I'd love to hit up their summer camp, I was jealously drooling when FM would update their facebook page. -

Well no changes to the cold start odd idle issues, but I did just order a Flyin' Miata V-Maxx Classic coil over kit -

I want to see better pics of that wagon -
If the exhaust leak is big enough and they cannot get a stable enough flow reading at the tail pipe they can fail it for an exhaust leak.

Your smog guy is slightly off the cat must be carb certified
-
If you have an under tray headers are not easily spotted, but the downpipe is no matter what.

Yeah its a little harder than you think to prove residence in those counties, and live somewhere else. If that is true it's new to me. I used to have cars smogged in South California while they were registered in Northern California.

Yeah I don't post much on any of the Miata forums but I do search a lot. It's a very interesting group of people, but less willing to help or simply don't know because they had someone else do the work. I never did figure out the cold start issue, but I have a new O2 sensor and plug wires waiting for me at home. I'm also getting pretty terrible gas mileage about 23mpg. I also recommend a balanced approach to the Miata forums. -

Washed it today after driving it to work. Going on a drive with some other Miatas tomorrow morning http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/31/genadanu.jpg -
Sort of... If you go to a STAR test location and they complete the inspection using the new requirements there is no sniffer. That being said for now the old Smog check II is still being performed and those have a sniffer test. If you can't pass a sniff, because of no cats, you would likely fail the STAR test too. There is still a visual component of the new test.

Actually my girlfriend's Wagon.... 2 folding tables, 9 folding chairs, 2 ice tubs, couple of plastic containers and a few other party items! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/30/6ugeneju.jpg -
Technically a different IC is legal, however pretty much every smog tech will fail you for it. An aftermarket IC that maintains all stock connections and doesn't change the piping is technically legal.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree with seabass here. Last Thursday my girlfriend and I drove from Sacramento to Reno over Donner Pass without a trailer and on some of the major climbs I was manually forcing the car into 4th to stop it from hunting between 5th and 3rd gear. I really missed my 6spd on those climbs. I could just set the cruise and let it go if I were in my car

What is it then?

Yeah, that's where I'm kinda struggling the 99 is arguably the best of both worlds, get the better NB suspension, great engine but its still based of the NA chassis. One of the biggest thing's I'm really dealing with is this damned 1.8 swap has never run perfectly, and frankly I don't really trust the car to drive it very far because of it. Cold starts it loads up and sputters when you rev it up. Also smogging it will always be an issue, since the recommended way to do the 1.8 swap is not smog legal in CA, realistically I should go back to a 1.6 so sorting out any mechanical gremlins will be a lot easier. I've also found a couple of 1.6 motors locally for 300-500 but another motor swap is a lot more work... -

Ok I know I've done all this work to my 90, buuuuuut..... there is a local guy selling a 99 asking 4500... would I be nuts to buy the NB and sell my NA?
