  1. So now you have this insanely fast, purpose-built race kart.

Serious question, and I seriously don't know the answer--are you in any way qualified / experienced to drive a car like that?

I'm sure that I would do better "in class" in something like a '97 camry. Sure my lap times would be faster in a ferarri, but against other ferarri's I would be bottom tier, where as in the camry I would probably do pretty well compared to others driving camry's.

Does that make sense? I guess I'm just wondering what the racing "pedigree" is here that warrants a jump from turbo subaru to race kart (or whatever that thing is called!!!). Maybe I missed it throughout the thread here and I'm trying to catch up, but I thought you were ex-cop gone racer with subaru stuff and now race kart?

**that youtube vid looks faster than shit!

  2. I'm sure that maybe a subie boosted motor isn't the best race motor, but what the hell is going on here? How many motors have you been through now? There really doesn't seem to be any good reason for it other than just sheer bad luck, especially on this last motor that was really supposed to be more or less "the one," right?

I'm not trying to pile on here, I just don't see how you haven't had any bit of reliability out of even one of your motors. Also not reading every post here so sorry if I've missed something major.

    Good luck, whatever you choose!

  3. Hey Barman, are you still producing these kits? It seems like there's some unfulfilled interest at the moment. I don't want to hijack your gig but if you're out of the game let us know as I can produce these fairly easily.

If anyone is having difficulty getting into contact with barmanbean and still wants to BP their TMIC send me a PM. If there's enough interest I'll gladly upgrade my account to vendor as well. If he's still producing this kit then disregard and thanks for reading.

    Sending you a PM.

  4. The question here is...why are so many of you morons using your grill within a foot of your home? Seems pretty sketch to me.. Out here in hot, dry, anything-can-catch-on-fire-at-anytime California, even most of the meth heads know that's not a good idea.

Because most of us don't live in a damn desert.

  5. I think that the 05 4eat driveshaft that I've had on my car is on its way out. I bought a replacement 08 4eat driveshaft, took it to a reputable transmission shop to have them swapped, and they say that the mount is different. Unfortunately I havent had time to take a look myself, but does anyone know if there are differences amongst 05-09 driveshafts?

Not that I'm aware of, unless you had a Legacy shaft and picked up an OBK shaft this time. The carrier bearing has some extra height to it for the OBKs, but you can run either on either car really.

  6. In general, over the years there have been many members that have been able to fix damaged TMICs with the kits. Unless the separation is so bad that the internal gasket is coming out, I'd venture that it's fixable. THAT SAID, I do not market the kit as a fix for damaged / leaking intercoolers, mostly because I simply can't guarantee that to be the case whereas I can absolutely guarantee that a properly BP'ed TMIC will not develop leaks due to increased boost pressure.

I have a slew of emails in my inbox and will get back to everyone in next couple days. If you need anything related to kits just email me at barmanbean@gmail.com. I have a list going of those who still have interest (no obligation necessary) and will provide full kit details / instructions to anyone who wished to try and make their own.
