  1. Success! Aux works, steering wheel controls work, under seat sub still works, and XM radio works. I'm done for the night. My i85 harness pinned into the 06 console plug. i85 plug with my harness plugged in. AUX plug integrated into 06 console sub harness. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  2. Pfizer shot one down... Let's see if there are any side effects for me. So far(3 hrs later) notin Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  3. Don't forget to swap your VIN when you swap dashes... Man this is so friggen weird to me... Most VIN's under the windshield are riveted to the body structure not the removable dash. Yes I realize there is a huge stamped vin on the firewall but still... 90% of VIN checks the start by looking at the windshield one. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  4. Today on WTF else can I take apart to prevent me from driving this car.... I fixed the halfassed pin install on the steering wheel controls that came in this car. Used donor pins from my 07 so they clip in correctly, no superglue for me. Now to just complete the run from the steering wheel down to the radio. Also made my own aux harness that will tie into the stock plug under the center console and hook up like the factory 07 did. Thankfully there are more than 4 empty pins on those plugs. 5. The simple ability to do so would be the reason why I would do it LOL... damn what I would give to be able to buy ANYTHING for my 25yr old Beretta from GM anymore... There isn't jack shit available for those cars... it's a JY supply or nothing.
  6. I ran Extra-S when I first got my 07 back at 100k, but I had done a fluid change since using the OG Extra-S from FredBeans, and that's why I stated I was then running the Subaru Extra-S replacement fluid in there. The stuff you can buy by the quart now and I never had any issues with it shifting. That new version also helped my wife's 04 Forester with 1st gear engagement, but her trans still needs to be torn apart to see why it's so difficult to engage when rolling. Her car you need to straight up come to a stop at a light or sign, release clutch in neutral, press clutch and immediately engage in 1st, otherwise it's very difficult.
  7. 172k that's it? damn that's fresh... I just got my 06 running and that has 169k on it. Shifts like butter with Mobil 1 Delvac in it. My 07 was running great with the standard subaru synthetic oil (Extra-S replacement) and that hit 268k.
  8. That's a common issue actually. Happened to my 07 and I had an airbag light on my 06. It can actually be fixed by re-soldering the lights and components on that board that indicates if the airbag is on or not, they apparently didn't use enough solder so the joints are prone to cracking and causing a disconnect. The carnage from yesterday... LOL 06 dash ended up being sticky... Thankfully my 07 one is not. oh side note... Anyone know how to get the 06 steering wheel controls to work on the 07 radio? Possible or not? Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  9. First shot finally scheduled for the 7th... Foxwoods Casino vaccine clinic. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  10. Oh this was a fun day... At least I got to drive it for a 50 mile break in before ripping the interior out of it. That's the 07 dash... 06 one came out shortly after. Found both had broken "radio boxes" as they call it and got shit lucky to find one on ebay for $29. This is the least broken radio box from my 07, one leg cracked off and the hole for the glove box clip is also broken. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  11. I've run the stock setup on my 07's VF46 for around 100k with filters installed and that thing still feels the same as when I put it in... I went with all stock stuff on my VF52 setup as well, filters installed and stock banjo restrictor. Not sure why so many people have problems. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  12. Lots is rusty or slated for backups for me but hit me up with what you're looking for. I'm in north east CT so IN New England Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah that's about what I'm down to in order to finish this car... Swapped the manifolds from my daily to this one since my heat shields existed... And that lower plastic shield also had to be moved over to this car since it was missing. It's amazing how much of this 06 was in such good condition and what wasn't as well as missing. That up pipe is quite fresh... It's a catless that came with the 06 so he clearly got it from somewhere else. Cannibalizing the 07 more and more each day... LOL Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  14. It's saddening when you need to put a rusty manifold up there and the rest looks this nice... LOL Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  15. Oh boy here we go... All caps too! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  16. Lately me and my wife have a joke when going to harbor freight or some place similar, if either one of us is there we'll txt the other one, "Hey need anything from Harbor Freight while I'm here" the correct reply is "All the Tools" Ever since buying this latest house I've been outfitting myself with every tool you could think of to make things easier... I don't know how I did all the work I did before from a small 2 bay uninsulated garage that I could barely open the doors of my cars fully. I now need a shop to store all the specialty tools that I've bought. Oh and I did this to my legacy's yesterday... (yes the shops in disarray, I also have a transmission project that I'm working on) Tearing the 07 down to get the 06 on the road for good... Exhaust out, suspension out, intake box out, intercooler out, wheels off, splash guards off, radio out, and soon to be rear seat out. Can't give up the 60/40 fold down... hell no...
  17. Yeah that's fun... I had to loosen my mounts when I was installing my engine. Easy to get when it was up a bit... Once dropped down it was a bit more of a pain in the ass to reach. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  18. I've always used tire racks version and they have lasted a long time $38 each too so it doesn't break the bank... One set got me 100k the second set is still kicking at 59k... It's not hard to get the system working. When you get that communication error light just replace them. I have a TPMS thread on here with the tools that I used the first time I had to do it. Hell I still have the tools but my last tire install the shop programmed and activated them for me for free. The money I see people throw at mods on here yet TPMS gets a piece of electrical tape on the dash. LOL Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  19. Bitter sweet day... Didn't bother filling the tank on the 07 since I'm so close to getting the 06 running. 07 has to donate some parts to get it on the road so I figured I would park it for good and start pulling parts tomorrow. Got the rear brakes all setup and on the 06.. Look at all those pretty fresh zinc plated bolts... And that layer of fluid film... LOL it's so greasy but I'd prefer that over rusting out again. Damn this thing has been in here for a while, it's filthy!
  20. I've had working TPMS since I bought my car... It's not hard to keep working The sensors aren't all that expensive either. It will be a little weird going to the 06 and not having that anymore. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  21. Eh one may never know I guess. That car is getting retired in a few weeks anyways and the VIN miss match didn't cause any issues after notifying the DMV. [emoji2371] Take a learning view shot and see if the ECM vin matches your windshield. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  22. You stated new one?... I had a used one from a junk yard. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  23. You thought I had to fill up then? You should see it now... light is on. lol Yes this 07 has 259k on it and will be retiring due to some nasty quarter rust and other rust throughout. I got this car at 98k in 2010... Engine was rebuilt with forged pistons at 158k, it's been a good workhorse. Thanks for noticing the temp, LMAO I guess it's a good think I have the zero mile engine in the 06 in my garage that's just waiting for brakes to take over DD responsibilities.
