As good of a comparison as I can get, but Kelly Moss didn't have an intercooler blower so we were seeing a lot of heat soak on the dyno. I was expecting it to be less than P&L's Dynojet, but certainly not such a drastic decrease. I might try it again with a laser thermometer to check IC temps with a turbo blanket, a better blower setup, and a water sprayer to try and cool it down between runs. Solid lines are with the GTX3067R, and the dashed lines are stage 2 VF40.

That was depressing.

It's fantastic. Jr really spent most of his time focusing on the drivability aspect, dialing in specific rpm ranges on light throttle and only did a few full pulls to get it sorted. It runs better than it ever did with a Cobb map or eTune.

Dynoing again tomorrow at Kelly Moss to compare
-
Dyno graph. And compared to my last VF40 dyno. I'll try and get it on Kelly-Moss's mustang dyno again soon to see a more direct comparison.

Even with the manifold off I thought there was no way that inlet would fit, I just had to put it on before the TGVs then wedge it out of the way. I'll post the graph print out tomorrow once I scan it at work, but it made a beautiful curve with the relevant numbers being 358/376 @ 22psi on 93 octane after we dialed it down to give my bearings some relief. Jr said we could have pushed it to 400hp, but definitely didn't recommend that route so I followed his guidance. Once I build an engine we'll push it a little further.

That is crazy, what an asshole. -
Ready for tuning tomorrow.
-
Fun fact, the plugs for the evap solenoid and coolant temp sensor are completely identical, and located right next to each other.
-
Shes running, but has an issue with the coolant temp sensor. It sits pegged at 248F from start up...

I'm mostly set on the cans because... I already have them. Definitely don't want to relocate, but I think a smaller battery should work. Gives me an excuse to get rid of the garish red Optima for something black, maybe I'll put that in Sentra if it fits.
-
My next problem is where the hell I'm going to put my dual radium catch cans, there's no room left! Thinking maybe get a microbattery and mount them next to it?
-
The hammered finish worked exactly as I'd hoped, to hide all the gouges from removing the mounting bosses!
-
Trimmed the "webbing" from between the runners (it always gets so dirty there!), cut off the mounting bosses for the OEM intercooler, fuel line bracket, and turbo inlet. Sanded it down, cleaned it up, then spray painted it with Rustoleum "Hammered Finish" gunmetal metallic.

Stock location 3" inlet GTX3067R installed, Perrin inlet, with ID1000s, Radium rails, TGV delete, GrimmSpeed thermoresin spacers, Aeromotive X1 afpr, and DW300C. Basically looks like a stage 2 setup to the casual observer. I dig it. Wrapping it up tomorrow and then heading down to Chicago to have JR tune it. Its not going to be crazy, but it should be fun.

I love that brown. I wish my wagon was brown. -
RIP stock block, you've served me well.

Slowly getting there. I just try not to think about what I've spent already, and what it's going to cost to get it "finished". All the interior stuff was "cheap" at $3k... Will probably end up being a really expensive $9k Subaru. LOL

Need to see the hooked up wagons!!!!!!! Volume-2

I agree. It definitely was something I debated, but (and I hope I won't regret it) it was something I was willing to risk. -

Coming soon in my next MotoIQ update. They're EvoX Recaros on Planted Engineering brackets. Pairs perfect with the DAMD steering wheel, completely changes the driving experience for the better. -

I've actually been driving the car a ton lately (mileage in the past month has been more than the past two years). I don't know why I love this dumb old wagon so much, but I do.
