  1. I have never been pulled over in mine in NY and most shops could care less about a cat unless it has a check engine.
  2. Completely agree. The OTS maps most people ignore the guidelines and it causes problems down the road. OTS maps are a stop gap to get you to a protune imo.
  3. ATR is for self tuners which is nice But it caused an issue with fakes Coob "tuners" flooding the market and screwing up peoples cars. Removing atr actually protects cobb's customers. if your cars blown up your less likely to buy a more parts. You pay a tuner because of their experience a pro tune is a small price to pay when you consider what happens if something is wrong in your tune.
  4. I cheated i am getting a rebuilt short block with king bearings and mahle pistons. I did the oil pump for the 11mm due to running thicker oil for forged pistons.
  5. Yeah unfortunately your missing pieces. Like new oil pump and oil cooler if you lost a bearing or want to have new parts and those two are 350 combined. plus ARP head studs $200. That's just basic then add a tune to keep it healthy ect ect. My Build is right around 4k including machine work on the heads.
  6. Yeah i run a billet 18g with a stock block. 335whp/377wtq all the supporting mods. 22.5psi daily driven with 111k on it so far. 21k on the 18g setup. Stock is quite strong with a good tuner. When mine finally blows a head gasket of ring from bad gas or bad coil what ever I already have a plan. Arp head bolts,Cosworth pistons with oem sti rings. sti crank balanced, BC rods, king bearings. WPC coated rings, bearings, pistons, crank and pins. Its a mix of what a few companies do for their builds. Stout motor With longevity for a dd. IMO DD under 500whp shouldn't be using 2618 pistons. Cosworths are race proven realiable even Mahle 4032 are proven up to 450whp. Wossiner is also available and they are designed for porche 911's. Their are even Ceramic pistons coming out for our engines. Not your ceramic dinner ware. ceramic's that are used in diesel tractor pull trucks.
  7. Mine did it with the factory fuel system on a stg2 protune by Bren. new system with iag rails, pulse dampeners, id1k and aeromotive FPR zero stumble.
  8. You could have just bought a 4eat outback driveshaft and not getto rig it so it is guaranteed to fail in an amazing fashion.
  9. The problem is the sti has a different ABS system and our abs system controls our speedometer etc. so we need it.
  10. Scooby2.5 ftw. I juts bought a V3 so when they come out with flex fuel i can use it.
  11. I asked the one tuner i bug. Mike but he hasn't seen that before. Hopefully you already got this fixed.
  12. I already have an fpr and ID1000's on my 18g. swap my ap2 for a ap3 and swap in a dw320. then i can have my 400whp and my 93oct daily for Boston trips.
  13. BUMP. need the e85 for mine. i have everything to run it i just can't run it full time. so this would be awesome.
  14. Nice i have been in touch with him about adjusting my tune. We kinda hijacked your cars dyno run on facebook.
  15. Spare motor will need a little more work. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1280x1024q90/903/jbTSp3.jpg
