I was just gonna have him lob like a half inch off both sides and weld it back up. Sound right? -

Much to nobodies surprise, the fans dont fit. A friend is coming by to pick up the whole assembly and cut where I marked, so the shroud will fit flush against the radiator: -

After looking at about a dozen different options and way too many measurements I finally pulled the trigger on this TMIC. A little cleaning and fin straightening should get it perfect: -

Today some stuff came in. A pair of new headlight connectors to replace my damaged one, and also some radiator stays that aren’t even close to fitting. I’ll probably just make some, like I should’ve done in the first place. I bought some mishi slim fans and shroud, hopefully that comes soon. -

On my list of wheels to get for sure! A lot of great wheels come through this jdm importer in Richmond VA which happens to also be a radical place that I like to visit about two hours from me. https://www.jspecauto.com/jdm-engines/206/subaru/Subaru-OEM-and-Aftermarket-Wheels -

Non Intercooler post, yay! Took the Advans off today, I think I am going to put them on my second gen wagon. What do you guys think of the new setup? -

I have missed you, my friend. My motivation to build was in the dumps without you. -

I don't have power steering, so that won't be a problem. I like the intake you linked, and that looks to me like it would match up with the 02 wrx inlet that I posted above. -

I dug through some parts diagrams over on opposed forces, this is a 02 usdm WRX, and it looks very similar to mine: 02 WRX: Ej20K JDM v4 STI: This looks to be an almost identical match: Now I realize this isn't the best explanation, but bear with me. The item I marked 7 is where the recirculation hose connects to the inlet. On the ej20k manifold there is a hard pipe that bolts to the bottom, I have outlined and shaded this piece blue. This connects to the BPV, and another larger hose comes off the BPV and into the intercooler. The intercooler that will not fit on my car. Does that sound correct? The whole hard pipe and big ass hose situation makes things very tight, is there any option to get rid of this in favor of a different setup? I would greatly enjoy a better and cleaner solution. -

Damn, thank you so much! I haven't put much thought into an airbox setup, I don't want to use an OEM plastic one, so I will probably end up using a short ram for now. Should the way I connect the inlet to airbox be the only issue I come across if I order that inlet you linked? The stock ej20k airbox did not come with my motor, nor did a tmic. -

I am trying to buy a turbo inlet hose now and having a little trouble. There are a few no-name options that say they are for an EJ20k but no name brand stuff at all. Will an EJ20g one work for me? I am looking to replace my OEM piece that I broke. Thanks in advance everyone! -

Intercooler Issues: This is the oem TMIC for my motor (ej20k) but it will not fit because the back of the intercooler will hit the firewall. My intake manifold has the idle air control valve (IACV) next to the throttle body, which makes it impossible to use basically all other top mount options due to the bypass valve being right in that spot. My friend Mike Tracy pointed me in the direction of a build thread in which a gentleman used a 25mm spacer between the throttle body and manifold, thus creating enough room to use a top mount of my choosing. Can anyone offer up any alternate ideas or suggestions? My ideal solution to this problem would be to have a top mount intercooler made to specs. I am not sure this is a thing in real life. -

Yesterday I was very bored so I cleaned everything out of the back of the car. It was mostly spare interior parts and other assorted bullshit. I think with a nice shampoo the carpet will look super clean! Too bad my cargo cover was stolen, and I was poor when homie here had one for me. My little girl wanted to pretend for a bit too, which is cool cause I do the same thing: -
Thanks for the input guys! I have had a pretty hard time out here finding one in good shape that is also a good price. I tried my friends Forester TMIC and the spot for the bpv is in the way, I was sure his car was an 06 though, I will ask him. Could I cover that with a plate or adapter to relocate? Its sitting in my garage still, and fits fine except that one spot. My only real concern is not bashing in the firewall to make something fit.
