  1. Yeah but I'm not too surprised, Miatas are a car someone test drives loves how sporty it is and then a year or two later can't deal with the impracticalities anymore.
  2. Just got the vin and ran carfax on it... Clean title 6 probably 7 owners. Mileage seems accurate.
  3. Yeah it sounds too good to be true, but I won't know if I don't go look at it. Yeah our emissions are, but with the number of cars we have and with the way our geography causes bad air quality it's a necessary evil.
  4. I found one for $6k locally. Clean title, 117k miles, MSM pinkish red and the Grand Touring interior. The main reason I'm considering it is it gives me a lot more options for power while being easy to go back stock for CA emissions. Basically I'd go megasquirt intake and exhaust and put about 180whp down. If I did the same thing with my current NB2 I'd be lucky to put 145hp down. I am not willing to spend the necessary money to get the NC ID want, and that's assuming I could actually find a white Club with a soft top and manual transmission.
  5. So I'm contemplating buying a MSM, but I hear people either love them or hate them. Mostly because of the 6spd with the 4.10 rear end and the craptastic stock ecu. Not sure what to do
  6. HAHA yep when the picture is small it looks like you have a large goatee, but now that I've zoomed in it is the seat wing
  7. Oh I miss heard it and the way they worded it was a little confusing to me. You are right though they did say the RS3's were slower.
  8. I also lost faith in them when they said worn RS3's were faster than RE71's
  9. The Aviator got the same basic engine as the Mach 1, 4.6 DOHC 4V. The 5R55 transmission was trash though lol
  10. The basic Mustang GT stayed 2V until 05 when it got the 3V motor, which is basically the same as the motor in my Explorer. The Mustang had an aluminum block instead of iron in the Explorer. Apparently Mustang supercharger kits fit the Explorer
  11. They use a 2V version of the 4.6L. The block is basically the same but the 3V heads are way better and the 4V version he has is even more better.
  12. Just keep an eye on the chain guides as they are all basically the same for the 4V and 3V motors, and the main trouble spot on the 4.6/5.4. The others apply only to cars with cam phasers, and I don't think the 4V motors had the spark plug issues as the 2V and 3V had. Haha my Exploder shifts at 6k rpm and it's still pulling pretty strong. 5K had to be supremely boring on that motor. The 4.6 is almost perfectly square so it loves to rev!
  13. Yeah I've done a bunch of research on the 3V version which is in my Exploder. It seems like the chain guides are the weakest points.
  14. Oh yeah well that's a little different, but still not too bad. Check out the timing chain guides while you are there.
  15. Well the good news is a 302 hg replacement is a little more easy than on an EJ
  16. Good to know. Let me know the next time you head to ThunderHill I'll try to head up to help out.
  17. I like the idea of requiring some sort training before allowing anyone to carry.
  18. Price would have to be right for me to haul the trailer up and pick it up. I'm not sure I'm even in a place to make it happen right now.
  19. Ha I know that feeling also... I'm 5'11" but have long arms and legs too. I haven't actually measured my wing span but buying pants and long sleeve shirts is always an adventure.
  20. Here I'm somewhat looking for a non-running 5mt LGT Wagon. I figure if I'm going to get back in the game it will be all around better to buy a non-running one and then build it the way I want it to be.
