I've got a data plan, but I also sold my soul to vzw when I signed on for the family share thing. $4 more per month after company discount.

 

I use too much data to have a family share plan. It would cost me $80 more per month.

Those of you using tablets as carputers, do you have data plans on your tablets? Or are you tethering them to your phone?

 

I love the idea of using a tablet, but utterly dread the thought of $30/month for data on the damn thing.

I have that too, and it doesn't. I gave up looking and went with a Drawtite Class 3. I wasn't going to pay $900 to get a hitch that might not work.

And don't forget the extra ground clearance!

.. it has a 1 1/4" receiver, so i guess a class 2 or 3.

 

1.25" hitches are either Class1 or Class2.

 

Class 3 and 4 hitches are always 2"

I tried to get enough information to feel comfortable bringing that hitch over from Aus. It would've cost me $900USD to get a new one, and I wasn't able to find sufficient info to say that it would definitely bolt up to the US cars.

I said it in the beginning, and I'll say it again. I will NEVER replace a boot again. Massive waste of time.

There have been a bunch of people who have wanted to go 5x114. I'm surprised no one bought a bearing to compare to a stock one.

I think I've seen a thread where someone tried and the rear bolt pattern was very different.

 

And legacy rear suspension is very different than WRX rear suspension.

There has never been an instance where I wanted a "no-thanks" button more than I do right now.

Why do you cringe, I hear people say dont powder coating forged wheels it ruins the integrity. I say thats BS with all due respect IMO I just think thats said to people to scare them.

 

Absolutely no problem or danger with powdercoating wheels.

There is a PDI fuse under the hood that blew in mine.

Holy crap, only $2k? That's a great deal.

If you want gloves near a saw, wear latex or nitrile gloves.

 

A bare finger that touches a saw will get cut. A gloved finger will get sucked into the saw, followed by the hand, then arm, and possibly more.

 

This definitely cannot be quoted enough.

 

Work gloves with any kind of machine equipment is a recipe for disaster.

It depends on how you set it up. It's got it's own injector drivers and coil drivers, so you can do everything but run the A/C. It is, for all intents, a standalone.

 

He is running speed-density, too. The car idles like stock and drives around like stock. When you get on it, it'll rip your face off.

The car is tuned for pump gas, but I don't think he ever runs it.

He bought a second fuel pump controller, split the control lines, and fed each pump from a separate controller (each pulling battery power, though, not trying to drive two pumps through stock wiring for one).
