  1. I ordered back on 12/27, have the initial orders shipped yet?
  2. While I'm not Dave (he is my tuner though ), I can confirm that the Grimmspeed 3-port EBCS instructions do say to remove the line with the restrictor pill - which I did for my installation/tune. Going to an interrupt BC from a bleed system eliminates the need for the pill is my understanding, so this is likely accurate for any 3-port EBCS from the OEM.
  3. Thanks Matt Since I'm Grimmspeed faithful - I'm seriously considering parting ways with my beloved Process West for a US designed and built equivalent If you need real world testing/comparisons - I'd be happy to oblige with the assistance of my tuner, with before and after logs and dynos
  4. Welcome to the LGT community! We will have to get together sometime and chat since we are local! Great score
  5. I should have bought one when available even though I haven't even purchased an upgraded turbo yet. Had no idea this was coming (but do understand Mike's position). I will pay more for the well engineered product he's supplied to date, without hesitation.
  6. I'd much prefer that to a break or crack. Good wheels bend and don't break.
  7. The Perrin you are basing all these points from is hardly a benchmark. It's not much bigger than OEM and acts partly as a heat sink for the turbo with the way it connects to the turbo flange. Fin alignment - negligible. Sure I agree the TMIC should be square in the bay (another issue with your Perrin I'm sure as it's well documented fitment wise). You are contradicting yourself in 3 and 4 and no idea why 5 is relevant. This will be a larger core than OEM. You want an appropriate splitter to direct airflow over as much of the core as possible. There's no way with that all being said that the OEM engine cover will fit without major modification. It's part of the OEM splitter configuration to seat the hood duct to the OEM TMIC. This all changes with a larger core. Regarding slotting the turbo side bolt holes, this shouldn't be required because like their STi model (and the PW TMIC), it will likely use a silicone coupler, which is better than having a huge aluminum piece directly attached to the turbo soaking heat like your Perrin unit. Silicone flexes and will eliminate slight adjustments needed at the turbo flange connection.
  8. I get to it when I can, and will update as soon as I have enough time. There aren't that many new ones to add to the list at this point.
  9. Lot's of technical info in that post that hopefully is useful, all I got out of it was...
  10. Wasn't personal or an attack. I don't want to dilute this thread any more than I have, as I respect what Dave does for our community. While I share your sentiments regarding Dave's abilities and customer-centric focus, I was giving some feedback on what became quite difficult to read after the first line. I still won't attack you personally, but inferring I was acting my shoe size vs. my age is personal (not that I care for your opinion). This is the internet - you need a little thicker skin, and it would do us all a huge favor if you posted your review with a little more attention to paragraph structure, grammar, and some punctuation. This will allow us all to actually benefit from the time you take to post and hear your story. I took the liberty of using the RETURN key a few times in that review you posted, but don't have the time to rewrite it to resolve other issues.
  11. Paragraph structure... you need some. That wall of text is making my eyes bleed
  12. Dave, I may be that "beta" tester We also have a good baseline with the tune you did with my PW TMIC. I'm a sucker for all things Grimmspeed due to their quality and the fact they support our performance needs and build their products here in the states. Enjoy your time off Dave!
  13. The Process West nailed this aspect (TMIC to TB hose). They missed the boat on the quality of the hardware (clamps) though. I agree, for the price these high end TMICs are getting, we shouldn't have to go out and buy new T-bolt clamps or constant tension clamps right out of the gate to ensure a leak free installation.
  14. Show me a quality product for this application (TMIC) that isn't a Chinese knockoff in that price range... What you are asking for isn't feasible price wise. With the R&D and fabrication costs for a performance TMIC that is applied to a niche aftermarket demographic like the LGT owned by enthusiasts is not going to produce a high volume of sales. To even justify this I'm sure GS has to account for two platforms to use the same product (08+WRX is a much larger market). Due to this, pricing is going to be more than $400 to justify producing it I'm certain. Also, it's rare that a truly custom aftermarket part does not require some sort of "massaging" as you stated. You want better than OEM, which will require a different core design. Fitting something bigger to the same engine takes modification (notice mod is short for this?). If the car isn't your "hobby" I have no idea why you have a Stage 3 modded LGT, and even if what has been done already is a sunk cost at this point; moving forward, why bother changing your working solution if you can't afford a true upgrade like what GS will bring to the table? I fail to see the relevance of what you posted. Stick with your bullet proofed OEM TMIC that seems to suit you well. I think you missed something that's been posted here often... "stay stock, stay happy". Later "stage" modifications require the right budget and mindset, neither of which you seem to possess based on your post.
  15. Front bumper mod is not for me, I think it looks like ass... saggy ass.
  16. Great to see your outstanding company bringing more products out for our platform, (thankfully we share many things with the 08+WRX). I still want my GS Downpipe in our fitment!!! I have the Process West TMIC currently and would consider making the switch if the GS piece: - Is designed either to mate perfectly with OEM splitter, or has a custom splitter that mates with the new core. - Allows enough room for BPV fitment. This is a tough fit with my current PW TMIC, and the one I have is actually slightly shorter than OEM BPV. - Clutch Master Cyllinder clearance. - STi style turbo fitment option is nice (and from seeing your recent TMIC release, silicone couplers tend to be in the plan so this may be an option). - IAT sensor bungs would be icing on the cake. I'm much less concerned about strut tower bar accommodation. They are pointless on our cars anyways, due to our strut towers being integrated with the firewall. Silly bling with no performance gains. They vary so much from vendor to vendor this seems like a request that isn't necessary. I'm also not concerned about metal end tanks over the turbo. Now that I've had my PW for close to a year utilizing my Grimmspeed turbo heat shield, lined with DEI Reflect-a-Gold and a PTP turbo blanket I feel heatsoak issues are overstated (clearly it will if sitting in traffic). I don't want to sacrifice core size just to keep it from being over the turbo which is really the only void that there's more space to add to the size of it.
  17. I'm in the exact same boat SubieChik. Just yesterday I felt the seat back side bolster poking me where the leather's worn so thin from the PO getting in and out without any thought to wear near the seatbelt. It's dry and brittle and I desperately would love to track down a set of new OEM front seat covers. I've watched the interiors that have come up from time to time and unfortunately none of the seats were in great condition. Sigh... I may just have to see if an interior shop can reupholster them.
  18. I owe the list an update and then have SBT copy it back to the first post. Been slacking and it seems there's been quite a few recent acquisitions. Congrats all on the new to you cars
  19. Makes sense. I'll hold off until more input from owner's? Not sure if the thread history is something we'd want to lose. Thanks for updating the initial post. I just thought my "idea" might avoid the need to harass mods/admins for updating.
  20. Post #924 SBT - I've been updating at least once a page on OG settings for posts/page. He's been on the list for the last three updates I've done, but refuses to see it despite other member's pointing it out. Apparently some people tend to look at Post #1 only. Ideally since I've been maintaining the list, it would be great if I could start/sticky a V2 thread, and then merge in the history for prosperity. Not sure if this is possible, but then I could continue to maintain the registry and update the initial post. I'd be happy to start a thread and have you sticky/merge it - and then maintain "the registry" as I have been. Related note, I still need to update my Google location map as well.
  21. Which still doesn't make up for how horrible it looks with an empty cutout since the car designed for dual exits.
