No, it looked my pickup over real good and there are no hints of cracks in the joints.
Eastwoods will clean it real good before they put it on. I'll have them look it over too. Mine is a early 05 so I don't think anyone has had a problem with the tube cracking with early 05's.
I have a KB pickup for sale if you change your mind. $150.

If someone wants to jump in with the names for the other parts and part numbers for what I don't know that would be great!!
So to bring this list to this page, you used EVERYTHING on this list, except for the LGT steering knuckle (because you used the LGT steering rack).
Right?
I'll see if I can go through the drawings and get PN's for all of the missing ones on that list.
If I can find a local partout, I might try and snag all of that stuff. I'd love to do the official conversion to wagon bits and get rid of the Outback parts.

Fantastic writeup.
Maybe I'll tackle this one day.
-
You are, literally, the only person I know who has had good luck with Spec clutches.
-
I might have some 4mm spacers. Let me look.
-
I'm 99.5% sure my spacers will solve my bumpiness problems.

I purchased all the needed parts for the swap shown on picture in previous page including the GT rack and pinion for 260$ and then 100$ for shipping.
It was a good deal!!! I got all the parts with rack and pinion but minus the tranny cross member pieces from a part-out on Nasioc for 200$ and the tranny cross member I got on ebay for 60$ shipped.
Coil overs, wheels and other misc. parts well that just surplus!
Why did you get a new rack? Was yours leaking?
-
How much did you invest in doing the swap?
-
SBT - They are the MT GT Wagon springs.
BMB - Thanks for the good wishes. I won't be simply giving them away, but I'll keep you in mind. My car is a bit harsh over bumps, and with a newborn on the way, that's not great.
Before selling/trading, I'm going to try a few fixes first. If they work, these are off-the-market.
-
That's right. They were brand new, and I've put less than 25k on them.
-
*WTT*
Bilstein HD's w/ STi Pink Springs and Spec-B top hats!
Everything was BRAND new with less than 25k on it.
$600 + Stock (low mileage) LGT wagon suspension. NEEDED BY MAY 1st.

What's the best way to get the strut nut off (the nut with with captive hex rod inside the top hat)
Impact gun.
-
You should just buy my OEM 09 XT wheels!
-
Gotcha. When are you doing the swap?
-
4 are the bumpstops. I don't remember their part number off hand.
6 is the front LCA bushing stud (the rear front LCA bushing)
7 is the cover plate for 6
13 and 14 are the same, but for the other side of the car
15 is the rear trans crossmember horizontal.
Not sure what 16 is just yet.

Even with the 8.5% sales tax, cost of living is still far less than it is in MD.
-
I'm only going to be there for 15 months though, so I'll just wait and hope no one takes my tag.
-
I'd get this one if I lived in Indiana:

I'll probably get a custom tag in Texas when we register our cars there. I don't think I like the idea of $200/year, though. So I probably won't get custom tags.
www.myplates.com seems legit for TX. I like the "Don't Tread On Me" tag.

Stock 09 XT wheels, no tires.
It'll have to be quick, I'm bordering on putting them on my wife's Impreza.
-
I need to get rid of all this crap now.
$100 for the skis
$200 for the wheels
-
Done. That is one of my favorite tools.
