joshtarmy1
*just replaced the thermostat a month ago. so idk. I still get the sweet coolant smell here and there but I haven't seen any puddles of coolant in a while. I did notice we had to hold the rpms at about 3k to get the thermostat to open when we burped it. But that wouldn't explain my coolant loss with no puddles. I don't know what would explain that. Haven't seen any wet spots on the floor board so I don't think the heater core is leaking.

joshtarmy1
Well the head gasket just went in my subaru. Not gonna bother to fix it. Leaks about a 1/3 of a gallon of coolant every time I shut it off. Parking it till the title comes in and then I am getting rid of it.
russiankoolaid
Had a loud wine coming from the driver side. Replaced the steering knuckle and axle and it drove like a dream. Few fays later the passenger side also went. Didnt have the time to fix it for few weeks. And yesterday decided to take care of it. Axle was good so it was just the bearing. Tried to take the axle out and couldn't. It fused with the hub . So ended up replaceing axle and knuckle on this side aswel. Drives like a dream again. Moral of the story don't drive for weeks on a bad bearing

frugalhorn
great job. Where do you get the fender? junk yard? how hard was this to do? I have a similar dent in mine and its really bothering me. Just trying to get some info. thanks I found and bought the panel online from a guy whom was wrecking his b4 - it was $100 nzd including shipping For me, the job was moderately hard (it's probably an easy job if you've ever took the bumper off before) but anyone can probably do it with some sockets/wrench. As for the info: -Probably a good idea to have at least 5 clips for the mud guard +1for the bumper (I had to break some clips to remove the mudguards from the bumper and the side skirt) - they were $2 nzd each in New Zealand -When you are jacking, make sure you are not jacking under the side skirt as you will need to remove the skirt to get to the fender. -Itd be good to make sure there is enough room to fully open the passenger door as two of the bolts for the fender are hard to get to otherwise. -order of removal for me was: tyre > headlight > mudguard > side skirt > bumper > fender -if you can find the service manual the job would be a lot easier. Despite some hickups along the way, it was a pretty fun job - I'd definitely recommend diy if you can find the right fender Glhf

BigBlack-V
I used the Sylvania headlight restore kit which worked pretty well and I filled up the tank with gas. I got 331 miles to the tank which I don't think is too bad. Car gets about 23 mpg average which is good I was 0. And I'm still a zero.
