idle to near rev limiter in every gear like they should. Instant gear changes, handling 440whp on stock autos
Already been programming them locally for nearly 3 years or so
Can you change the redline shift point?
-
It's more or less normal. As in, it has been reported here by many different owners. I am guessing you are not stock? Basically the transmision doesn't respond quick enough for how fast the car revs up.
stg 3....
Its odd because it's not every time:spin:
$300 bounty for anyone that can crack the TCU?
-
Next question. Sometimes the car 'forgets' to shift out of first and hits redline at 7200rpm.
It only happens when accelerating from a stop at WOT.
It doesn't happen every time, maybe 2% of the time it does.
Any ideas?
-
I've read about that guy. Personally I think he's full of it. He might have found another ECU table relating to the AT, but he still doesn't have access to the TCU.
I have a hexmod VB and diff bushings...
-
Has anyone noticed that the car is 'faster' when locked in a gear manually vs. letting the TCU figure it out?
Its especially noticeable in higher (4/5) gears.
-
If you got this far, you don't need the reassembly instructions...

So I've had my valve body mod installed for about 600 miles now. Everything had smoothed out but the downshift from 2nd to 1st. It's pretty violent. I can feel it through the whole car.
Is there any bushings or anything I should replace or keep an eye on due to the added stress from the harder down shifts?

In sport, or "D"?
In sport there's an extra set of clutch packs engaged(low speed coast/something like that) that will feel harsh to some.
In "D" it should feel normal.
Climber D can take a while to respond, he's a busy guy. VBmods are not his day job. Plan on being down for ~3 weeks, shipping to him, modify, shipping back.

ADR-8 17x7 +42 wheels do not clear the front brakes.
-
Has anyone seen Cobb's new "fix" posted on nasioc? Essentially they tee in the fpr to the bpv hose rather than the plenum itself so all cylinders are utilized in the vacuum signal.
Mr spank?
Seems like it would do something similar to adding more line to the setup.
-
So it rained yesterday, and I had to go out and play....
When launching the car the front tires spin a little?
Car is stg2, hexmods valvebody, diff bushings, etc
-
I have one installed. What was your question?
I've been thinking about one too...
How much cabin noise is added?
Any drawbacks?
Worth the $$?
-
Do they all have a lot of slop when in park, like roll back and or forth?
yes. They will roll ~1ft.
All automatic transmissions are like this.
-
Cool thanks.
Was able to drive it today. Going from park to drive the first time of the day was super harsh. Felt like the car jumped. Does this get better as well as the shifts or is it going to be like that every cold start? Other than that, it's starting to feel great.
Its the one complaint I've heard about, that I've never noticed.
Make sure the car is idled down before shifting, taping the gas should lower it from ~1200 to ~700rpm

Finally after 2 years of owning this car I am now running ClimberDave's valve body. Long story short, Dave is the man. Helped and advised me throughout my rough patches with my transmissions and is great to deal with.
I was only able to drive it a couple of miles around my area (lots of traffic and lights) since the install, so no real review from me. I can say that the shifts seems very quick, however, I do get a harsh bump from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st - read that this will be corrected after 150 miles after the TCU relearns. Do you guys recommend resetting the TCU or just let it relearn on its own? Hope to take it on the highway this weekend and see how it performs then.
It softens up after awhile.
Just let it relearn without resetting it.

Installed my hexmods vb and diff bushings this weekend.
worth every penney.

We thought that about the 5th gen models, until we found another table which sets maximum RT by rpm. Once you raise the limits in there, it's possible to raise RT all the way to 512.
Changing RT helps a lot, and seems to increase line pressure and shift points slightly as well. Changing CT is less obvious but in logs you can see the time taken to shift drops significantly, and revs drop immediately and no 'floating' around. Subjectively the shifts are firmer. YMMV and all that.
Link or is that information not public?
I remember reading somewhere that there's a max 'value' for the RT programed somewhere in the ecu can be changed, but even after adjusting that it still only operated to 408. The TB didn't open all the way.
I go googling late at night, I come back with more knowledge, but no idea where it came from:lol:

You want hexmods(climberD) VB and diff bushings.
If you truly are pushing 400whp+(larger than a 20g) you may want to look into some of the services IPT offers.
