DadSled
2003 Mazda Protege5 manual. fabulous handling. great gas mileage. fun. pretty slow. seats like straw. in urban miami commuting, i had a permanent crick in my left knee & elbow, drove me crazy. hadda get an automatic. quick fun handling was its best attribute. 2002 Lexus IS300 SportCross wonderful, still miss her! too many good qualities to list but I'll name a few. smooth strong V6. nimble. awesome handling. fun to drive. rare. awesome stock stereo sound. great visibility, low dash & hood sight line. regular maintenance costs were getting too much to keep her running right, although nothing technically "broke." also the low ingress / egress felt immature to some, annoying to older folks. dark leather interior was getting a little depressing & beat-up once the "premium leather interior" smell & feel was gone, which I'm not sure it ever had. vaguely almost boy-racer image (kinda). it all left me wanting something a little more mature. also, where i live i would catch flack for the 'lexus' badge, in spite of the car's age & original price tag. sold it for same amount I bought after 2.5 yrs of ownership: $9,000 2004 Audi A6 quattro avant quiet. solid. heavy. amazing build quality. AWD felt pretty unbeatable but didn't test it so much. luxury. relaxing in ugly urban miami traffic. but it felt slow, serious, old. big & cumbersome. super, strong car. just not for me. 2005 Subaru Legacy GT wagon A/T THIS THING ROCKS! it boils down to this - other cars beat in all kinds of specs & figures & luxury & etc, but this thing has so much character and makes me smile from ear to ear, time & again. it's like a loyal, eager, easy to live with super family dog. ready to go, always fun, never bites, love it! every time I think I might like something more luxurious, faster, gizmos etc, I just...drive it! and that pretty much settles it. the wagon form factor is good for family, for stealth speed, for practicality. easy to work on, upgrade (except for the d*** stereo head unit!) all told, the best wagon I've had yet. the next upgrades are either too $ or too brand name-y. or too gangsta (magnum srt8) no thanks. oaklandmiLGT
2004 mitsubishi endeavor, Thanks dad! one snowy winter I let a friend drive it around a parking lot and he managed to slide it into a tree at a good rate of speed. I spent the next year driving around in it with mangled up body panels which was a great time in the winter because it didnt matter if i scratched it or dented it more, so i got pretty crazy with sliding everywhere i could. The "friend" who crashed it continued to promise monetary compensation then one day moved to california and that's the last i heard of him. This january an lgt showed up on our lot at work (i work at a KIA dealership) and as soon as i drove it i made sure no one else there could and bought it for about 600 more than the dealer bought it for. I could have gotten it for 400 less if i waited about a month but i wasnt about to let our sales staff and customers drive the car i want. I bought it because i already loved my father's outback wagon and i couldnt resist the fun of the turbo on the LGT. I let my emotions get the best of me and didnt inspect the car as well as i should have, but hey you gotta learn how to buy a car (and now how to repair a car) somehow. ERLoft
1968 Dodge Charger 440 Magnum. (Can you say 4mpg? That's why I sold it, but I wish I still had it. A beast of a car.) 1981 Honda Civic hatchback. (Tough little bugger. Hit a deer, two rollover accidents, kept on driving.) 1990 CRX Si (Go kart with two seats and a hatch for carrying junk...) 1991 Civic EX sedan. Started out with a JDM ZC motor swap, then went to a JDM B16A1 swap. First car I really started to mod. From the engine with the close ratio JDM tranny to a very rare (In the USA) UK CRX SiR gauge cluster and Integra rear trailing arm assemblies with disc brakes, it was a well sorted and fun car to drive. 2002 WRX. Stage 2 and went through 4 different suspension setups. Had a lot of fun with this car at track days. 2007 LGT Spec.B More work upcoming, but decided to move to a more 'adult' car from the WRX. I sure as hell get a lot sell attention from the PoPo than I did in the WRX. More comfort, almost as fun on mountain back roads. (The WRX was always a little more nimble, especially on quick side to side transitions.) 2013 █S4 - Glacier White - DSG - B&O - Tech Package - Sports Diff - Napa - RS4 Grille - Stasis Exhaust - APR Intake - KW Variant 1 - Stern Control Arms - CR-15 - Stasis RSB - Moog Endlinks - PC Hyper Black Peelers - Deval Front Lip - ECS Rear Diffuser - Carbon Imports Ducktail - ECS Mirror Caps - Relak Paddle Extensions - Autostyle Floor Mats - LED Interior - V1 - Blackvue DR900s - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

danstouring
1985 1/2 Porsche 944: No power but awesome balance 1999 Honda Civic Si: Revved to 8k and was a blast to thrash. 2002 MINI Cooper S: 1 of the first 600 Cooper Ss in the world, and 15 trips to the dealer in 9 months proved that! The Silver one was mine. 2003 MINI Cooper S: Replaced by dealer for previous unhappy car. Best one of the three. 2005 MINI Cooper S: Thought the better gearing and LSD would make it better, but throttle mapping changes and the LSD only being a 30% lock made it a let down. On to the Scoobs! 2000 Subaru Impreza RS: Loved the handling, looks, sound and all weather ability of the car...Planned a swap, then a buddy offered me his STi. 2006 Subaru Impreza STi: Traded the RS plus cash for this STi and I miss this car EVERY week. Never should have sold it... Now it has been totaled. 2000 Honda Civic EX: Needed cheap while buying a house and married. No pic, standard 2000 civic Ex in silver...bleh but got me around cheaply for a while. 2008 VW Golf GTI: Couldn't take the honda anymore. Great car, APR tune, fun handling and amazingly comfortable place to be. 2010 Audi A4 S Line: Thought I wanted more grown up. Fit the baby seats well, needed a tune. Looked the business and was actually a very good car. Had the new rear bias Quattro so it could be played with. 2010 BMW 535i Xdrive 6 speed M Sport Touring: Might regret selling this one but I can't seem to keep a car more than 2 - 3 years anyway. Rare and quite awesome to drive. Freight train type power delivery and great mile cruncher. 2005 LGT 5 Speed Wagon: Found one low miles and 5 speed close to me. Mods have started, being installed now...mid life crisis??? Handling first, then power. S-04s, KW V2s, Brakes, RSB, SS, and new wheels soon.
