  1. 6UL is more money than I really want to spend, consider that I got the car for $650 and it's supposed to be somewhat of a budget toy that will see occasional track duty.
  2. See I think I want to stay with springs and shocks so I know 15x9 isn't an option. The reason I was leaning towards 15x7.5 is because I can fit them without any modifications to the fenders. Most 15x8 are in the +20 range and tire rack says it requires fender rolling or other modifications. 205's on a 7.5" wheel is still a good fit.
  3. I'm thinking some TRMotorsports wheels from tire tack in 15x7.5
  4. Yes, but the state considers the ECU as part of the emissions equipment and I really don't want to swap in the OBDII from a 96 car. I'm more concerned about visual inspection over the sniffer
  5. I wanted to stay away from the VVT motor because of smog issues in CA... As it is I'm pushing my luck with the 1.8L swap.... I'd really like to find a 99-00 head in the future though in my research they help a lot with hp and torque.
  6. Delivery was $50... All told it was $860 including tax and delivery. It has about 100k on it, runs and has good compression.
  7. I was thinking the same thing... Saw a silver LGT Wagon this morning on Sunset Blvd making a right onto Atherton in Rocklin.
  8. Looks like a blast, and that VW really couldn't drive lol
  9. it is a car port that sits on an engineered retaining wall that is about 10 feet high. Behind the car are stairs that lead to the back deck. It's a great place to work on cars. Well for now we are going to tear it down and see what it would need to run. My end goal is a 1.8 with 99-00 head, but who knows when that will happen.
  10. I'd love an 08-09 spec.B bumper but cannot afford to do the work right lol.
  11. A had our weekly Subaru meet at Buffalo Wild Wings there on Thursday.
  12. A friend at work thinks they might have found a running 1.8 for me:)
  13. I just want any running motor at this point but the important piece is I'm in CA so the basic 1.8 swap I can slide through smog and no one will notice. Turbo isn't a real option for me since it would never pass visual in CA. If I can get the 96 1.8 near me for cheap then I can save for the 99-00 head later. Question for you guys....how difficult is it to rotate your motors with the spark plugs out?
  14. I'm actually looking at the FM reroute kit once I get the car running again. However in about 90% sure that the head and bottom end need to be rebuilt, so I'm now looking for a 1.8 motor.
  15. It's been installed for about 4 weeks now. I was just bring lazy nothing was wrong with mine just took my time getting around to installing it.
  16. Well I got the head off and back on. Car runs, but something isn't right with #1. Plugs say that only #1 is rich the others are firing just fine. New compression tester for DOHC motors is on order and I also plan to test my injectors.
  17. I wish I had found that on Monday when I was ordering parts. I was just planning on doing the crescent wrench trick to hold them in place.
  18. Got in a few hours of work today. Timing belt it's ready to come off as soon as I get the cams locked into place. after that I'll work on getting the head off. There is water in some cylinders and it appears to have blown a radiator house at some point because there is rusty coolant residue all over the engine.
  19. Parts came in I'll probably tinker some today with the real work to get the head off tomorrow
  20. Head gasket kit and plugs came in today. I still plan to keep the spec.B but I'll likely sell the 3000GT
