  1. you may want to pick up the KTA124 rear arm kit from whiteline. you may be able to get better fitment via more camber and not have to roll the fender as much. PLus if you decaide to run wider wheels and ties later, you are gonna want that extra adjustability to make things fit. i never liked NT-01's as and autox tire, but if you got them cheap, they'll do.

  3. I took mine to a couple national events. mostly in the northeast. At the 2011 NJ Prosolo, if i hadn't snapped axles on the second day i was ready to be in trophy contention. was only lightly off the pace on the right side course and was ready to throw down the second day. And this was against the likes of Sam Strano and Sam Krauss Also in 2008, at the finger lakes prosolo, my Co-drive put down the single fastest ESP time there but ran out of chances to do it 1 more time to take the win. ended up in 4th, only 6/10ths back from the combined time lead. and those were the only 2 national level events i took it to. I have consistently beat the 2013 prosolo ESP winner at local competition. My LGT was very competitive on a national level. if i had gone for fender modification and wide tires, it would have done some serious business. The car is very capable and you can get it below 3200lbs with simple mods. my car was 3277 with the stock seats and battery.
  4. the legacy can be a winner in ESP class nationally with the right mods and driver. That much is fact.
  5. even with a vf52, a larger TMIC will flow better and make more power, more reliably. bulletproof mod or not, OP has nice diffs in that trans.

  7. it would be ok, as long as the diff is meant for the 6speed. It would be better if you were to find a 05+ OEM USDM sti diff as they are a helical unit and generally operate faster and more predictably than the suretrac. but if you can get that suretrac on the cheap, go for it. the 04 USDM STI came with a front suretac but it was changed in later years to the helical for the reasons stated above.

  14. spec b springs def are thinner gauge compared to lgt springs. didnt really compare the height, but the spec b springs def compressed more than lgt springs. so it could be that and not the uncompressed height as you said. either way, they did the trick.
  15. no, they are shorter to accommodate the higher lower perch on the front bilstein shocks.
  16. Alright, just swapped in GT springs in place of the spec.b springs in the front on the Bils and the ride height is now perfect. completely even from front to back with just about 2 fingers worth of fender gap.
  17. so ive been playing around with this and installed spec.b take-offs on my OB. the rear ended up sitting perfect, but for some reason the front was way way too low. was rubbing on some turns(tire to fender). So just as a trial, i threw the OB springs on the spec b shocks and now the the front is too high, almost at stock Outback ride height. Im thinking maybe regular LGT springs will split the difference, but there is only one way to find out. here is what it looked like with the spec b springs in front
  18. the car will be lower regardless of the spring used. the OB ride height is not from the springs, but from the extended shock bodys. so if you run konis in LGT bodys, the OB will be 2" lower even with OB springs.
  19. yup. you'd think the trans would go before the axles though.
  20. also, if you do find a r160 option, you will need beefier rear axles. i snaped both rear axles at once, after i upgraded the my rear diff. and again, this is at stage 2 power levels.
  21. yep, the spider gears, both times. the only other option for a r160 is to find a JDM suretrac from a jdm 5spd STi. i had one at one point and that thing was very strong. Also cusco makes clutch type r160 units that can take the beating.
  22. The stock r160 can barely hold stage 2 power levels when launching I've been through 2.
