This noise is coming back more routinely, but still intermittent. Idling away or very light throttle, no noise. Noise is starting to be more present in normal acceleration, about 2.5-3k rpms and lasts as long as I keep load the same. As soon as I back out the noise stops. Heavy load maybe noise, but can't hear over exhaust. Will not make noise in neutral while revving the engine. It's not really temperature, rpm, or speed dependent. It sounds like something rotating while hitting a heat shield or similar thin metal. Going to pull the down pipe tomorrow, but open to other ideas.

Too good to pass up

Man you could have just bought an overpriced 08 obxt 5spd for that kind of money -
Hearing a ticking sound under load. Sounds like it's coming from under the car, but haven't been able to identify where. It only lasts a few seconds before I have to get out of throttle. It almost sounds like a bunch of zip ties around the driveshaft. Initial visual inspection showed no obvious marks on the drive shafts or axles. Wondering what worst case scenario is. Would a turbo going sound like that? It's not really a squeally sound, and performance is still fine. Edit: Drove some back roads for boost. No noise.

Last year I took my OZ wheels off the car while replacing my nailed up michelins. About 6-7 punctures, 3 plugs, and only one tire unscathed. Guess that's the cost of moving into a neighborhood still under construction. Anyway, plan was to restore the OZs. They were about 5 years old and starting to show clear coat wear. I'd scuff them down, somehow paint them gold and install new tires. In the meantime, I painted my old stock wheels white for kicks and giggles. It was actually a pretty enjoyable look, if not for needing to wipe them down every four hours. One. Freaking. Year. Later. Finally got around to even dismounting the michelins.

Unfortunately I've seen enough top gear episodes making fun of Richard for buying Porsches with red calipers. Granted my car is black but I couldn't imagine putting red/blue/hyper highlighter calipers on. Will probably stick with silver even over brembo gold. But, since this is a white car, I'd go with something like Subaru sapphire blue over can't turn left blue steel or wrb. That dark blue looks decent on M cars...

2015+ Steering Rack conversion Q.
seanyb505 replied to MDSubie4's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
There's a huge thread on this I think in the suspension and brakes section: https://www.legacygt.com/topic/109310-underdog-motorsports-2015-sti-steering-rack-swap/ Brand new Sti racks will come with tie rods. I used whiteline bumpsteer kit on my 05 lgt and didn't need to trim anything. Some folks mention a thinner jam nut. I have the sti solid link. Didn't notice any areas of too little engagement between column or rack ends. I had it on and off a few times trying to line up my steering wheel. The thread will have bits of user feedback as far as lines and pump. I'm on a relatively new reman that's too noisy, but otherwise fine. No additional sti lines needed for me. -
That conflict has so far impacted me in zero way, not even holding up my legacy radio situation. But ugh man that stuff has hit people in the worst ways. Also hope it's resolved. In today's first world 4th gen legacy problems, I rain-x'd my windshield for the 2nd time since having it installed in January. The inside of this windshield has been particularly funky. Invisible glass ( I know) hasn't done anything to keep the inside clean longer than a week. Even wiping it with the blue shop paper towels makes it cleaner right now. What do you guys use to treat the inside of your windshields?

12 years ago my wife and I moved from south Florida to upstate south Carolina. I know exactly how you've felt. We're still super stoked about the changes in season lol. It's still hot as balls during summer, but you can enjoy the outdoors 99% more of the year compared to the inside of a dog's mouth that is Florida

No sorry I'm stuck at home this weekend. Maybe something in fall -
My ej255 tune is based on the o2 sensor behind the turbo.

I've had the same radiator for years now. Zero issues. -
Dishwasher's Build Thread

Edited: Couple other while you're there and this is so old should probably replace it things: Arp head bolts? New edits beyond xt2005 reply below: New hoses galore. Oem pre bended parts are nice, but can probably accomplish all goals with parts store stuff. Avcs gears and or solenoids? Can probably clean and test the solenoids. The gears like to harbor old oil and metal bits. Under the intake oem fuel hoses and oiteker clamps. I went cheap regular clamps and hose, and redid the job 2 years later. Pcv valve and that one hose near the front with the seemingly pointless foam insulation? -
Somewhere I posted a trick to install an intake manifold using really long bolts with heads cut off as guiding dowels. Will see if I can find it. Huzzah!

Ugh, looks like I'm probably not going to make this. Between wife's availability and child care, it's not sounding positive. I probably wouldn't be able to join until just the tail of dragon bit anyway. Maybe we can get more lgt.com interest on a future date.
