  1. Is this you? https://carsandbids.com/auctions/KZJvYXLA/2005-subaru-legacy-25-gt-wagon
  2. I have bi-LED setup with my JDM front end conversion done. Was somewhat skeptical at first but now after driving with it the improvement is very noticeable. I should do a write-up on the convo one of these days.
  3. My son spotted his BRZ at the port and took the photos before the dealer knew it was there
  4. John, I for one, would rather see you emerge from a rental Camry with a smile than with grimace of pain from GR86. My understanding is that we gather to see the people first, and cars second. I expect there will be at least one BRZ there if you get nostalgic.
  5. My boys went to a few of those and when I asked if I could join they told me pretty much the same thing - "You will not like the crowds". Instead we went to a meet at a new shop that the owner is positioning more towards higher end German cars. Nicer and much more disciplined people, with lots of young drivers as well.
  6. I had to sell mine, was way too loud for me. Plus being an echo chamber of the wagon didn't help.
  7. Awesome, thank you! I'll order the parts for all of them, and will see if I can avoid taking the dashboard out.
  8. My driver side climate control actuator is kaput. Stuck in fully open position blasting heat. Was OK in the winter but now that the temps are in their 50s during the day it has become a problem. Anyone have part ## for both? I recall reading that a) replacing driver side is more difficult b) some WRX actuators are 100% fit despite different part#.
  9. That's a great and important point. I remember reading about French resistance sabotaging new trucks they were building for Nazi Germany Wehrmacht during WW2 by making the oil dipsticks longer than originals.
  10. Awesome, thank you @Dre617! I agree with your conclusion about dealer's concern for the labor charges. I may end up doing the work myself unless I find a shop willing to be reasonable. Reading through others' experience should help with the plan.
  11. Glad wife made it to parking safe. Exact same thing happened to my middle son's 2010 Outback. I was able to talk SOA into covering $500 towards all brake lines swap as a good will gesture, the car was long out of warranty. Do you mind sharing how much did it cost you to get all brake lines, fuel tank and filler neck replaced? I have to do the same thing as my tank got smelly. Did the garage put OEM parts on it? My local dealer is not feeling hot about doing the job for some reason.
  12. Sounds like it would be easier to sell as is with disclosure and parts provided. It is not a difficult job to do but it takes time.
  13. DMFW made for slower acceleration but my main complaint was its main feature, that is how smooth the engagement was. It was really nice on the road but when I had to start motion going uphill it was a struggle simply because it was difficult to feel when the clutch would begin to grab. That made for a few fantastic mornings when I had to jump across a lane of crossing traffic to the other side of the busy road coming up hill from a pit on the T intersection. Ended up changing my morning commute route. DMFW was great for cruising but worse for spirited driving where a lot of fast shifting was required.
  14. Looks awesome! I guess it is for the better I never really figured out the whole Yahoo Japan auctions thing. So much money was spent on different things for LGT as is.
  15. I did pull the engine when I did the STI 6MT swap. I wanted to get few other small things done as well to the engine as well so I figured it would be easier with the engine on the stand where I can turn it any 360 degrees in warm well lit garage.
  16. How does it compare to an LGT Wagon? The size is one thing but I am interested in overall `feel`.
  17. We are looking to be there 6/6 through 6/10 (our plan is to drive there Thursday 6/6, do activities Friday/Sat/Sun, drive home Monday 6/10). Would prefer a room that sleeps 3, and access to restroom, walk in shower is fine of course. I read the description and a little confused about linen/towels. The house has all of that? We have no problem bringing our own of course, wagon and BRZ combined should have enough room. Mike can you confirm the room for these dates?
  18. Oh God, you have not been on this forum in its hayday, have you? @Ashtone ILL followed by any number is just an indication of where the illumination wheel is set to. That illumination wheel which is on the left side panel by the left knee. Turn it up and down, watch the display. Have to admit, first time it happened to me I got scared thinking YNANSB!!! I believe the wheel is just sensitive to humidity, it mostly happens to me when it is raining or really foggy. @KZJonny The info display flashes in two cases from what I recall: each hour of driving, and/or when ambient temp is around freezing. In later case I believe only temp readings flash though.
  19. Is that when the car goes in limp mode? I did clean the connector and contacts but imho that's red herring. Final resolution for me was to swap in a new pedal assembly. Hint - throw a towel or some shop cloth under the area, to cover the top edge of carpet. I ended up losing top nut under the carpet. Otherwise it was a cake to replace, did not have the problem since.
  20. No but Canada got facelifted wagons that were built right here in Indiana... SOA sux.
  21. Different strokes for different folks...
  22. Exactly, key is to remember not to roll them down while under water.
