  1. I mean, you've already seen it sooooooo
  2. You guys should send a PM to LegGTLT. He is the admin and can definitely address any issues with site performance.
  3. You know this isn't nearly as easy as you imply, right? Having the full donor car will help, but there's likely a good bit of custom wiring involved. The EJ255 is DBW with CAN-BUS management. Very few people have been able to even swap the powertrain from an LGT to a 2.5i.
  4. You don't need time, money, and expertise to do a complex swap? Yeah okay. LMK how it goes doing that swap in a week with $100 and someone who's never touched electrical before.
  5. Very little is impossible, if you have enough time, money, and expertise. I kinda doubt tysparks has those things though. That's my point.
  6. The physical part isn't the issue. If the electronics were easy, we'd see a lot more non-GT Legacys with EJ255s. R&R = Remove & Reinstall. You still have to do that if you're putting in a shortblock. Once again, the physical part isn't the issue. We're not talking about some early 90s OBDI Honda here. A lot of things changed between 2000 and 2010. Seriously, do a search on "EJ255 into NA Legacy" on here. The only people who have done it successfully had a donor car at their disposal. While you're at it, search "auto to manual swap" as well. Don't think anyone was ever able to get one to work like it did from the factory.
  7. No I'm not. I'm being realistic. You gonna have that Crosstrek all paid off by the time your wife wants a new car? You gonna have room to park it? You gonna have the $10k+ (more likely $15k+) to get the standalone CAN-BUS-compatible ECU wired in and everything working reliably? Do you even know what's involved in transplanting an engine and transmission from one CAN-BUS car to another? Why wouldn't you just spend the money on a project car that has better performance per dollar? An LS powered Camaro or C5 Corvette is going to get you a lot more bang-for-the-buck. K. Fact remains that it's relatively easy to build an EJ (although, have you ever even R&Red an engine before, let alone tried to build a Subaru shortblock? It's not as simple as it seems). It's not nearly as easy to swap an engine and transmission into a car where they were never available stock.
  8. My excuse for what? Being a realist and knowing what I'm talking about? Or if it does, by the time it does, we'll all be buying self-driving electric cars. And, more to the point, the Spec.B will be dead long before then. Turbo EJs aren't exactly the most reliable thing ever.
  9. Fixt. If you think it's a good idea to DD something like that, either you're unemployed, or you're a dumbass. [emoji38]
  10. I dunno, there's a difference between a vehicle that has a bunch of shit that's broken, and a vehicle that never had any of that shit in the first place. [emoji38]
  11. Yeah, if you think that's going to be an easy swap, I'ma have to direct you to all the threads on this very forum about swapping an EJ255/EJ257 into an NA 4th gen Legacy. Hint: it hasn't gotten any easier as cars have gotten more complicated electronically.
  12. What in the hot crispy Kentucky Fried F*ck are you on about?
  13. That's like saying the Ford Fiesta has the best 3-cylinder on the market. I mean, okay, but it's still a 3-cylinder.
  14. I can believe that. On the other hand, they will come to your house to put it on when it comes in. Tesla service comes to my mom's house to swap between her winter and summer wheels, free of charge.
  15. And, it's one of the least reliable cars of any propulsion method out there, according to CR. I blame the falcon-wing doors. My mom replaced her 2006 A4 with a 2016 Model S, and my dad is looking to replace his 2010 Outback with a Model Y Performance when it gets here. BTW, those Model 3 Performance are no joke. Someone ran one in my region last year for autocross, and he was consistently in the top 5 raw times at each event. Would be a great LGT replacement for any original owners still hanging onto theirs.
  16. Yeah, except for the fact that literally everyone who had an LGT back then now no longer owns one.
  17. Yeah, that explains it. Last LGT was 2012. Lots of people with stock 4th gens with dead turbos (due to banjo bolt and/or OCV issues) tbat end up grenading the engine. On a high performance car, staying stock is no guarantee, even with NA engines. Those E60 M5s with the V10 are notoriously finicky.
  18. Yeah, come to think of it, it may be more reliable than the average LGT on here.
