  1. Bought new headlights and going to be shipping it out to lightwerkz for full customization since my local body shop sucked. $1100 but price matched the only Subaru retailer...originally quoted $800 per light... Lightwerkz posted your car pic on their Instagram and I had a feeling it was yours since you and me are the only ones with the 3.6RS badges lol. Here is my badge, cleaned up the old glue and polished things up:
  2. I’d suggest waiting for next years models, they will work out all the quirks and they will make the car even better. When it’s time to upgrade to the next Legacy I’d want the next version of eyesight, currently being tested only in Japan on the newer levorg and foresters I believe. I believe the new eyesight will have semi-autonomous driving capability.
  3. Here is a video of the headlights. First video is the driver side c-light not properly installed, the 2nd video is when they corrected it. This weekend I gotta clean up the wiring because they suck how they wired things up.
  4. Both my cousins have a 2016 and 2017 wrx, they are nice, Fun little suckers, but for me I need a bigger car for activities and stuff so extra space for me is huge, especially since I don’t have two cars. If I had two cars I might have opted for a more sportier car like the wrx or even an sti.
  5. Yeah re-opening and closing is a pita...last time I get any shops do it unless it’s lightwerkz, plus they do it in a dust free environment, mine has some dust particles in it, can’t notice it but it’s there. If anything in a year or so I might just get the headlights from them and modded. Overall the turn signals are crazy bright lol.
  6. Okay, this mod was such a PITA, next time I’ll just buy new lights and have it ship it out to a lightwerkz and have them do it, from the outside they look perfect but the driver side light has a little gap, can’t do much about it, I had to have them take it apart 3 times becaus the first time they forgot the plastic part of the turn signal, the 2nd time they scratched the chrome so I had them repaint both headlights black and the third time they didn’t align the c light on the driver side properly, sure is cost me $350 for the install but never again. The install with the LED is a pita since my lights cabling is all inside the stupid light. What a cluster**** I’ll have a friend make sure the driver side light is properly sealed so no moisture can get in, thankfully it’s summer. Washed the car carefully. With that said I’m in love with the mod, just not something I’d recommend anyone doing it, taking apart the lights and going back is a disaster, we used the heat gun method the first time, it didn’t turn out well at all, the 2nd time with oven it was much better but the damage was already done.
  7. A friend of mine was right we were talking about this same very issue last week... I’m going to make sure I have them check mine every oil chance. Yes I have had the car less than 9 months but rather be safe, even with the extended warranty. Subaru needs to fix all these leakage issues with their cars, even their 4th and 5th gen had this issue.
  8. Yeah, no bulbs, it lit up the tube...that’s what I was looking for originally.
  9. One more thing, we couldn’t figure out how to disable the oem turn signals in the headlight, it makes all the other lights blink super fast if we take it out... I wish DD offered better instructions.
  10. We got the c light installed. My friend did the install, it didn’t turn out perfect, the side marker on the left had less paint so it looked perfect, the one on the right he used a fair amount. Basically the orange side marker shows a bit on the left and on the right it doesn’t. I’m wondering if I can just turn off the side marker light without having to take the headlight off. Next thing is, we weren’t able to figure out how to turn off the oem led light...now both lights are on, it’s not noticeable, but when you use the turn signal the oem one stays on... Any idea how we can get this taken care of without having to open up the headlights? Honestly the taking apart headlight with a heat gun was a major PITA. Overall the lights are super bright, crazy how much difference it makes.
  11. The fog lights jdm usdm are same size so it should fit just fine, and yes the pricing is a bit much...
  12. Also ordered the 3.6RS badge from NZ, it’s about $130 with shipping, cheapest I could find since most others asked well over $200. I could have paid about $113 but opted to have tracking so it gives me a piece of mind since it’s an expensive piece. Then I messaged Subaru of NZ to get me the part number for the carbon fiber intake and then see what the pricing would be. Lastly I might order the JDM fog light bezel with the light strip and get a module for it to work as turn signals...
  13. Tomorrow I will be installing the c lights at a friends shop and paint the oranage ambers black. Matte finish.
  14. Looks like they won’t fit because I put it side to side to my current amber delete and it appears they are a bit small. Ouch...
  15. That’s the scary part, they haven’t sent me a quote yet but they ordered the part already and have it on hand! He will get back to me with NZ post shipping cost. If they good then I expect to order the carbon fiber intake from them.
  16. This is it no? Waiting for them to give me shipping estimate via NZ post. Going with someone else.
  17. I found these: http://www.subispeed.com/2015-subaru-sti/exterior/headlights/subispeed-headlight-sidemarkers-by-olm-2015-wrx-2015-sti-dark-smoke#.W2P6K9JKiUk Same it appears but much cheaper.
  18. Anyone know where I can get jdm side markers? I am not too fond about amber in the headlights and when I do the c light mod with the diode dynamics I’d like to replace it with a jdm side marker. I don’t wanna use a vinyl on top.
  19. Yep, hence why I am just gonna do the c light and just smoking the ugly orange ember.
  20. I’ve been thinking about smoking my headlights but I think I’ll pass on that, I will however look into smoking out the orange reflectors and replace the Subaru c light and get the diode dynamics c light which will have the amber turn signal using the c-ligth. My friend does headlight opening so he should be able to do a good job with it.
