05 Legacy GT - has it ever done this to you?

Recommended Posts

166K miles. I think the best description is that the car has hiccup.

Above 3-4K rpm it pulls and then it stops and then it pulls again.

I does not happen all the time but it seems to be most of the time.

I suspected fuel first but the car was refueled, it seems better than before, but it still happens.

What do you think is going on?

228k. Occasionally I experience the same thing...more so on hills. I too will not be getting a tune as I've never had one nor see the need.

OP, I wonder if you have a leak at the hose from the tmic to the TB.

Boost blows the loose and then when boost lowers it seals, build boost and blows past the inner boot on the hose.

Story, the other week late at night, under high boost in higher gears the car felt like it didn't have as much power till I lifted and then got back on the throttle.

WHen the tmic was removed it was noted that the inner boot in the 1 year TB hose stayed on the TB.

I could hear air rushing while in higher gears under load...I wonder if that was the issue.

Easiest and cheapest route would be to get a smoke test, that should reveal where your leak is at.
