  1. The job isn't in Oklahoma, that's just where one of the training facilities is located. I would be in Wyoming, Texas, or Louisiana.
  2. Well I just got back from Oklahoma for another job interview. So the plan for now is going with a nice 20g turbo that is a direct replacement for that amr. Hopefully the car will be done in a week or so. And since the new job has potential to make me a good amount of money I'm just gonna go with this for now and then after i get settled in at a new location I'm going to build a 10sec motor with a 35r or bigger.
  3. According to the flow bench the heads should make good power up top, but ill have to see what they dyno says too.
  4. Yup 4 motors down now. Unless you count the one that ran for 30 seconds. But everything is balanced, and nothing but high quality parts. 8k isn't anything too crazy. And it's not like everytime I drive it ill take it to redline.
  5. 8k redline in mine, I'm hoping to hear about the turbo ideas from the shop soon. It will either be another amr turbo or some sort of Garrett turbo going in. Not much longer and I should be back on the road with my car. I'm not gonna know how to act having a car again, it's been too long.
  6. I'm looking for stuff vendors have in stock. That way I know the part is good and if for some reason it's not it will have a warranty. And I'd like to be in the 65lbs per min or better range. The last turbo was 52lbs per min so I think with the extra air i will be able to break the 11sec barrier.
  7. Yeah I've thought about holset, and they are great turbos but they are somewhat hard to find. Especially on short notice
  8. I do like the Borgwarner efr series turbos, and I've looked into them but its going to boil down to how quick this can be done.
  9. Very close to what I had in mind strizzy. This shop is a Garrett dealer as well
  10. I need a turbo big enough to take me into the 10s I'd rather not cheap out on turbos either I'm waiting to hear what the shop reccomends and compare it to what I've been thinking about
  11. The thought keeps going through my mind of getting a new turbo, if this shop can pull it off in time and if I have money, I might get a rotated setup
  12. It depends how fast that can be done. I'm moving in 2 weeks, so what ever is quickest
  13. No, it had too much end play in the shaft, it's due to the last place that tuned it. Under low boost (12psi or less) it had bad compressor surge. So this will be turbo number 4 for me...
  14. So much for catching a break... Just found out my turbo is shot.
  15. The motor is out and being torn apart, hoping to know what the cause was soon.
  16. King bearings, I used the brand new design they had out that had extra oil clearance for higher boost
  17. Sorry I meant $35000 not $3500. But yes I measured everything I fully blueprinted the block, everything was looking good. Except for the oil leak from that crap pan. I'm not really sure what went wrong. This is just beyond depressing, I just want to drive my car, it's been a year and a half since I've driven my car, and it's still my only car.
  18. I have no idea, I blue printed and balanced everything. I don't know what caused this. I was told the crank that came with that block was brand new, and now it has me wondering if had been used and maybe repaired. All this money and year of work I poured into this was all a giant waste. I'm beyond bummed. Worse part is I have to move before August first. And it looks like ill be going to Knoxville Tennessee, Denver Colorado, Salt Lake City Utah, Richmond Virginia, or Connecticut. Just depends how these interviews to. But seeing as this is my only car this could put me in a huge bind. The shop forced air technologies is goin to rebuild it and they said they will try and have it done before the 28 of this month. So maybe hopefully I can catch some sort of break seeing as now this will be motor number 5 and close to $3500 spent on just motors, for ony 7182 miles of driving in three years.
  19. Bad news the oil pan was full of my brand new bearings. So. I guess it's time for another rebuild.
  20. Going to pick my car up in a few hours, I didn't sleep a wink last night
  21. I will post some up soon as I get it back it's at a shop here until Monday getting the oil pan fixed. I started to take a video yesterday on the first start up but we shut it off right when I started to take it
  22. Yeah my dyslexia gets the best of me sometimes. But the engine cranked right up soon as that was fix and ran pretty smooth considering the cam selection
