  1. Do you need any other parts for the swap? Are you going to make it to BAM?
  2. Red would look hot and satin white pearl wouldn't look bad either.
  3. I know you got a hell of a deal! It was kind of like my SpecB 6MT driveline/steering rack swap that cost me $3K fully professionally installed, a deal that no one else should expect to find. Figure in that I also got mine professionally painted satin white pearl (3 stage), the body shop did the panel swap, and I have all of the plumbing for the washer headlights plus another set of headlights (non washer), an authentic S402 grille and two other OEM JDM grilles.
  4. Easily $5K, and probably closer to $6K. I need to go through all of my receipts and add it up. I also ended up buying parts that I can't use (like the beam for an A-C swap) and duplicates of parts (headlights and grilles). If I did it again, I would start with one of the JDM front clips that are on eBay since you can get a lot of the wiring and brackets that you need
  5. I got the USDM turn signals into the JDM headlights. I'm not 100% sure about the seal keeping moisture out at this point.
  6. Patiently waiting. I plan on knocking this out and installing Hella horns today. I plan on using the horn harness to get power for the HID leveling so I only need 1 wire/side to go through the firewall.

  8. I disconnected my turn signals and parking lights on my JDM headlights and everything is back to normal with my "tail clearance" circuit. Now I need to find out why so I can get my front turn signals back.
  9. Any idea why the 15A "tail clearance" fuse would constantly blow after installing JDM headlights?
  10. The OEM lip skirts won't fit the USDM bumper without significant modification, because of the difference in shape of the two bumpers. I think I've had them for about a year and a half now and they were part of the reason I wanted a JDM front end.
  11. I'll have to take a look. I just wired the turn signal up to one pair (red or blue plus one black) and tried the turn signal.
  12. You'll also notice that the USDM body side connection for high/low beam is the same connector that you need to connect to the leveler motor on the JDM headlight. I was able to get those connections off of the totaled SpecB that I got the 6MT drivetrain from. It should be an easy item to get off of a totaled car because there is almost no demand for them.
  13. Yes, I cut that one on the JDM headlight harness and then mated with that one from the USDM headlight harness. The USDM headlight harness connection is only high/low beam. This thread was very helpful (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/jdm-headlight-install-walkthough-249267.html). Label, before you cut the connection off of the JDM headlight harness.
  14. The piece on the left I cut the 2 black wires and the red and blue right before the shrink tube. The piece on the right I put my LED bulb in the new bulb holder/socket and then tested with a 9-Volt to make sure I had the correct two wires (green and white, in my case). If you had a switchback LED in this bulb holder/socket, you could connect the blue, red and one of the black wires to the three wires coming out of the new bulb holder/socket. I accidentally blew my hazard fuse connecting the wrong wires from that piece on the left. The function of the red and blue wires is determined by how you plug that piece on the left into the OEM bulb holder/socket.
  15. The top one is turn signal, which are the 2 parts you ordered from Amazon plus the OEM bulb holder off of of your stock headlights. The bottom one is high/low beams and I bought 2 extra USDM headlight harnesses to mate with the existing JDM harness on the JDM headlight. I cut off that large rectangular connector off of the JDM harness that has 6 wires terminated in it. Alternatively you could cannibalize the harness off of your USDM headlights.
  16. Mine was the same. Is there a question?
  17. I have the Grimmspeed TMIC that has the gap at the front of the TMIC splitter.
  18. I have seen some Outbacks in Japan paint everything body color so that they don't have the black trim around the bottom. The bumper allows any D-F grille versus the USDM bumper which only allows the OEM grille or a modded grille. I also have OEM bumper skirts that won't fit the USDM bumper. The bumper allows you to run the aluminum hood from the 05-09 LGT hood instead of the 08-09 OB only steel hood.
  19. There's no splicing/cutting of OEM wires. I just plugged the OEM bulb holder (the part that holds the bulb in the headlight assembly) into the OEM wiring and then the hacked harness (that had resistors on it) plugs into the OEM bulb holder and then you splice the cables between the new bulb holder.
  20. Exactly, I cut off one of the teeth so that it would fit. Make sure to take off the o-ring first before you cut.
  21. I didn't take any pics when I had it connected to the headlight but this is where I cut the harness to connect to the stock bulb holder on the right. The bulb holder on the left I tested with a 9-volt battery to find the two wires to connect to, green and white in my case.
