  1. Dead Thread Bump, but I just did the Airbox hot-air induction Mod with a spare airbox lid.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being stock airbox, and 10 being the Cobb SRI. This comes in at a...solid 5 for hearing the BPV sound, but around a 3 for hearing the turbo spool up.

    hope that helps ya ricers.

    Cobb makes Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors?

Calls people ricers, still did the mod anyway.

  2. Just registered as a volunteer. The lady may tag along as well!

It may be cold and raining. Cell reception is spotty at best, there are no amenities to speak of; Port-a-Potties are scattered throughout the grounds. If your lady is anywhere above a 7 on the 10 scale, I highly suggest she does not wear tight pants.

  3. Do I need to register if I just want to show up and talk trash, heckle the drivers, or stir up some drama?

Will you keep me in line? Will you even try? :D

Once the day has started, people tend to wander in and take a look at what's going on, and then be on their way, especially if we share the track with autox.

  4. As I recently found out, most instructors are grandpas/grandmas. Makes me feel like a young buck, at least until I visited PIA with MrTris.

I'll be sure to make you feel like a grandpa again. I'm what most folks would actually consider a young buck. Hanging around those with more experience keeps me humble though

    Awww. . .

    Don't worry, B, I'll keep him in line. ;)

  5. Hmmmmm.....okay. I've got a buddy with a turbo Miata who's been begging me to take him to a track up here (he's on vacation from California) so this may be the opportunity I've been looking for

Volunteering for Driver's Skills Day is alot of standing around and resetting cones on occasion, and in return, you get to reap the benefits of the thing you're making happen.

Bring your friend, too -- Worst case, he ends up a cone shagger on the skidpad. Easiest job to have there.

  6. Actually, the 21 is full for students. Still need volunteers who get free lunch & track time at day's end.

I don't think that's what he's looking for. I'm gonna guess that he'd rather hang out at the Krispy Kreme in the mall parking lot and look hard with all his car homies.

  7. What did he do? Did he no-show? Did he get banned at the track? Maybe we should rename him Mr Banned.

It's Banned Elite, to you, Mr!

I only went off-track once. Last time, they let me drive again, so, no biggie.

Guys, Bremerton WILL NOT be there forever -- come get a couple sessions in, just to say you were there before it got ripped up.

  8. Porsche Driver Skills on March 21 at Bremerton - http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/driver-skills-march-21-2015-bremerton-motorsports-park-pca-pacific-northwest-794803

    We need volunteers.

    Free signup on motorsportreg

    Free lunch

    Opportunity to see nice cars

Drive the road course at day's end

Ride in instructor's cars on road course at day's end

    Meet car people

Note: I'll be out of town, so try not to follow MrTris's lead, m'kay?

Oh, dang, AND we're short an instructor? *sigh* OK. .

  9. The smaller one has some pretty crappy reviews so I bought the larger one. It'll pay for itself just by cleaning my injectors, but I justified the purchase (to my wife) by telling her that we can use it to clean her jewelery, baby pacifiers, car parts... The 20% off coupon helped too.

I would not put binkies in there after you've run the fuel injectors through. Yuck!

Stick with a good toothbrush cleaning and soak in boiling water to disinfect, or those microwave cleaning cases they come in-

  10. Nope. I just got done changing my clutch and flywheel so I put the misfire on hold for a while.

I recently picked up an ultrasonic cleaner from HFR (Harbor Freight Racing) so maybe this weekend I'll soak all of my injectors in carb cleaner overnight, ultrasonic clean them, and then install the new o-rings I got from MrInjector.

Just had to look that up -- That's a neat little cleaner! Might have to get one of those..

  11. Friends, i have 2005 model year OBXT with stage 2 - COBB firmware + catless downpipe and tomei equal lenght headers.

    Waiting of mine GRIMMSpeed TMIC

what bolton (?) turbo should i to prefer?

    thanx a lot

Well, first, let's establish some goals:

What is your car's primary purpose?

Does it need to be reliable and have a long service life?

What kind of driving events do you participate in, if any?

Where would you like your powerband to be?

All these factors come into play when selecting the right turbo for your application. Once you have a clearer picture in mind, you can begin to start researching parts.

  12. Go get this he's had it for sale on bbs.legacy for a awhile now.

1993 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan Shell

    http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/4830442316.html

1993 Subaru Legacy Sport. I'm told by previous owner that we are the third owner. No trades, cash only. Rolling shell 1000 Firm. You will need to provide wheels for transportation. 5x100 15" minimum.

I've been trying to figure out how to score that shell. I've got a line on an 04 - 05 WRX that's been t-boned that has got all good parts and is rotting away in a coworker's yard. Just need like, 3k to get the whole thing started.
