  1. But is the X5 M? I mean, maybe it is, but don't assume. The 05-09 Outback XT is rated for like 2700 lbs, and the LGT wagon is "towing not recommended" despite being essentially the same car. The Ram SRT10 is rated for like 1000 lbs or something else ridiculously low. Wouldn't be surprised if the X5 M was similar.
  2. An X5 M sings this siren song. It's like, you know it's such a bad idea, but you want it anyway. I think my wife's next car is going to be one hot SUV or another. Just not sure which one. The SQ5 looks kinda cool, but not sure I want those maintenance costs. The Explorer ST looks cool too, but I'm afraid it would spend half the time in the shop. The Japanese are getting their lunch eaten on the hot-SUV craze right now, so unless one of them comes out with something, I guess that idea is out. GM needs to come out with a Trailblazer SS successor or something...
  3. No, Alfas fall apart like an Alfa. There really is no substitute. [emoji38]
  4. I thought it was the 5-speed that had the problems, and not the 6-speed? Possible I am not up on my Honda transmission problems though. I also know the 4-speeds in the early-2000s Civics were pretty awful.
  5. That's cute. You trust Ford transmissions. Even after multiple class-action suits over the craptacular PowerShifts.
  6. I mean, we've been over this ad nauseam on here. Subaru saw success when they started mainstreaming their cars in the 2008-2010 era. Thus, they abandoned any pretense of catering to the enthusiast beyond the BRZ (which likely will wither on the vine at this point) and the WRX/STI. After they killed the LGT for 2013, the writing was on the wall.
  7. I was referring to both. The Outback is only about 110 lbs more than the Legacy. That's less than the difference between having an average sized person in the passenger seat, or just having the driver. The 5th gen in all variations is just too overweight to have a 175 hp engine with a wide-ratio 6MT and high drivetrain loss in it.
  8. The 5th gen (4th gen Outback) 2.5i 6MT is absolute garbage. It's totally gutless, to the point that 6th gear is useless even at highway speeds because if you have to pass someone, you're downshifting to 4th or 3rd. The car is too heavy and the ratios are geared for fuel economy, which isn't good on an underpowered car IMO. I would rather have a manual 9 times out of 10, but honestly it was a good move for them to remove the manual for 2015.
  9. Colorado is way too small inside for me. Have to put the driver's seat all the way back, which makes the rear seat unusable. Honestly, at this point if I wanted a new pickup, I'd get a Ridgeline. A neighbor just got one, and I sat in one at an auto show. For people who don't have to tow 10,000 lbs, haul a bed full of Sakrete, or drive through a muddy field in low range (i.e. 90% of consumer pickup buyers), it's all the pickup they need, and it's really nice. Great interior, bed has a built in cooler (even has a drain plug), and drives like a Honda Pilot.
  10. The problem now is less the lack of reliability, and more that they just make boring cars with their only selling point being AWD. As more manufacturers add AWD to mainstream cars (see: Nissan Altima), fewer people will buy Subarus. Is this also why the forum has been hosted on an overheating Speak-N-Spell for the past 5 years? I've upgraded some people's laptops twice in that time. That's an idea... I'll ship LegGTLT one of the old laptops to host the site on. It'll probably be better than what's running it now. He can hook it up in his basement next to the router.
  11. I don't see you posting any pics of sammiches, so I guess we're even.
  12. Also not a sandwich. As much as I love Fogo de Chao, this is a sammich thread.
  13. Forgot to say that I picked this up last weekend. We will be selling my wife's Veloster Turbo and she will drive the Stinger GT2.
  14. Time to reboot the Speak'n'Spell again? Either that or dropkick the damn thing off a cliff
  15. I have bad news for you... That doesn't meet the requirements for a FS ad either. You should probably read the rules. BTW, the 15 post requirement is to stop spammers and scammers. IIRC the biggest CTS-V forum requires 50 posts before you can even SEE the FS subforum!
  16. MagRide is awesome. My SS on MagRide did not feel like a 3900 lb car. The adjustable shocks on the Stinger can't hold a candle to it. Honestly, even in the sportiest (firmest) mode, the ride was still better than any other car I've owned, with almost zero handling tradeoff.
  17. ATS-V is too small. Really want to get back into an SS. Loved mine and miss it. Hoping for a manual with no sunroof this time around, but they are super rare. Wife also has to approve the purchase.
  18. I was disappointed by the 2013 CTS-V manual that I test drove. Keep in mind that the redesign was in 2008, so the tech is over 10 years old, and it's pretty small inside. Plus the non Recaro seats suck, the moonroof sunshade is translucent, and even with only 13k on it, the one I drove was full of creaks and rattles. All this for $43k!
