  1. 6MT rear shifter bushing is not in the list of parts needed for swap... can use stock or aftermarket 5MT?
  2. Ha ha... up for grabs: Cobb double-adjustable STS Cobb knob Cobb front & rear bushings Redline perf black leather shift boot Group N 5MT tranny mount Kartboy crossmember bushings CCI stage 2 clutch & LWFW w/3000 miles all OEM stuff - tranny, shifter, diff, driveshaft, etc...I'll put up a FS thread in a couple of weeks unless someone wants to start making offers...
  3. No sh*t! The pallet should arrive this week. I bought an OEM STi shift knob. Several quarts of Extra-S are on the way. I fully expect to go without a boot for a while until I figure out what I want to do about a shifter. For install bits, yeah, I want to be sure I have a week or so to go over parts & make sure it's all there.
  4. It's gotta be in the package. I forgot to ask Frank.
  5. This is on a truck somewhere headed for Tampa: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/23/yratyzat.jpg
  6. I read that part & have already advised the shop. If I get the chance, I may just pull the switch out of the 6MT & hide it to avoid any confusion.
  7. Thanks for checking in--Frank is sending a 4EAT shaft. He said the pallet might go out today, but I told him I'm in no hurry. He's going to send pics of everything before it goes, just so I can see what's there. I asked about the DP bracket, but he couldn't promise me it'd be there. I'm guaranteed a clutch (no idea about condition), tranny, shaft, and diff... slave cylinder & shifter/linkage, harness. What is this part called--the "clutch fork shaft" that NSFW was missing from the last photo in this post? I just want to be sure I get it... although if it's coming with the clutch, I probably won't have a problem. I'll have a few weeks between the time the parts arrive at the shop and my installation window, so I'll have time to get fluids and bits & pieces that might not show up in the package. Need to find out how much Extra-S I need for the diff. I have two qts at home & will be ordering more from IP. I know there was something else I'm forgetting... but I'm sure I'll remember when it's too late to do anything about it. I posted in my "imminent 5MT failure" thread that I visited the shop earlier this week, and one of the techs/owners said he's pretty sure it's my 5MT input shaft bearing that is on its way out. Oh, I remember what I was thinking about... DCCD. I have no real drive to install a controller right now. I'll leave the diff open for the time being. The upgrade is just a side benefit to having a solid transmission.
  8. I have the Cobb double-adjustable STS in my 5MT. I'll be looking for the same post-swap. Thanks for the tips!
  9. AFAIK, the transmission is coming out of a 2011, so that should include '11 linkage & shifter. I read HD's mod. A clean solution, but one I don't want to have to do. I'm now about 1 month from an install and I've paid for the parts from Millenium, so I should be able to get everything shipped & have time to inspect. I'll post photos here or in a new thread when it all arrives. I'll have low-mileage 5MT upgrades in the classifieds sometime after that ... F/R Cobb bushings, Cobb SS & knob! Some of my first & favorite mods...
  10. Update... I talked to Frank at Millenium. If you want to go back & read, you'll see he's the source of my 6MT parts. He had every intention to send me an STi driveshaft for this swap, knowing full well it's going on a Legacy. He's given high credentials in this thread... so when I ask him once, twice, the same question, and he says, "look--I'll give you what you need," who am I to question him again? Then I come to this thread, and, well, you can read the last 30 posts or so. So I called Frank today & gave him the measurements from the pages SBT quoted. He said he'd see what he can do for sourcing an auto shaft, because the Spec.B shaft is pretty much out of the question. THAT is all I was trying to do by asking for dimensions. I'll say it again... all I want is the right parts, the first time.
  11. Maybe R180 vs R160? No idea. Obviously, that has nothing to do with length... but... it's different. Did Millenium also provide rear half shafts? On obtaining a Spec.B tranny, I was told, "good luck."
  12. Excellent! I would make the same presumptions. Thanks mang.
  13. I've read it over several times. Where are the lengths? I'm sure it's all correct, but I've got the guy who has supplied many others with 6MT swap kits giving me conflicting information. I sent him an email yesterday and got nothing back, which pisses me off a bit because I just dropped >$4k on the kit. All I have to go on is "some guys on the internet say it's not going to work." In fact, when I said where I got the info, he told me, essentially, "don't question me, I've done this several times, I'll send you what you need." What I want to respond with is "The LGT shaft is this long. The STi shaft is that long." Asking multiple times doesn't help, so I'll stop--but neither does quoting first-page information that appears multiple times in the thread. Seriously... I've read it. A lot. I get that others use the Spec.B or 4EAT shaft, and sincerely appreciate all the hard work that's been done to research & compile it.
  14. Thanks guys... going back to the supplier... all I want is all the stuff I need to do this right the first time without extended downtime waiting on parts.
  15. Understood. I get that. It just differs drastically from what I'm getting from my source. I checked eBay yesterday, but didn't find much. Admittedly. I've been too busy lately to nail this down but it's getting to be time. And I don't want to go back to my source for the third time to question him... I do, however, want the right parts the first time.
  16. Trying to get apples to apples... and all I have is fruit salad... From NASIOC: The auto (WRX) driveshaft is 45.78" not counting the slip yoke or pinion flange, Sti is 45.59" not counting the slip yoke or pinion flange Another thread...
  17. I'm just looking for factual evidence. I've got a guy that has sourced several of these swaps telling me I can use an STi main shaft with a different flange, and it'll work. I've questioned him again, and he said it will work, and that he is going to give me what I need. I've got info from NASIOC (for what that's worth) to back that up. 2011 STi drive shaft = x" 05-09 LGT 4EAT drive shaft = y" What is x? What is y?
  18. Agreed. That's the point... unless the diff seal is further forward on the R180 diff, which I have no reason to believe is the case.
  19. Info from NASIOC indicates the STi and AT driveshafts are the same length... so I'm looking for confirmation of that fact.
  20. Yes. He told me that the STi driveshaft is the same length as the 4EAT driveshaft. Is there photo or dimensional evidence to support one way or the other? Good thing I have a few weeks to sort this out. Sent from a handheld device that can access the aggregate of human knowledge, but that I generally use to buy car parts and watch videos of people hurting themselves
  21. I'M GOING BACK TO EDIT MY POST TO AVOID CONFUSION... I called Frank just now. Up until today, I understood he was sending me just the flange and that I was to use my driveshaft. He corrected me & said he's sending the STi driveshaft, plus a new flange. He scolded me for doubting him... and I'm humbled.
  22. Good info. Huge thanks! Sent from a handheld device that can access the aggregate of human knowledge, but that I generally use to buy car parts and watch videos of people hurting themselves
  23. EDIT: see below. I'll ask KCWagon to correct his post, but if he doesn't, just know that my post quoted below contains incorrect info, corrected by KCWagon & verified by my supplier.
