eh win some lose some. I am blessed to have a beautiful girlfriend who supports my Subaru obsession and actually wants in on the Subaru family. I'm not gonna lie, after she drove my lgt she immediately wanted to trade her a4 for a wrx or lgt
My beautiful wife bought me my LGT... Thats some Win right there.

People are pathetic and try to steal anything... Sometimes I'm glad I don't live in a city area... Granted the sticks typically aren't much better for the thief's but there is a lot less vandalism and car theft issues.

I think I saw Paul last week sometime headed toward CT on RT101... I was on my way into RI to go to the Inlaws house and I saw a Red LGT with DRL's disabled, thats why I figured it had be someone who knew something about these cars. I had my LGT, only way you can tell its me is due to the 8000k lights and 3000k fogs... other than that and tint its all stock outside. It was right at the state line pretty much on 101.

WELL after doing this and failing miserably because I also had to do the cam seals, I have some great advice. If you do not have the proper tools to LOCK the cam sprockets in place you will be screwed, with that said if your not venturing to do the cam seals then go for it, just make sure everything is lined up
I did a sohc motor without the tools to position the cam, and that was possible. You can get it to work, it's just a bit tricky to get them to where you need them without a belt on them... Get a guy with three hands to help

Man, I went from Plainfield CT all the way through Springfield MA, to Rutland VT, over to Lebanon NH, and then all the way down to Bellows Falls and then back on to 91 going straight down to Hartford then 84 to rt 2 and home.... 456 miles of driving and not one of you saw me...
You guys stay locked up playing video games all weekend or something?

Friday around 4:45pm Saw a light blue LGT on RT 6 I was headed west on my way out to see Jason and get some new insurance. Driver spotted me because he waved first. I was in my OBP LGT.

Yeah I was gonna say I don't remember gold wheels when I was at his house a while back.
-
Red LGT with gold rims, lowerd, mesh grill, at Wachusett last night. Looked to be in the employee parking area but I'm not positive on that one. RI tags and it was there the whole time I was. 5pm-10pm

I saw a dark Gunmetal colored LGT on R12 at the intersection of Dow Rd. I was taking a left onto Dow and flashed you highs. This was on Saturday around 1 or so. It was the HID headlights and HID yellow fogs that brought my attention to you since I have the same setup.

putnam ct i saw a black lgt. x02 catback lowered tinted. it look like jrb's car
Quite possibly Dombek2k7 I know he was working at the Verizon in Putnam, but one time I did talk to him he was headed back from Willimantic, so I do not know if he gets tossed around or not. And I know it wasn't me since my car is not noticeable lowered, and I still rock the stock cans, as well as its still on my inlaws lift waiting for damn flywheel bolts.
Today I saw a 05-07 Legacy Silver, lowered Black rims, and a catback or just mufflers going on Rt6 east at the 6 and 102 intersection in RI. I was on 102 north 2 cars back waiting to go, I was in my wifes Impreza Outback with the big yellow fogs on it and tinted.

Top Dead Center... Not to sound like a dick, but how good is your car knowledge? If you've never heard of TDC the I would ask around for a helping hand in doing the timing belt if you really don't want to take it to a dealer for service.
I didn't find the timing belt hard to do, but it is an indepth process for a DIY project.
-
I've done two of these now... not a bad job at all. The vice-grip trick works like a charm.
On both jobs, I've had to replace an idler pulley.... a different one each time.
I'm not posititive on how bad or good my Idler's were, but since I had the FBP full kit I did all the pulleys, the WP and the tensioner with the belt.
-
I did not do my oil pump when I did my timing setup. I've heard the statements of doing both the tensioner and waterpump while your in there... but now the oil pump too? Sounds like just another way for a shop to get more coin for the work and replace parts that don't need replacing, OR not replace them and say they did.

Kinda makes you wonder if you picked "OE" if they would have just used the same Sachs kit and just charged you more to tag it as an Original Subaru part. OR if Sachs actually makes two kits... I highly doubt that since only one is listed on Rock Auto, and then only the Exedy one is listed for the 07.
Also your Engagement issue could have been caused by not getting enough throw from the bad bearing, or possibly an air bubble somewhere in the clutch system which is now bled out.
-
Kumho has those Aroma tires, (smell like lavender after driving). I think I'll design a clutch disk that smells like apple pie.
Last thing you need is to give people a reason to burn up their clutches... The do it enough already... LOL
-
Thats odd... I do not know whats in mine currently, but the FBP one I bought which came in a subaru box has Exedy stamped all over it. Wonder if it has to do with the SMFW, DMFW difference.
-
I find that very odd that they used a Sach's kit rather than the OEM subaru clutch made by Exedy. Did you have a choice at the brand and was the subaru one more expensive?
I'm waiting to get mine in soon and I just hope the squeal I get from the clutch when I'm leaving say a stop light on a decent increase will go away. Almost anytime is slips slightly on a start it will make a sound resembling tire squeal.

I just live in the woods so I never see anyone who is on here... I only know of ONE local active member to me.

blue I think, 2.5i legacy in moosup ct today, RI plates. got off 395 at exit 89 and turned left off exit I was behind you. I went down squaw rock road, and when I came back down the road and turned right, I think you were stopped right at the light and got back on 395 north. I have a black 07 lgt
plate was UV-364 RI tags.
-
My 07 came with a full Thule setup in the trunk... I just haven't had any use to put it back on yet. I will most likely use the wife's Impreza Sport if we ever plan on roof mounting anything since her's already has the factory roof rack. Unless of course we want to take the car with the warm seats somewhere... lol
-
Black Legacy 2.5i Rims and possibly tinted tails, over in Wakefield RI last night... on RT108, You pulled into the mall area right after the 1A intersection. You were driving like a complete ass hat and almost rear ended my Wifes Impreza. I'll put the plate number up later when I get home tonight. Grow up and learn to drive or you wont have that car for long.
-
08 possibly black LGT; with NOSTIGT New Hampshire registration... just passed you on the mass pike right now, before exit 7. Wife is driving the AB-737 Impreza.
Your left front headlight led strip was flickering btw.
-
I'll be out in Warwick tonight... Uno's for the wifes birthday, then A.C. Moore... ehh, Gotta keep them happy right?
I never get spotted so I'll let you know where I'll be so you can LOOK for me... LOL

worn struts dont cause more stiffness, but just more bounciness. to be honest, im surprised anyone would call the stock lgt suspension stiff.
worn out susp parts will cause the ride to be softer and bouncy, along with clucking/popping from the worn out part.
Thats what I was going to say... I just did my suspension because it was way to bouncy... and that was due to shot rear struts. The car rides MUCH better now. Probably due to the MSI springs more than the KYB struts.
replacing the timing belt ?

I used a small pair of vice grips... Just go very easy on the pressure... it is only a composite pulley and can crack if you crank down too hard on it.
