  1. I made myself a plate to bolt on my jack that makes it a "transmission jack" (at least in theory). Hopefully I'll get to use this early next week to swap in the 2015 wrx 6mt.
  2. That's a turbocharger that is about as good as a paperweight. No ebay turbo will last; they will destroy your motor when they go. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184419697714 This is about as cheap as you're going to get for a used oem turbo. Key word, oem.
  3. The fuel line hose clamps may need to be tightened or replaced.
  4. It is just a line to the transmission cooler. It was done this way because it's a direct line to it. It just so happens that a happy result is that the cylinders run cooler with the additional flow through both heads (cylinder 3 line and cylinder 4 line).
  5. Well the wrecker would only give me a $200 credit. I started the additional tear down on the ej251 block and I'm glad I didn't just send it. The #1 rod bearing was trashed and would create absolute carnage (probably on the first start). I dropped the block off at the machine shop for boring 0.5mm and potentially a line hone/bore. I'll buy two sets of main/rod bearings to get everything in spec. When I mic'd the crank all journals were in spec. The rod bearings were all at the limit of 0.0020" but these were with the original bearings so standard size should still be ok but it's always good to buy a set of undersized too just in case.
  6. It was nice yesterday. Got it out of its winter slumber. Need to put summers back on.
  7. I've always loved the PF01 wheel. Here is an old picture. 17x8+45 with 245/40/17.
  8. Not for the legacy but my Impreza has been misfiring in cylinder 2 and it's pointing to a valve from my leakdown. The engine as somewhere around 250k miles and burns oil so I bought a used motor from a local wrecker. I pulled the heads from the wrecker and saw they were already refurbished so I sent them to a local shop for cleaning. Fast forward to today when I decided to get the block ready for reassembly and noticed some scoring on 2 and 4 in the right light. I emailed the wrecker and I'm hoping for at least a partial refund so I don't have to eat the cost of the engine + rebuild. Depending on what they say I may just send it since it's for my non-turbo daily.
  9. He's saying to buy the new kyb units. Unless you buy new oem Bilsteins, you're just guessing as to how long the struts will last before blowing.
  10. Looks to be a 1.3 kOhm resistor. I use this site frequently: https://www.calculator.net/resistor-calculator.html?bandnum=4&band1=brown&band2=orange&band3=blue&multiplier=red&tolerance=gold&temperatureCoefficient=brown&type=c&x=105&y=19
  11. I just mocked up my shifter assembly. I have the kartboy short shifter setup with oem linkage assembly. Even without the shift stop and not being mounted in the vehicle this feels better than my 5MT setup ever has (with TIC bushings everywhere). The shifts are crisp and knotchy. I'm going to wait on a shorter lever and different knob until later.
  12. The equivalent part from an sti subaru part number 45162FG010 and gates 18695. Diameters from gates part below. https://www.finditparts.com/products/5626735/gates-corporation-18695
  13. Here is an alternate part from gates with diameters. https://www.finditparts.com/products/6876582/gates-corporation-18692
  14. The design changed for the wrx and sti. The radiators still "fit" but you'll need to use the hose with part number 45162AG010. I know you bought an LGT specific radiator but I bet the part number is the same for the 3 models lgt, wrx and sti. My guess is that we won't really find many LGT specific parts anymore, just those that are somewhat interchangeable with the wrx/sti platform.
  15. Need to tune for injectors immediately. Car will run very poorly without a tune on new injectors.
  16. True statement. Turbo cars don't have an EGR system on the EJ platform.
  17. Yes, yes and yes. Remove all and replace all gaskets. I would keep or add any dampers you can to keep everything happy.
  18. Take a picture under your car of your oil pan and compare it to 06+ images.
