  1. ^correct. the splines may be different, but that means we may have to use the one from the tribecca(assuming the tribecca uses a r160) but then again, the spec b uses a r180... all these things have to be tested. the outer axle stub from the sti might be ale to be installed on the legacy axle if the splines are in fact different. the real problem i see is that the hub plate with studs may sit at a different depth than it normally would, that would locate the brake rotor outside of the position it should be for the factory caliper bracket. a new caliper bracket would have to be made then. but all this has to be determined from a test fitting with a 05+ or 08+ sti rear rotor and caliper using this hybrid hub/bearing assembly that we are talking about. FBP, do you have any old 05+ legacy and STI/tribecca rear hubs sitting around to try things with, or perhaps you could send me them so i can mess around with them? we first have to see if these assemblies can be disassembled and the hub plate from one can be pressed in to the other.
  2. i have some ideas. i havent had a chance to look at the rear hubs for the 05-09 legacy up close, but i know they come as an assembly. i know the older impreza/legacy had hubs that could be pressed together. now although the new hubs come as an assembly, I'm curious to see if they can be dissasembled using a press or otherwise so the hub(separated from the bearing) from a 05+ or 08+ sti or tribecca can be put in to the bearing and knuckle flange of a 05+ legacy. I have a press myself, so i was waiting till i could get a hold of a old rear hub/bearing assembly of a legacy and sti/tribecca to see if i could make something happen. FBP, if you guys are willing to experiment with this, given that you have access to parts, perhaps you could make this hybrid im talking about.
  3. ^the rear tribecca hubs wont fit your car.
  4. well, all we need is a solution for the rear. Im curious to see what l'frisé has in mind.
  5. are you trying to put the rear susp from an 08 sti in to a 05 LGT? it wont work.
  6. can we buy this already? this thread is one big tease.
  7. just to add to this thread...ClimberD is in the process of test fitting a 5MT Diff to the 5eat trans. if successful, it will open doors for you 5eat folk to get more traction up front. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/5eat-front-lsd-fitment-test-134603.html
  8. ^are you sure its thicker? compare it to the front tribecca knuckle which is the same as an 05-10 legacy but has the 5x114.3 hub.
  9. what does this have to do with hub bolt patters?
  10. wow dude! you are getting really creative with is stuff!
  11. IMO you would be better off trying to press apart a 05 lgt front and rear hub/bearing and see if the hub sections are the same. if so, you could trake apart a 08 sti front hub/bearing and press the hub in to the 05 lgt rear beaing. though the 05+ lgt hub/bearings come as a unit, that is just how they are serviced. one should be able to take one apart to mess around with. anyone have a worn out front and rear lgt hub/bearing? they should be pretty common
  12. Nevermind about the tribecca. the rear susp is totally different compared to the 05-09 LGT tribecca- http://www.trademotion.com/schematics/mechanical/F739100.gif 05-09 lgt http://www.trademotion.com/schematics/mechanical/F731050.gif they are different. cant use tribecca rear suspension parts.
  13. should be ok as long as the rear knuckle's caliper bracket bolt points are the same as an outback. i dont think anyone has gone this route so you would be the first.
  14. talking about the whole thing/ the rear 08+ imprezza suspension it totally dfferent than the 05-09 rear suspension. 05-09 lgt is a multi link setup while the 08+ imprezza is a dual wishbone setup. nothing is interchangable.
  15. 05+ sti stuff wont fit. gotta be 08+ , and even then its only the fronts.
  16. no, only the fronts will fit, not the rears.
  17. the rear susp is different on the 08 sti compared to the 05 LGT so oyu cant use that. instead look at the tribecca rear knuckle. the tribecca uses 5x114.3 hubs but has the same suspension as an 05-09 outback with is the same as the lgt for the most part.
  18. yes. spec b springs are meant for the bilstein struts they come on. prolly alittle stiffer and the fronts are alittle shorter due to the higher bottom spring perch and thickness difference of the front top hats.
  19. oh that really makes me want to upgrade the exhaust on my H6 obk sdn. And dot a 6mt swap as well
  20. would anyone here post a clip of a 3.0R with a prodrive or cobb or AVO exhaust please? Trying to decide if i want to get the AVO outback cans for my 3.0r sedan.
