  1. It was a snug fit, if I had trimmed any off the inlet it probably wouldn't have fit at all.
  2. TGVs removed, but I left the divider wall in place because I don't have the patience to cut it out with a dremel. Although I did smooth out the lip that the butterfly plate sits on, and sharpened the leading edge of the divider wall. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3804/13254618063_df07c54c04_b.jpg Got most of it all back together today. GS phenolic spacers are in, TGVs are in, AVO inlet is in, and I bypassed the throttle body heater while I was in there. The only thing stopping me is to get a new T fitting and some vacuum line so I can attach the 3-port EBCS to the inlet. I should have some time to wrap it up on Friday. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7134/13254472665_24c6756b00_b.jpg All in all, I think putting it all back together was easier than removal. Although I did forget the bracket for the upper coolant reservoir, but at that point I didn't really care.
  3. Also, looking for a spare set of side mirror caps, if anybody has some that they would like to part with, let me know!
  4. Girlfriend's Focus had a dead alternator that took out a weak battery, so I spent today getting her car sorted out instead of working on the TGVs. Had a little time to remove the rods and valve plate s, smooth out the divider wall, and tap the holes. Need to get different hardware tomorrow to seal up the holes from the motors/sensors.
  5. Have no fear, it's in good hands! I have some more mods in the works that I think you'll approve of...
  6. Intake manifold is off. I kept reading about people complaining about "that one bolt", and now I understand. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3798/13177094653_ef255d5ae5_h.jpg AVO inlet, GS phenolic spacers, and new TGV/IM gaskets coming on Monday. Going to remove the TGVs tomorrow. EDIT: For 140k miles I was very pleased to find no shaft play in the turbo.
  7. My recap from 100AW is up on MotoIQ, http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/3409/Rally-in-the-100-Acre-Wood-2014.aspx
  8. Thanks Spoonwacker! I believe Higgins was having some overheating issues, so they popped the hood to check it out in transit between stages and then forgot to replace the hood pins. They finished the stage a mere 10 seconds behind L'Estage! Pretty impressive.
  9. Here is my coverage from last weekend's kickoff to the Rally America series. Sno*Drift 2014 was cold as hell, but tons of fun! http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/3373/Frozen-Beer-and-Rally-Cars-SnoDrift-2014.aspx
  10. Do any of you guys live in Sun Prairie?
  11. Brought out the strobes for the first time in a long while, 3/4 shot needs more work. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7326/10199633384_3e16bbd600_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3692/10199624794_b84ae9ab71_b.jpg
  12. I was trying to compare the graphs of 'then' and 'now', but apparently the smoothing factor was turned up to '99' last time, whereas it was set at '6' this time. Curves are roughly the same, but obviously the new one is much more noisy. Dumb.
  13. Gonna dyno the wagon again this afternoon, any guesses on the numbers? Invidia Q300 CNT catted 3" DP GS catless UP Perrin afta-maf intake w/ K&N filter GS EBCS Perrin TMIC Forge BPV Infamous eTune for 17.8psi
  14. Moved into a new apartment last week, needed to move all my detailing supplies into the garage storage. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2856/9714887110_763429dc40_b.jpg All set up! http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3754/9711655359_5659955327_b.jpg
  15. Moved into a new apartment last week so I don't have to park my wagon on the street anymore! http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3731/9687320511_a42e7107b0_b.jpg Unfortunately I had to park it outside the first couple of nights before I got my parking pass, and I didn't notice the sprinkler system right in front of the car. Hard water spots everywhere... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7314/9687325671_9c7a3b19d5_b.jpg And thats after it was washed.
  16. Tactrix Cable shows up today, I'll just post a log and see what you guys think. Also should have my new O2 sensor in on Friday along with a GS 3-port EBCS, then its tune time from Shamarr.
  17. Started paying attention to the freeze frame data on my CELs. Does 105.33 g/s @ 3650 rpms w/ 31% throttle seem right?
  18. Thanks man. Tactrix 2.0 ordered as well as a new front O2 sensor.
  19. VAG COM cable showed up yesterday, can't get it to work for the life of me. Just gonna suck it up and get the Tactrix. Had this guy show up today and threw it on quick, tried out the yellow spring (medium) first and it seemed fine. Switched out for the blue spring (soft) and it got a little quieter but still held boost without issue. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7350/9510952973_ff98c70a67_b.jpg Washed it for the first time in a week or two, it needed it. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3813/9513738950_6c38e69e80_b.jpg I was very happy to see the paint was still looking good, its been about 6 months since I've polished the whole car and I can be a little negligent with my washing procedure. I'm sure part of this is due to the OptiCoat Pro holding up so well. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3819/9510947037_129d830843_b.jpg Cleaned up the engine bay a little bit too while I was at it. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3791/9513741300_07ff5127fb_b.jpg Next project is to try and make a cold air box for the intake while I'm waiting for a certain JermTheElf to holla at a brotha about a 3D printed gauge pod.
