  1. Anyone know if JMP is still rebuilding turbos? I emailed him over a month ago but never heard back.
  2. Located in the Northwest corner but frequently travel down to the Danbury area for work. How much would they go for shipped?
  3. Gave it a clay bar, polish and wax yesterday. Detailed the interior this morning but found something that broke my heart. Drivers side seat is ripped along one of the seams. Definitely wasn't like that a month ago. Could have been from my wallet or one of the service techs. They are the black leather/ heated so probably won't be easy to replace.
  4. I would but one has a nice sized gash on the inner sidewall.
  5. Yea it seems that's what they did. I could tell the center cubby had been messed with but that was about it. Took them less than 2 hours for the airbag and brake line treatment. What made me happy was the car passed their multi point inspection with no issues. The tech was surprised at how good of shape it's in.
  6. Cleaned her up a bit and reinstalled all the interior pieces in the hatch area. Had to block up the vents back there as I was getting some pretty serious fumes coming through. Tomorrow the car is going to the dealership (Gengras) for the airbag recall and brake line issues. When I scheduled the appointment the worker told me it would only take 1-2 hours which kind of worries me. Thought they had to remove the whole dash. Going to take detailed photos of the dash area and a video of me driving down a bumpy road to exhibit that I currently have zero dash rattle. I just get worried handing it over. Going to take out the accessport and tell them not to mess with the ECU. Apparently they are doing a multi-point inspection so who knows what they will come up with.
  7. After taking a closer look it's going to be tight. Do you know approximately how far the sidewalls stick out from the edge of the rim?
  8. Picking up some 17x8 +48 ultraleggera sometime this week. Was planning on going with 235/45/17 DWS06's but now I'm starting to second guess the fitment. Still running stock suspension but may go with konis + new springs in the next few months, not sure how they compare for clearance with the stocks. Thinking a safer bet would be the 225/45/17.
  9. I'm waiting to hear back from Jmp on a rebuild/upgrade. Does anyone know if a pretty beat down vf52 can be rebuilt by him? There is one available pretty close to me but I'd hate to buy and it not be suitable for him to work on. Seller states the rotating assembly is shot but the housing should be good enough for a rebuild.
  10. Cv axles are brand new as well, maybe 600 miles on them.
  11. I have a suspension sound that I can't seem to recreate all the time. It's a clunking/knocking sound, only seems to happen at low speeds when the wheel is turned. Usually pulling into a driveway or parking lot. It's got new end links, ball joints and control arms. My first thoughts were the front sway bar bushings, they look a little worn out but not terrible, I can take pictures of them when it stops raining. I'm thinking it might be my top hats but not really sure, they are cracking on both sides. All the bolts are tight including the ones under the dust cover. Anyone have ideas before I load up the parts cannon and start firing?
  12. Just looked at it. Was supposed to go to The Shop CT for a dyno tune but Botti had to reschedule. Wednesday can't get here quick enough.
  13. Looking at Koni with H&R's but thinking those springs might be a little low for these Ct potholes. Having a hard time finding Eibach or Epic springs, are they out of production? Edit: Looks like they are discontinued.
  14. Yes they are the mevotech lower control arms. It looks like that's the part he is referring to. Thanks man.
  15. My car is currently at the shop towards the tail end of a refresh. It's going for a dyno tune on Friday so trying to get everything buttoned up. After checking with the mechanic last night he informed me that we need to find a ball joint sleeve and he can't seem to locate one. I looked at vacation pictures but can't quite figure out exactly what he needs. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  16. Looks like the wagon has to go in for the airbag and brake line recall once she is back on the road. I'm just worried the dash is going to get damaged in the process. Reading the horror stories on here didn't help much. Anyone have a recommended dealer in Connecticut?
  17. Will definitely keep an eye out for that stuff. Took everything I had but was able to get them loose with a breaker bar, thought they were going to snap. Put some anti seize on the threads and torqued them down to spec.
  18. Struggling with some caliper bracket bolts. Soaked them in pb and going to take another shot later.
  19. Located in Colebrook now. I've read through your thread a few times. Amazing source of information and definitely the guide I'd follow. I'll have to try contacting that mechanic, it's not too far from here. I was expecting somewhere around $7500. Removal and installation on the quote was $3500. Should have seen my wife's jaw hit the floor when I pulled up that quote for a 15 year old car.
  20. Got the quote back from a local shop for a stock rebuild, $9700. Was expecting alot but guess I wasn't ready for that.
  21. Drained the oil and ran a quart through a fine mesh screen. There were some flakes and fine sediment that felt gritty between my fingers. Not looking good to my untrained eyes. Also had some eyelash looking pieces in there. This is one of the larger flakes I found on the end of a q tip. Have some other pictures of what I found but they won't upload. I've had the car listed a few places but the best offer was $400 so far. Im really thinking about buying a new shortblock and getting the heads rebuilt but need to reach out to some knowledgeable shops around here.
  22. The bolt was snapped when I got to it. It turned freely when I put a wrench on it. Thinking they torqued it down to hard and it snapped either the bolt or whatever it's secured into. I was able to get the other 3 bolts on the driver's side timing belt cover to see in while it was running and the timing belt had no sloppiness that I could tell. All the components looked decent, belt had no glossiness on the backside and still had some white markings. Going to have it flat bedded to a place I can get it on jack stands and drain the oil (complex doesn't allow vehicle repairs) but it's up for sale. Just trying to figure out what's going on for potential buyers.
