JLGT
Just a simple write-up for those that might not know what is required in removing your headlights. Also to take away some fear that some members may have about bumper and headlight removal when changing bulbs or installing HID kits. ========================================= TOOLS: FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER 10MM SOCKET AND SOCKET WRENCH PROCEDURE: REMOVE YOUR FRONT BUMPER http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/front-bumper-removal-2010-206177.html REMOVE THESE 2 10MM BOLTS AND 1 PUSH RETAINER http://i.imgur.com/kKuQsZo.jpg 10MM http://i.imgur.com/nydy820.jpg 2 10MM BOLTS http://i.imgur.com/FCNZySo.jpg REMOVE THE LOWER BLACK PLASTIC HEADLIGHT BRACE http://i.imgur.com/adQjhTF.jpg ON TOP OF THE HEADLIGHT REMOVE 1 10MM BOLT AND 1 PUSH RETAINER http://i.imgur.com/7UkJ3T8.jpg 10MM BOLT (KEEP A HAND ON THE HEADLIGHT TO PREVENT IT FROM FALLING AS YOU REMOVE THE LAST BOLT) http://i.imgur.com/cirOO76.jpg DISCONNECT THE GRAY CONNECTOR (PASSENGERS SIDE) http://i.imgur.com/zFz0iRM.jpg REPEAT STEPS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE , THE GRAY CONNECTOR IS A BIT SHORTER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SO PROTECT THE FRONT OF YOUR HEADLIGHT AS YOU TRY TO REMOVE IT. http://i.imgur.com/vkNpZ0F.jpg ========================================= AS A QUICK BONUS: DISABLING YOUR DRL'S: DISCONNECT THE CONNECTOR SHOWN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR. nstg8r
What I did when I disabled my DRLs, was just pull the connector out half way and then tape it. This way it doesn't rattle around. I've since reconnected it, however. Someday, when I get the chance or I'm really, really bored, I'm going to create a relay harness that will use the DRL circuit but bypass the the high beams allowing us to add on an LED DRL setup.
