JMLegacy
So my car recently changed it's coilpacks and connectors (i had misfire problems) Now the power is back but my car is pulling IAM to 0.93, in some instances even without FLKC and FBKC being pulled. Check the logs below Please my friends. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah7ipkvB9NHadEJpNnBDalMyaUZONHU4aWZ3ZWFSOEE&usp=sharing This log was done RIGHT AFTER flashing the ecu/reset
chimera
Takes a bit longer than that for IAM to hit 1.0. Drive a little longer and then run LV again. My understanding is that its either IAM or KC not both

chimera
Errr... by all means correct me if im wrong but i believe IAM *always* drops to 0.5 after ecu reset as a precautionary measure Edit: So just to summarise and if someone can confirm for my own understanding, IAM and FLKC are linked, but IAM is a rough/generic timing number as a whole, FL obviously for "fine learning" but at different rev ranges. And, if IAM changes then FLKC gets reset - is this right?
JMLegacy
To add more information, I have done this flashing and reset thing many times, my IAM after my protune NEVER drops lower than 1 except one instance where the car was on a long trip and was overheating. I suspect if you check IAM *immediately* after flashing (which also resets ROM) then IAM will be at 0.5. If you drive after, even for a couple minutes, then check its likely to be at 1.0 again. fishbone
Correct, after a reset IAM does not start at 1. How long it takes to go up to 1 depends. Mine has always gone up within a block. The initial starting value can be defined in ATR and I think also RR.
JMLegacy
well, maybe my tuner did something to prevent that wait time, or it's just my JDM ecu. I NEver experienced that before and i've done it quite a number of times. Coming home today i did a log. Most of the log shows where it adds timing in FLKC. Gonna post my LV shot. I drove over 100 miles today for sure. http://s11.postimg.org/iwaxf6xk3/snapshot.png
BlazeRex
I always set my tunes to go to IAM 1.0 after a reset. Others start lower, but I find no need. Factory is .75 IIRC.
chimera
Yeah IAM is configurable. Factory must vary depending on year or model because mine (2007 JDM) goes to 0.
JMLegacy
I'm just curious as to why a change in my coil-pack set would cause this...
Mega Users seabass07 Posted June 25, 2013 Mega Users Share Posted June 25, 2013 I'm guessing you disconnected the battery and reset the ecu.
JMLegacy
I'm guessing you disconnected the battery and reset the ecu. Lol. Yes. It's still at 93 and not much knock...I'm giving it a few more days before i get my tuner down here.
JMLegacy
So after I did a reset and flash today (retarded timing in some areas) My IAM is now up at 1 and so far after !30 miles of driving (WOTs and cruising) my FLKC table looks great. http://s8.postimg.org/67szre1rp/snapshot.png
