  1. I wouldn't expect them to fix this, as technically its another part of the system that the recall doesn't really cover. I'd expect they would quote a price to replace the entire assembly based on what I've seen others post here. But if they do decide to do something, please let us know!

I figure that is what will happen, worth an ask.

Keep in mind that if you do get a new one from the dealer, it has the same latent fault as the old one, so just solder the old one. Even someone as lazy as me found this to be quick, easy repair. You will spend more time removing and replacing screws than soldering and screw removal / replacement totals about seven minutes if you are slow.

Good point. I will get around to it.

  2. 100% fruit juice really is all fruit juice, but that doesn't mean they don't monkey with it to increase the sugar content make it sweeter/more palatable/less healthy. They sweeten it with fruit juice concentrate. In other words, they start with regular juice, then remove some water and refine the sugar in the remainder and then take that super sweet juice concentrate and mix again with fresh juice to the desired ratios. Hence, still legit claim that it's 100% juice, but it's not quite what you think and it's not quite as healthy as the claim would lead you to believe. Fruit juice is already high in natural sugar and they raise the sugar content artificially. They just happen to use a sweetened form of the juice in order to make the 100% juice claim.

Let's just take this off topic. You are correct in this. Even the not from concentrate juices, let's say orange since it's the most prevalent example, is pasteurized which takes away all the orange flavor. So they add natural orange flavoring to get the juice that perfect flavor for their brand.

As you say the 100% juice can and is still made with concentrates. It's when they take a concentrated juice, add water and other sugars, then they can't claim it's 100% juice, but it is still labeled as juice. Versus a drink, which is mainly water and sugar, like Sunny D. Fruit Drink. Both not healthy. Just juice your own and don't go overboard unless you like sugar spikes.
