  1. me!

ABP, and not especially stock. Nice to see a fellow LGTer around. I do wave, but I rarely get anything back except from the impreza crowd.

Woohoo, a successful spotting! No offense meant by the "looked stock" comment... just meant that in the short time I had to look, nothing jumped out at me as clearly aftermarket. But car looked well cared for and great!

  2. To me, there's been some very questionable "humor" on the forum from CT08 over the years. However right now... this is the best. I damn near spat my morning coffee all over my desk. For that I thank you Sir. Made my day.

So after YEARS of questionable "humor" (your own words) from CT08, you now found something he said humorous?! I think that says more about you, than it does about him... Pretty unlikely his humor would change, more likely that you are becoming more and more like him! Something about the lowest common denominator...

  3. I was with my wife, you enjoy your AIDS

Right... you're "wife"... prison wife. It's a good thing I'm as opened minded as I am, I've never seen a guy makeout with as many hairy dudes as you did last night. And I appreciate your concern, but don't worry... I never drank from the same glass as you, no STDs for me today.

  4. spotted pfoyle coming out of a gay bar at 9pm last night.

Thanks for letting me (your wingman) off the hook once you found the big hairy biker you've been searching for your whole life... At least I got some free drinks out of it, but by the looks of it you got A LOT more than that (in the butt).

  5. oh... common as muck now are we?

I suppose if I looked in my rear view mirror I would see your hoodscoop.

Is that cause I'm pulling up behind you on the shoulder of the highway to give you a ride to Motive after you pop another engine chasing the power of a 5th Gen with some bolt-on parts? :p

  6. I can hear your tone change to derision as you start your second paragraph mentioning the 4th Gen... clearly not as 'pumped'.

Certainly not derision! But 4th Gen GTs are pretty common, compared to 5th Gen GTs. It's just much more rare to spot one of 2k... but I wave to all hood scoops!

  7. Spotted a black 5th Gen GT (!) on Rt 2 (you were headed west around 5:15pm) west of 495 interchange. Didn't have time to wave as I was eastbound, but was pumped to see another 5th Gen GT.

Shortly after spotted a silver 4th Gen GT, also driving west on Rt 2 (around 5:25, just east of 495 interchange). Again, no time to wave.

  8. Saw a fellow 5th gen today on RT 3 North @ around 3:50. You passed me on the left right before the NH line, dark grey with tint and dark wheels.

Was it a GT? Maybe Ellesedil? I think he travels Rt3 a lot to/from work... and his is dark grey with nice aftermarket wheels...

  9. Was picking up my car at Subaru of Wakefield yesterday... they just finished washing her up, and left her idling out front of the service area. I got in and was just checking things over, adjusting seats/mirrors/etc when one of the techs came over and knocked on the window. I rolled it down and he said "This is totally unrelated to anything else, but I just wanted to say how NASTY this car sounds... especially in the shop!" I said thanks, though sometimes I wish it were quieter, so I didn't feel like I was waking up my neighbors in the morning. He's like "No man, it's awesome. Probably the most badass Legacy I've ever seen." :D Def put a smile on my face, as I'd been stressing over the car for a few days!
  10. Hi all,

I am.planning to lower an MY10 legacy g2g wagon to improve the handling and get rid of boat-like feeling when cornering.

The car has a 22mm whiteline rear sway bar. I have ordered a set of H&R springs which lower 1.3".

I am going to have a whiteline caster kit fitted and get 4 wheel balance when installing springs. Do I need to do anything else when lowering like camber bolts (front? Rear?)

Thanks for any advice or help.

    Rift.

Not suspension related, but as discussed above a skid plate (I have the one from Primitive racing, along with the rear diff cover) is a good investment for a lowered car. Everytime I scrape on an angled driveway, or a large speedbump, or a chunk of ice/snow/rock in the road, I just smile to myself as the skid plate pays for itself! Just a great investment for peace of mind! I've lost count of the number of times I've heard it be of use, but everytime makes me thankful that I got it.

  12. This is why I asked if you had measured the tread wear. While mileage is nice to get a ballpark, it ultimately doesn't mean much.

Tirerack can include tire shaving if you request it. I actually had to replace a winter tire that had a bulge, and my three remaining tires have about 7mm (9/32") of treadwear remaining, but I make an effort to break my tires loose more often than I probably should (because AWD turbo).

Hopefully, you would have been able to save a bit of money with an intermediate solution. Seems like it's a moot point now anyway.

I appreciate the info and help! But with 1 dead tire, and 1 nearly bald spare, I decide just to bite the bullet and get some sweet summer tires! Now I have 3 tires to choose from for my spare, and may sell the other 2, or just hang on to them until I need them for something else. Wanted to get this done ASAP so I can hopefully get them mounted next week/weekend and not have to worry about driving around on my bald spare.

Thanks again to everyone for the advice/help though!
