  1. Yes Here in Oregon and Washington it's all 92 for premium. At least it's not the Cali-piss 91 though
  2. Few different items have started arriving here from overseas... JDM Rev A-C rear bumper with new JDM bumper brackets and rear aero spats (White) JDM Option aero side skirts with molded in strakes (Red) http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/LGTspecB/IMG_1001.jpg JDM Optional STi pillowball rear suspension link set (was on the Tuned by STi model) http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/LGTspecB/IMG_1002.jpg Still waiting on a few other items before installation and paint - slow process getting it all together from various sources overseas, but so worth it!
  3. I agree the Perrin is bigger than OEM depth wise... just not that much different than OEM in other aspects, which was part of their design - to use the factory splitter along with the engine cover (they have the tabs with the holes for the pop its). I still don't see why someone would want to have a much larger core (like the one GS is designing), and not spread the flow of fresh air over as much of the fins as possible while driving to cool. You mention bigger changes from couplers and heat isolation. I say why not do it all I use a GS heat shield, lined with DEI reflect a gold, and a PTP turbo blanket, and my PW has a silicone coupler from turbo to inlet.
  4. Your Perrin isn't that much bigger than OEM height and width wise (can still use factory engine cover w/ a little modification). For that TMIC - a different hood duct/splitter may not be as advantageous. If you have a much larger core, then increasing the spread of airflow over the cooling surface will be beneficial. The other thing you are not taking into consideration is that once you increase the size of the core, it hangs closer to the turbo and so you have potential for more heat soak. Why would you buy a more expensive and larger core if you don't plan on getting more performance out of it by ensuring as much airflow over it as possible? People that are already thinking it is too expensive, should probably stick to their knockoffs that they think are budget friendly. The R&D, quality and attention to detail that GS offers comes with a price tag. Their approach to product development is why I'm even considering replacing the Process West with this offering.
  5. You dropped your car off in Texas to have them install an alternator shroud and coolant caps?
  6. Totally agree with you. I've already got the solution in my "wish list" as I'd like to consider 1000cc TF if I go with a bigger snail My points were directly related to the post I quoted that said, "I second ID1000's awesome injectors. Drive just as good as the 750's and same price so no reason not to go with the 1000's." If you have SF in your car, DW740cc or DW850cc SF with rebate will be a lot cheaper than ID1000s, pigtails, and the T1 conversion setup. There is no doubt to me that if you need >850cc, that there is no better solution than ID1000cc with a top feed conversion for performance and reliability.
  7. I saw that setup a while ago SBT, and it's how I'd convert if I went to 1000cc or more. That solution doesn't come without a price though. I realize that one poster already had TF, and I was making more of a generalization about the cost of the conversion needing to be factored in.
  8. Well it was last weekend anyways... Great to see your wagon Gator! Hoping the weather holds for the HPDE out there in March.
  9. If you have to do a SF to TF conversion, the price is not the same once you figure in the conversion parts needed.
  10. Nubie's explanation sounds accurate. I didn't actually mod it myself (received it that way), and if I had the spec.B or 3.0 front bumper, I would have used it. I was thinking I would have to use a little 3m trim tape on the leading edge where it meets the bumper. I received my JDM Subaru Sports mesh grille this weekend from valleylegacy for my 2.0GT front bumper. I still need to get it painted TSM http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn146/jaymmmbee/LGTspecB/specB%202013/211243BD-2FFB-40F3-9BAA-0EEE67A8B966.jpg
  11. Won't be exactly easy. I can tell you with the Process West, which is a large core that is over the turbo side more, that you have to do it by feel and it's tight quarters. I bent my dipstick handle a bit to ease removal and to clear the TMIC.
  12. Heads up and/or GB would be great! Now taking preorders for one well taken care of Process West unit
  13. if your cutting anyways... just cut your 05. I don't see the benefit of going 08 unless you already had one.
  14. From those two examples, looks like the holes are different for the foam absorber to plug into.
  15. Mine's actual JDM, Nubie shaved his... maybe he can chime in
  16. I'm going to get the STi pillow ball rear lower links (already have some earmarked for me), and the STi lower chassis brace when I locate one. Someday when I'm done with the exterior mods and paint work, I'll likely pursue the Bilstein BSS coil overs too. This is my inspiration... converting a USDM 06 spec.B to the AUDM 06 Tuned by STi as correctly as possible, but keep the USDM spec.B TSM paint color vs. BSM:
  17. For early models (05-07 or Rev A-C), you do not need headlights for sure, (Rev D+ is another story with fenders and headlights required). The headlight brackets are slightly different (I got some JDM ones), but you can get the USDM ones to work as well. For my conversion I have the JDM beam, as well as the lower air dam brace which trims the radiator and provides support for the lower section of the bumper, as well as the JDM headlight brackets to eliminate some gaps left by the USDM brackets. I've been working with valleylegacy on procuring the rear bumper cover, bumper support, a sport mesh grill and some other JDM STi suspension goodies. Still have a few other items to scratch off the list to complete the conversion I'm working towards.
  18. This was my first thought after arriving at the same interpretation.
  19. Good to see your back working on a Legacy project Johann... in for results!
  20. Yes I like it. I couldn't pass it up, since it was already painted the right color. I swapped with SpecB-228 who posted above. Has the STi lip, and he included the beam, supports, fogs, and I sourced the original style grille. I'll be doing a full conversion to the MY06 Tuned by STi setup (still need wheels, rear wing, exhaust, rear bumper and badging) with my 06 spec.B, and repaint in the TSM. I like this bumper's simple lines and the bottom opening the best of the 3 options. As much as I like the spec.B front bumper, the GT one seems more rare here
  21. If anyone needs a JDM Rev D- honeycomb grill, I have one I'll be selling. It might actually be Hanger's old one, as it has been modified for an earlier spec.B/3.0 style bumper. I have a GT JDM Rev A-C front bumper which has a smaller opening than the spec.B/3.0 bumpers do, so it won't fit mine. This will fit just like ynot87s in the picture above (post 773).
  22. I got my tracking info as well, and keep the $2 as a donation to a good cause
  23. Was just checking in, knowing they wouldn't ship until today Thanks!
