Just brought home my new Legacy GT! I already like the Ice Silver Metallic more than my OBP 05 GT.

Welcome, nice ride. The 2010 is SSM color.

Interesting video. 1st gear to upper RPMs way quicker with the 6MT. Car sounds great.
Here's a vid of our subie club last weekend. Forward to the 1min mark

whooo! congrats

The aggressive one actually holds itself on rather easily, I just now opened my packaging and am pretty impressed with the quality. Fitted like a glove, one idea I've been pondering is to color match the parts that flair outwards and then leave the center portion to be flat black. What do you guys think?
So I'm stuck in a similar way to have some black accent on the front and side.

NGK 2309 (LFR7AIX) Plugs and TurboSmart 34mm BPV
So the recommended plug is
Iridium IX LFR6AIX-11
Stock num 6619
Gap .032
So looking at some info tying to learn..... And so the 2309s are one grade colder.
5th gen stock turbo pushes >75hp down low but is pathetic above 4k. TMIC adds about 20HP. This does not seem to warrant colder plugs.
Say above 75-100 hp from stock is a general guide to go one step cooler. What are to guidelines to go to colder plugs as a precautionary measure to keep combustion chamber temps within range, as to not pull timing to prevent detination and engine failure?
Also are the colder gapped any different than .032?
Thanks!!

I lasted 12K miles Stage I + 24K miles on Stage II with a 100 mile per day commute. I noticed it slip first in 4th and 5th gear accelerating on the highway. I set a four week limit. The clutch was toasted.
Once the new clutch was in, it was clear that the OEM clutch was never strong. For the first time, the car launched.
Well, when its time, its time!
-
Are you worried about your clutch with those numbers??
310 TQ is getting up there for the OEM clutch but it should hang in there for a 25-35 thousand miles.

4th gen legacy and 06+ WRX work. Single mass flywheel, 5MT. Many of us have ACT clutch and flywheel. Some have LWFW. Mike @ Infamous has been very helpful in this area.

I'll be honest here, I'm not feeling the black on silver.
Good inputs. The comment was for the side skirts. The lip is a lot of surface area to leave all black.
-
^should look nice all painted. planning to paint the skirts also or leave them black?
I just don't know. Leaning towards black. Like the contrast on the SSM .... this week.

Yes, got them at WBM from Ravenspec.

Yikes, don't think I'll be buying a lip unless I raise the car. May possibly work if I go in at an extreme angle though, decisions....
That's why I settled on the JDM version as it does not lower the front, just flairs the sides.
Trying to wait for the Bilstiens to install the lip but may not make it ...

I'm under the impression that 04-07 STI Brembos will not fit due to parking brake size.
I was able to pick up a set of rear Brembos off a 2010 STI that had an engine fire with only 10k miles for $500.
This is true. The brake drum diameter is smaller before 08 STI. No rear adapter needed. Have Brembo 07s on front and 08s on rear. I've posted the diameters in the past. Search drum diameter in main 5th gen area and see what you get.
-
@scooby - great pics. It must be great to have many GTs to meet up with. I rarely see other 5th gens.
Also, save up for a clutch; the OEM can't hold the torque.

Spotted SSM 5th gen LGT in the wild at Warwick Mall by Target

do you guys think that 04 STi REAR brembos would fit if you could get the 08 STi bracketry?
NO. Need 08+ STI rears. Ebrake drum bigger diameter.
-
I believe the reason they say 2009+ is because the 5th gen actually came out in 2009, but didn't get to North America until 2010.
My 2010 was made in July 2009.

Most excellent!

Exactly, the dealer may have only worked there for a short time. Anyhow, he's on the forum to share the experience and figure things out. Welcome.
